On Sunday, September 1st I was able to take my son Korbin with me to IB for the day for some father/son time! We got to the park about 10:30am. We parked in the south lot crossing the suspension bridge over Lake Shaffer. At this point it was very cloudy and still cool even with a high reported to being 89 degrees for the day!

We walked the boardwalk to check out the park for it had been a few years since I had been! We got Water Park/ Ride Combo Passes. We went and got changed into our bathing suits and put all of our belongings into a lock which only cost 50 cents! We then walked to the beach area. Buy this time it was almost 11 and the beach was open. We went straight over to the water slides and lazy river area. We spent the next 2 hrs of the day playing on water slides/lazy river and swimming at the sand beach.

At this point we were getting hungry, and were ready to ride some coasters! So, we left the Beach area, changed back into our dry clothes and took our wet stuff back to the car. We rode the sky ride to the south end of the park to get ride of of wet clothes and rode them back to get some food. Korbin got a cord dog and I got some cheese sticks, but also wanted some Tacos for the Taco Shoppe.

On the way to the Taco Shoppe we stopped for a ride on the Dodg-em's. The best dodge cars out there in my opinion! We then hit up Galaxi, my fist ever steel coaster! It will always hold a special place in my heart. I still remember crying to my parents to not take me on that ride, but when I got off I wanted to go again!

We were then at the Taco Shoppe and got some tacos to eat!

After some Taco's were decided to hit up the Water Swings!

After the water swings Korbin wanted to drive the antique autos so we got a ride on those! Now I was really ready to go ride the one ride I had craved to take a spin on all season, Cornball Express! To me CE is like their version of The Beast, just the best woddie they have! I rank it above The Raven at HW!

Next up it was Hoosier Hurricane! This ride was a little bumpier than CE and with the off season track work done by Rock mount Coasters I would have thought it would have given a smother ride. Still fun though!

I was very excited to ride Falling Star which they had just got back up and running after being down for some time! We had a great ride on it although I miss it being over in it's old location where you had a nice view of the lake and dam!

Then it was back to Galaxi for another ride on it. At this point it was getting to be 7 PM and we were getting tired. I wanted one last ride on Cornball Express, so We headed over there and made that our final ride of the day! Thanks for reading!

Cornball is soooo good. You're standing up the whole time.

It seems to have lost a little bit of its laterals to me, but maybe I am not thinking correct?

Great trip report Brad!

Did you not get to Tig'rr or Lost Coaster?

No, Korbin is not tall enough for Tig'rr and LCOSM was closed in the morning and had a long line later in the day and I am not that crazy for it.

Lots of improvements this past season and I hope they keep it up! If they can get to some of the other rides painted and looking pristine again I think they can draw in a good crowd constantly again in the next few years.

I can't believe someone has not mentioned the buzz bars and not lap bars on their PTC's! : )

nice trip report.

Since a zac spin has 8 riders/train and its capacity is not great, I can only imagine steel hawg.

LCOSM is even slower on capacity. Even though it can hold 8 per train, there is only 1 train and is very awkward to load/unload. SH was dispatching trains as soon as the one before it hit the brake run. They were kicking butt in that regard!
