False...rafts can go airborne...can...scary **** can happen so during e stops everyone needs to be on their toes to get the rafts off of the turntable and into the storage. There's a reason during the season the crews do e stop drills

I don't think you read my post. If the ride is being operated, maintained, and ridden correctly, then it should be safe. Being operated correctly involves training employees correctly, such as the e-stop drills you mentioned.

Yes, but outside factors beyond that..Say power outage, weather emergency evac, someone falling in (can still be secured and everything and still happen)

Variables will always be present, even if the crew is on it's A game, it's still alot more hectic to e-stop one of these than say a coaster. I e stop a coaster, everything hits the brakes once it reaches the end of a block or stops where it is, end of story. Having possible rafts collide, etc. with unloading people, it can be a scary situation. I push one button on a coaster, end of story, Flume ride, uh oh..I still remember the horn sounds

The biggest, and most unpredictable, factor, by far, is rider behavior--both that which may have caused the e-stop and thereafter. Will the riders stay put til evacuated? Will riders keep hands, legs and arms in rafts during operation?

For this reason, a few parks have installed restraints on these rides, a frightening thought in many ways.

E stop means water goes away, means get the riders unloaded ASAP. Biggest thing is getting the huge rafts off of the turntable and into the storage area. Biggest thing is getting all those rafts over easily and getting them unloaded quickly means the rafts come close together still at speed by the turntable. The walls are like balloons, they can hit and bounce knocking into things with force one, or two flip over/get airborne.

It's a possibility, the thought of it happening is very marginal, but the chance is still there, and that's what's scary about it.
