IndyGuy4KI Posted October 28, 2013 Share Posted October 28, 2013 So, I had been excited but dreading this day all week. I was excited to get to see everyone, but sad that is was closing day. Another season of Kings Island has now passed. I think it has been a good season for me and for Enthusiasts alike! I got up at about 5:45 to get ready. Left the house at 6:25 AM to get on the road for the breakfast meetup!It was great to see everyone at Frisch's Big Boy for breakfast. My first plate of food from the breakfast buffet! First time of having their food in a long time. We don't have any of these in Indy!Some of the others eating!We then left Frisch's at about 9:10 and waited for the parking lot gates to open for a few minutes before get up to the front gates and wait for the park to open for the last time in 2013. Beastie1980 (Melissa) and I headed straight back and got 2 rides in on DB, we then meet up with her mom who had taken the bobble heads back to the car when we walked in and headed for the line drop over by BLSC.We wanted to ride FOF and FH before it got real busy in X-Base. WE rode FOF twice and then meet up with some other KIC'ers again for a few rows full on FH. When we got off of FH a few wanted to ride FOF again, so Melissa and I got in 3 rides within about 20 minutes! Several wanted to got look at Action Zone so we headed that way and wanted to see what FD looked like. On the way we decided to get a locker and put our coats in since it was warming up at this point.Mrs.NoChickens stuffed a backpack, with several bobble heads, and about 5 coasts into that little locker. Needless to say, we got our $2.00 worth out of that locker. Here she is stuffing everything in there! I think there was about 10 of us watching to see if she was going to get it all in there and the door shut.Of course, on the way to AZ I had to get another pic of Banshee!We rode FD 2 times. On the second ride a ride op saw me on the ride and when we got back to the brake run got on the speaker and said "Top Gun sponsored by Gillette Mach 3 razors." That was fun! Other people on the train were confused except for a hand full of us! After that we meet at Tower drinks for our 12:45 meetup! We also got a group photo!Quite an improvement from last years group photo! (Here is our group photo closing day 2012)After the meetup most of us went to the Festhaus to eat lunch. After lunch we got a ride in on AE. At this point members of the Greater Ohio Coaster Club were invited for a behind the scenes tour of Banshee. Here are the picks I took!Station FoundationLook how close to the ground that track gets!I am standing on the ground and can reach up and touch the track! (Don said no more dirt was going to need to be removed.) IndyGuy4KI Posted October 28, 2013 Author Share Posted October 28, 2013 After the tour we got a ride in on Delirium. We then wanted to watch Ed Alonzo's show. After that we decided to head towards Vortex. I was lucky enough to have be able to ride with Terpy on this ride! We then headed towards The Beast. Here we are having fun in line! After hitting up The Beast we took a ride on DB. After our ride on DB we decided that we were going to mentally prepare ourselves correctly for Banshee next season by taking over a train and riding Flying Ace Areal Chase! I was joking while in the queue for FAAC that we should ride Race For Your Life Charlie Brown since there was not much of a wait! Well a bunch decided that they wanted to do it, so we ended up taking up 3 logs of riders of KIC Members! The first boat down! Melissa, myself, Original, and Katie.Greg (I am leaning back trying to balance the boat as much as possible so it does not nose dive. I am not sure how well that worked out.) Log 2 Fire-Beast-of-Fear, Kat, MDMC01, BeastForever We did not get a pic of log 3, but afterward we got everyone together for a group picture! Poor OhioColts was in the from on log 3 and got soaked to the bone, he looked miserable for about 1/2 hr. We then wanted to ride FD and get one last ride on it before the possible mystery changes happen and lines are a lot longer next season! Here is what it looks like under the station now. Sorry, for some reason these came out blurry. Some of us went and rode DT and a few others rode Racer. We then got our stuff out of the locker and headed for the final ride of the year on The Beast. We were on the last public train of 2013 as the ACE members were coming in to put The Beast to sleep for the season. As we walked out I got a picture of the front gates! Some of us meet at Taco Bell for some dinner before making our trek back home! It was an awesome day and I am glad I got to spend it with people I consider good friends and family! Some good pictures in there... and somebody took a lot of selfies. As for "uploading" them to here, you can't. You have to upload to a third-party hosting site (which you've already done with Photobucket) and then find the embedding code on that site and paste it in here. For Photobucket, on each photo page to the right of the photo is a box with four different "links to share this photo". Click in the IMG box (the one beginning with "[url") and it should flash "Copied". Then come to KIC and paste into the edit box. She has gotten my mom involved, too. I will never have a shortage of pics of either if them. she also loves to hijack my Facebook status at times. I get even though.
