Beech Bend Park Announces Expansion Plan – Includes 5 New Rides
Press Release – December 8, 2014

Beech Bend Park President, Dallas Jones, shakes hands to seal the deal with Zamperla Rides’ Ramon Rosario to bring an all new attraction to Bowling Green’s Beech Bend Park. “Air Race” is a brand new ride experience, and it takes riders on an amazing journey, replicating the experiences and sensations of an acrobatic airplane flight. Banks, loops, dives and weightlessness will test even the most experienced thrill seekers. The action takes place up to 30 feet above the ground and “pilots” experience accelerations of almost 3G’s, right side up and upside down.

Air Race is only one of five new rides coming to Beech Bend Park in 2015! Among the other new rides is a beautiful carousel swing from Italian ride manufacturer, Bertazzon. “We had been thinking about a new swing ride for a couple of years. The swing we ordered is a gorgeous ride with very intricate, hand painted panels and a beautiful light package”, commented Jones. The Park is asking for help from the public to name the new carousel swing. Visit the park’s Facebook page or tag the park’s Twitter handle (@BeechBendPark) to enter your name suggestion and you could win tickets to Beech Bend Park and Splash Lagoon in 2015!

The Park also purchased a new children’s ride named “Monster Truck” which will have kids squealing with delight as they pop wheelies, crush cars and climb over obstacles. The last two additions to Beech Bend for 2015 include a Sizzler and Tornado to replace existing versions of similar older rides. Beech Bend also plans to complete numerous improvement projects in the park and Splash Lagoon this offseason.

I'm now thinking I might have to squeeze a "Kentucky Parks" trip into my plans this summer at some point (take a weekend to visit both Beech Bend and Kentucky Kingdom).
