It seemed like every time I noticed it, it was because some people went to go put their bag in a locker and some went in line, and then the locker people joined the line people a few rows in. I think this will be an issue until, well, forever, because of people being annoyed about having to get a locker, so they just don't care. Where did that statistic come from I look at it like this, I'm an adult and some kids/preteens just made their way up in the line, me waiting 1 more ride cycle isn't going to break my back. No need to ruin peoples day. If adults are cutting in line, same thing one ride cycle isn't going to ruin my day why risk a confrontation that might escalate to a physical altercation over 1 ride wait time. If you're really ready to risk a physical altercation over 1-2 people cutting in line then I really have no idea why you go out in public. Gplez90 Posted May 6, 2014 Share Posted May 6, 2014 I just have fun with line jumpers..bout as close to a Drill Sergeant I'll get for a few years Oh the reaction and huge glossy eye reaction in young teens is priceless i sometimes do that too lol. 12 and 13 year olds get a little frightened when a big black guy yells at them. True about line jumping but in some cases speeding is okay like when I-75's under construction speed limit is 45 MPH! Insane that's like a normal road! Look at I-465, speed limit is 55 at all times, way too slow. Yes the signs read 55 but the flow of traffic (outside of rush hour) is usually closer to 70. Security @ KI is a joke, saw a kid pull his shoe off on WindSeeker and chuck it at a guys head. Um during construction, the speed limit is 45 so you dont hit and kill (KILL) a construction worker. Plus fees are doubled and possible jail time for speeding in a construction zone are enabled.... If it is a sporting event, gold medal to the ones that jump line at WWC now THAT would be quite interesting. Is it considered line jumping if there is no line and on the walk back they have the middle gates open so you can get back in line? Some of those security officers are very young and inexperienced with how to handle a situation like this. I know this isn't a good excuse, but the park does give the officers some discretion on how to handle some situations. Did the guest continue the action once the security officer advised them not to do that? Was WindSeeker up in the air when the shoe was thrown? One time, a guest was able to sneak a cup of ice onto Vortex and as it was going up the lift hill, the guest threw the cup behind him. A young guest was sitting a few rows behind him and a piece of ice struck the young guest in the eye. I arrested the thrower of ice for assault. Serious consquences can be had from dumb decisions. I agree, the teenagers I bring to the park know better than to line jump, but if one did and I seen a grown man yelling at one of them. Not gonna be a pretty sight. That's why I say to just get over it, or let security or an officer handle the situation. Last time I was at the park had to get a locker and the line was moving before I could get the locker do to some one not willing to move out of the way. My friend has glasses and left her glass case in the backpack and had to get it. If the glasses broke she would be blind as a bat. If the park had a Ben for backpacks or bags it would have been no problem for her. I know you tell me not to bring a bag and what not, but where Am I to carry a glasses case? I don't see what the problem with that is. As much as somdtimes they make me distraught and I want to yank the mic away and do it right or help clear trains faster, I'll always love watching a crew who clicks well and has great unit cohesion. The rest of the rides have bins (except for Firehawk & FOF) but a glasses case is little enough. And jdawg, they may not mean to but if that's the case and a friend of yours is lagging behind, the proper thing to do is wait on them. It's the same as holding the door for someone to go inside while you wait on your friends. You don't call dibs on a space and then see if your party is ready. It's rude. I was sitting in the first row of car 2 and going up both lift hills the two girls in the front row had their phones out taking selfies. Was wanting to see them stop us on the lifts and call them out but that did not happen. Security was also in the station upon our return and from what I saw nothing happened there either. Of course, being the ass that I am, yelled out "WAIT! Let me take a selfie!" while they were doing that. Don't think they liked it... To me this is the most blatent, thoughtless, arrogant and inconsiderate conduct toward others. The message to those following the rules is " I am better than you, I am too good to follow the rules." Is it fair that after I wait in line for over an hour that a bunch of kids cut in front of me to join their group and have to wait in line just 10 minutes? Like I said I am not going to let a situation such as this ruin my day-it is what it is if the cutters are not caught. I taught her that our phones go in our bag and our bag goes in a locker where needed. We have talked about it many times. She has witnessed older teenagers loose items on rides. She has stated "mom you never have to worry about me doing that because I value my iPhone too much"! It's the best I can do is teach her what is right and hope when she starts going with her friends she will influence them too. shark6495 Posted May 7, 2014 Share Posted May 7, 2014 About 2 years ago, I had a guy yell at my 9 year old nephew because he had to leave the line of Firehawk to run to the bathroom then came back to where we were. We had waited an hour and he had to go to the bathroom. He ran back to the restrooms then returned. A park employee came up to the man yelling at my nephew and explained to him that the kiddo was not line jumping (we actually waited in the same spot and let people pass us till he returned) but had to use the restroom. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
