Simmer down now. That is the stage for the music this weekend during the food truck event. I was there today and the trucks smelled awesome. I wish they did this every weekend. The food variety was great. This event was a great idea. Also the parking lot is getting pretty darn close to edge near Great Wolf Lodge.

I would love to see one of these slides at Soak City next year.

It's been a while since an actual slide was built in Soak City. Other than the re-theme, it's just about the same as I remember from when little 6 year old me went to Boomerang Bay in 2006.

Is it just me, or does that look like a big giant Vacuum cleaner? Lol! If anyone witnessed Coaster Stock, bringing back the Antique cars is not impossible. They could still do it, but have to be creative this time around. There is plenty of land between Banshee and Adventure Express.

No plastic on Blue Streak except the bumpers...

Now, when it comes to Vueronica (which is now in my phone's autocorrect dictionary, sadly) my body panels will never dent, though

Or rust, quite unlike the body panels from another car company that Has Only Normal, Dull Attributes.

This thread took an interesting turn. I was driving with intense Focus so I'm not really sure what we're talking about anymore.

Perhaps you need an Escort? Sometimes, the best discussions take place Outback. The garden of ideas can always use a Forester.

Remember, a certain Chevy dealer. At least at the park. Don't just Cruz on by.

Time to Crosstrek back to announcements, Tony.

Unless they make an electric version of the Antique Car, you will not see them return. I highly doubt this is for any announcement as they would have some sort of teaser.  The management has way too much fun teasing, to pass an opportunity.

Valleyfair, less than 2 years ago installed new Antique Cars/track.  I have no idea what powered them, but they made a sound that would imply they are not electric (could be fake I know), so it is certainly possible to install them in some form or fashion within the chain.  The physical layout wasn't that big, not as big as what I remember from KI's old course, but memory is a bit faulty at times, I think a layout could work in that area.  There is much less elevation change than I realized where that stage is at.

Platform appears near old 'Tiques location.

Begin speculating that we're getting new 'Tiques.

Platform's actual purpose is found to not be for any announcement.

Continue talking about possibility of new antique cars.

I love this site sometimes (only teasing, I've taken part in similar conversations here before)

Could even just cover up the view to Backlot with a lot of trees even. A covered bridge would be a good block though across it, but I think trees would have less impact on BLSC. IF you used a bridge to block it, it would make the Antique Cars look better and that area have more of a garden feel to it, but then you'd have the other side of the bridge as a big eyesore to BLSC. Not the optimal choice but I suppose you could make the backside of the bridge facing BLSC into a giant billboard and it would fit in with the theming and not break it up too much.

I do think that the area back there would be great for an Antique Car ride though, but to get a good layout would need to use both the remaining area of the old location not taken up by BLSC and the area where the stage was put next to Diamondback. Could have a bridge over the walking path there to connect the two parts. This would give a good amount of space for a single track and still have a spread out feeling that can be landscaped nicely. If it was just in one of the spots it would either be a short ride or just be a mass of concrete for the cars to travel on and probably not look as nice.

I'm noticing the Cedar Fair is updating their entrances with new rides, and completely new buildings. I'm not one to say Kings Island should change things like this, but it's possible that other parks will be on the list, and this list does have Kings Island written on it.

Hmm...  They could use the elevator to test the waters, so to speak, with an above-gate restaurant.  They could always rebuild the entrance plaza with a similar feature and perhaps even reuse the elevator.

That said, we've only seen two such front gate rebuilds so far.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves and assume that the concept will be used everywhere.

It should be noted that KI did add an elevator to the front gate this year.  It is located to the left of the entrance, right in the area where they used to display promotional items.  They reconfigured the stairs and storefront in that area to accommodate the elevator.

They do not HAVE to make a move.  People will still go to Kings Island next year, even if they do not add a single new attraction.  How many typical families from Cincinnati are going to make the trek down to Santa Claus, IN?  Or down to Kentucky Kingdom?

YEa and even if they did go to those places they don't exactly offer the same experience. Kings Island is much bigger than both and offers many more thrills. Each has some unique aspects but Holiday World and KK each just have a handful of coasters and thrill rides.

Last time a 15 million dollar attraction was added , Kings Island DID make a move. Now I'm not saying this for certain, but Kings Island does need to be aware. These two parks are tapping at markets that Kings Island draws from.

Better question, and a more important question: How many typical Cincinnati families will go to Holiday World or Kentucky Kingdom INSTEAD of Kings Island.

I'd reckon most, if not all, of the people from Cincinnati likely to visit either park are likely also the type to have a Kings Island season pass. The "one park visit a year" crowd will probably spend that day at KI, or maybe Cedar Point... But would certainly not trek 2-3 hours for a park as small as Kentucky Kingdom or Holiday World.

Heck, when it comes to a certain portion of the Kings Island clientele (people like me), it's probably technically better for KI that I go to Kentucky Kingdom. Because when I go to KI, I park for free, enter for free, and eat for free (well, paid in advance, but at this point they have the cash whether I go or not). If I go to HW or KK, then I'm not at Kings Island using their resources without spending money.

Flip side to that, of course, is that if I go to a different park, I'm likely to tell my friends what a great time I had there and advertise them for free (unless that park is Mt. Olympus, in which case I'll tell all my friends to STAY AWAY).
