I was super pumped to be there on Announcement night! Anybody else on here cheer when they put Banshee on the screen? I was able to meet a couple of you on that night. I am super pumped about Banshee.

The energy in that crowd was amazing.

I heard about Banshee plonking there. Does anyone know how much it is?

Cedar Point's plinko at Gatekeeper and Millennium Force is $5, and your chance of winning a front-of-the-line pass is less than 20%. Furthermore, the front-of-the-line pass is only good for the attraction featured on the game.

Hopefully things are better here.

It's a game of chance. Odds are you will get a 2 for one coupon...but that's a chance you take. Although I stood at the Diamondback coaster and watched at least 5 people get the front of the line pass. And a couple of those people paid twenty or more dollars before they hit the jackpot and none of them cared that they spent enough to buy half a Fastlane before they hit....future casino gutter dwellers in action.

^^^ The spin-the-wheel game in front of Vortex has worked out to $3 per ride on average, considering that each ticket is good for two riders. That's about one ride's fraction of a Fast Lane pass, so I consider that very reasonable.

The problem with casinos is that they're a spectacularly bad deal that most players can't afford. On average, each dollar you win costs much more than a dollar. There are some spectacularly "bad" deals at amusement parks too - the guessing game, CP plinko, and many others.

Of course, those games have intangible payouts as well. A good age/weight guesser can provide a group with a lot of entertainment for that $5, for example. As long as you're happy with what you get for your money, and you can afford it, there's nothing inherently wrong with taking a chance.

Just hoping to get early ride time with the season pass next year

I would be shocked if Banshee isn't included with early ride times next year!

I would imagine once we pass the first day of the rides operations, we'll be seeing ERT immediately. Would seem silly not to.

I don't know if anyone else thinks so but I personally think slingshot only gets a lot of people to ride it when they drop the price down. I hope they tear it down. It's fun to walk by and watch the people but other times its hard to get past it because of people watching it. On another note, who else hopes that it has a "roar" like raptor on its first drop.

I hope they tear down SlingShot and Xtreme Skyflyer. I just don't like what those bland steel structures do to Kings Island's skyline.

I don't see what's wrong with a little extra revenue. As long as upcharge attractions like Skyflyer, SlingShot & DA are bringing in more money than it costs to operate them, that's extra money the park is getting that can go towards improvements and new attractions. You don't have to pay for them if you don't want to. I pay for Skyflyer about once every two years, haven't been through DA since it's first year and I've never paid for SlingShot (although I did get to ride it about 10 years ago during an employee ride night).

I would like it if they used some of the revenue they generate to make it less of an eyesore. Not speaking of DA ofcourse.

I think it was cool of them to add this bit of extra mystique to the ride (from visitkingsisland.com):

Shortly after the construction of Kings Island began in 1970, mysterious happenings began to occur. Screams or wailing would often be heard. White hallowed eyes would appear in the night. Silver combs were found on the ground. There were even witnesses claiming to have seen glimpses of figures flying around the park.

Well, now more than four decades later, the legend has become a reality because we’re giving Banshee her own ride, which will surely bring up new sightings. So if you are witness to any strange goings-on in the park, capture it and post the photo on Twitter with the hastag #KIBanshee. And prepare yourself for a ride you’ll be screaming about for a long, long time.

On the wheel spin I got a front of the line pass on my first spin. That one there's I think 1 where you don't win anything so for the what I think is 2 dollars you have a pretty good chance of winning something. I would like any of those prizes except for XFlyer or whatever it's called. That thing scares me so bad.

has anyone noticed in the renderings and videos that there is a lack of Adventure Express? they put the effort in to put in top gun, Delirium, WindSeeker, outer limits....i hope they were just being lazy...

I hadn't noticed that until you said something.

I'm back from a long hiatus by the way. I miss the conversations here.
