Banshee Construction Progress

Could the textured lighting that is planned for Banshee be the reason the station is tiled with those surprisingly light colors? I don't think I've ever seen that kind of wall treatment used for the exterior of a building. It looks like it could be a good background for all sorts of projected lighting.

That texture or pattern of wall is used for the new entrance buildings at Cedar Point. Instead of light purples, Cedar Point's is orange.

Enforcing them only gets so far..@ CP as a ride op, enforcing in the queue and whatnot was easy. When on a midway heading to the ride location, break, or roving. You could somewhat enforce it, but 8 out of 10 will step away a bit and smoke, or give you an attitude..There are those two people that say oh ok, or oh didn't know, and follow you to the nearest area..

But enforcement is hard without technically a penalty or anything. I've only ever watched one person from security do anything with a smoker giving him a hard time, but there were threats involved, and he was a Huron PD :P

I will say KI securty is more lax than CP security as well..Guy throws his shoe into the queue at WindSeeker, gets talked to, doesn't get kicked out..wth. CP, had someone try taking quarters up top on PT..downed the tower, left restraints locked, security came, kindly escorted them out of the park :)

The still doesn't stop having to walk through a cloud of smoke on the path from The Beast to Vortex.

I don't know the last time you've been to the park, APE, but that smoking section has been moved off of the path next to the restrooms. That move has helped so much.

It would be nice if they just completely banned smoking within the park. At least two of the smoking areas are terribly placed to where others have to smell it. People should be able to go a few hours without smoking and if you're there all day go to your car.

As much as I would enjoy that, the park would not be making as much money. ALOT of people smoke, and if smoking is banned at KI, then they wouldn't go to KI...

Sort of like how people stopped going to restaurants, bars, and bowling alleys when they banned smoking in Ohio?

I'm a smoker and I only smoke in the designated areas. If someone is smoking outside these areas then they should be told and warned then if caught again be thrown out of the park.

I appreciate them giving me an area to smoke. I respect non smokers. But it is all outside its not like were in a cramped up building.

^^ BINGO^^ Keep the designated areas and just enforce them. No need to ban everything just because no one enforces the rules.

I stopped going to restaurants, bars and bowling alleys.

They don't want my custom, and I oblige them. I'm okay with it.

I really want the smoking area rule enforced. It's infuriating to have some toothless soaked hillbilly brag that he don't carr- he gonna smoke whar he wants- they ain't a gonna do nuthin, as if he owns the park and no one else matters.

I want them to do something. Those people are train wrecks waiting to happen.

I want ninjas to parachute in and tackle roaming smokers as they walk along, burning holes in other people's stuff, and stinging people's eyes, and endangering small children.

Ok…

But I do agree with you when you say that smoking in the smoking area should be enforced. I too hate it when people smoke; especially in Planet Snoopy. That just scares me.

I feel bad for people that are allergic to smoke. The Haunt is really a blast, but it excludes these people with the use of fog machines.

That can't have a 'fog free' special night, but still, it would be nice for the people that are sensitive to be able to see it.

If there's fog on the Banshee, are there going to be times when it's fog free?

If there is fog on Banshee the trains whizzing by I highly doubt you will be able to even tell its there.

Something else. That fog kills the grass. Can't imagine what it does to the idiots who go up to it, inhale it, then blow it out.

Something happens :)

I love how this topic has become "Hey guys, let's talk about both The Bat and Banshee on the topic that is for Banshee construction!". No problem with it of course, it is just interesting how topics get so diverted from certain diversions that people use to invert the whole conversation.

BB1, heading for The Bat Cave soon.

Fog =/= smoke. Fog is just water. No negative health benefits.

Water-based fog would dissipate rapidly, so fog machines use other ingredients for a lasting effect. Glycerin-based fog is definitely not toxic, but some can be sensitive to it with prolonged exposure.

You'll be flying through any fog quickly on Banshee, so I wouldn't expect it to bother many (if any) people. I believe it was mentioned that fog was to be part of the night ride experience. If so, individuals sensitive to theatrical effects could simply ride during the day.

Glycerin and distilled, demineralized water are the main ingredients for Fog Juice. The fact that it's atomized can cause breathing issues if there is long exposure, otherwise it is safe. Overexposure for long periods can cause headaches, sort of like smoke inhalation issues. An appropriate amount of oxygen is always necessary and it should be thoroughly mixed well with oxygen in the environment where it is used.
