I personally don't mind them. The problem that I have with them is that sometimes it's hard to tell if it is an e-cigarette or a regular cigarette. I'm sure there are impressionable guests that see someone smoking an e-cigarette and assume all smoking is allowed in line.

While in line for Griffon someone smoked an e-cig.
One dose not simply smoke an E-cig they vape lol. I have used them in lines the last two years, last year not very excepted, this year it dose not seem to effect people. I do not believe in using them on any ride because it seems like a hazard to others if it were to fly, not to mention it seems like it would take away from the ride.

Many guests (myself included) don't want to breathe or smell the aerosol from an e-cigarette in an enclosed space, such as a ride queue. Even though they're likely to produce much less pollution than burning a cigarette, their safety has yet to be established.

Also, as others mentioned, their use outside smoking areas may encourage some to smoke a traditional cigarette in an inappropriate place.

I would like to start by saying I do appreciate your feedback but to correct you an e-cigarette is not an aerosol product it uses a liquid like fog machines do but Dissipates at a much higher rate

That liquid ends up suspended in the air as small droplets, right?

If so, it's an aerosol by definition.

I use E cigs in line but if I am told not to I wont, I do not see it likely being a problem though. I do not blow it anywhere near faces but it is not like they are gross smelling or thick smoke. If someone in line has an issue or an employee does by all mean I will appease them without a problem but it has not perturbed anyone I have noticed and it is pretty common place now.

There's people, some on this board, that have very sensitive lungs, so I would suspect the vapor of an e-cig would affect them. I'm not a doctor, so I can't go into any causes, but I'm sure they've gone to a doctor to look into it. I'm sure they'd avoid rides like TR:TR and the old Top Gun when it had effects. Perhaps it's best that the rides are dropping the themes.

I suspect that many of them don't go to Haunt for the reason stated, the fog machine is a very big e-ciggy thing.

Something I saw yesterday that was not only shockingly rude, but potentially dangerous to one of my favorite performers.

You know how they tell people in the front rows and the aisles about keeping their feet and other things out of the way of the aisles during Cirque Imagine, for their safety and that of the performers? I've been at some performances where it is said by an employee, unamplified, walking around those areas, but at yesterday's show it was announced by an employee on a mic on stage, so it was pretty much impossible to miss.

Just before the lights were going down, an employee fortunately noticed some jerk in the front row had plugged her phone into an outlet on the front of the stage(!!!) and was holding her phone at her seat, with the charging cord stretched out right across where Trevor the stunt-rider would very soon be traveling.

The employee just unplugged it and handed it to her repeating that it needed to be removed for the safety of the performers. If I had been the employee, I'd probably have called security to have her escorted out of the showing.

Seriously, just plugging your phone in to someone else's outlet without permission is rude enough, but to risk someone else's safety in doing so is way worse.

The thing about E-cigs that annoys me is that people like to smoke them everywhere just because they can.

I'm getting fish for someone at work a few months ago, and the customer was wearing one around his neck. As he enters the aquatics area, he immediately informs me that he's "allowed" to smoke inside because it's an E-cigarette. In my head I'm thinking, "that's nice." So anyhoo, he's pointing to all the fish he wants and I'm bagging them up for him as he continues to vape in the store, blowing...vapor? Smoke? Whatever... In my direction repeatedly. Like he was just trying to display the fact that he's allowed to smoke it inside.

People just like to show that they can do something and not do that thing respectfully or in moderation

I see that situation as the person with sensitive lungs problem. I am by no means standing up for e-cigarets, but that is technically not the smokers problem. If you have sensitive lungs you should be responsible enough to not go around stuff like that or to avoid e-cigs.

That would be like me seeing someone with a big candy bar, and me getting mad at them because I'm a diabetic and not being able to eat one.

Not trying to be rude to you or to tell you you're wrong at all. :)

I agree with Tanna actually. People should not have to avoid amusement parks because other people are vaping. I just believe that since it dissipates so quickly it would not irritate others lungs. I could be very wring though and would like to know the answer because I would not like to make Anyone uncomfortable. I suppose the right thing to do would be to stop doing it in line til I know

The only e-cigarettes that bother me are the ones with scents, I always end up in the vicinity of somebody with a menthol e-cigarette and it smells horrible in my opinion.

I'll have to show you what someone with an IGE level of 800+ what happens if they dust their house..

Sometimes even Albuterol/Combivent/AutoEpi doesn't even do the trick.

Had one guy w/ a ridiculously high IGE, on Xolair, Albuterol PRN, Duoneb PRN, and Allegra..Encountered a trigger just weed eating the yard, took AutoEpi and Benadryl prn q4hr and still was in Anaphylaxis the next afternoon (24 hours)

But no..If someone vapes, it's totally the Asthmatics fault...

Have you ever seen the movie Airplane? This post is like every scene in that movie with the jive talking. Please, be my Barbara Billingsley. ;)

(I'm just jerking your chain. But, for real--you lost me a little there with all the medical talk.)

IGE..Immunoglobulin E=Antibody found in the cascade leading to allergic reactions..Bunch of these everywhere, guess what, your body produces a crap ton of histamine, and then Anaphlaxis..

Albuterol=Short Acting Bronchodialator..Common

Combivent=Same thing, but long lasting

AutoEpi=Epinephrine Auto Injector..Here's a fun vid..Reverses allergic reaction/shock/etc. great drug

Xolair=Long lasting (three weeks), expensive (almost 1k/injection), but bonds to IGE..When it bonds, prevents IGE from bonding to allergens to start the bodies process of going through an allergic reaction.

Duoneb=Nebulizer of Albuterol & Ipratropium..Lots of bronchodialator effects, works better than just one or the other solo

Allegra=Anti Histamine, same as Benadryl, just target different receptors/etc.

Anaphalaxis=Your bodies way of saying screw you allergen. Heart rate goes crazy, airways shut out completely, body dilates blood vessels, blood pressure drops, body goes into shock, leads to death..All these things to help fight an allergen (basically your body reacting to an infection), but ends up actually harming itself.

You are not being rude at all.

Mostly my issue with smoking is walking around with a lit fire, which can burn in a crowd. I burnt a hole in my jeans, that's my problem, but someone burns a hold in a kids' arm, that's an issue.

On this forum, I've learned that some people are irritated by smokers to the point they want them banned from the park. I don't take that personally, i don't go to the ballpark or restaurants anymore, I'm used to it.

But I'm now aware of people that can't tolerate smoke to the point they have to avoid rides with smoke effects, water effects, the front part of the KI train, home fireworks shows. Cookouts, BBQs, campfires, bonfires, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, Haunted parks, incense, potpourri burners, some birthday parties, and the list goes on. Their list of banned places must be far longer than my list of places I can't go.

It has to be terrible for them to avoid a lot of fun places.
