PKIDelirium 453
Then again, I may be completely wrong. From the recent flyover pictures, it's difficult to tell. Does anyone have a picture of that lot from the FoF pavilion? Not my pic and just shows the helipad, but close.
CoastersRZ 5925
And keep in mind that the helipad was slightly raised up from the FoF midway and outdoor queue. Yes, it may drop off towards the back, but with grading and some extra tall footings, it wouldn`t be anything that would make the ride look out of place.
trueTEXAN1990 0
I think with queue lines, themeing (if any), and a station the area they have cleared will be just about right for x-flight and by the way great pics Captian Nemo.
TOPGUN1993 6145
Nice pic Don http://photos.pkicentral.com/albums/userpi...Flyover6262.jpg This is what it looked like before.
CoasterXtreme 180
Xfight is almost all torn apart just the supports left to take down. Check the pics out at http://www.geaugalaketoday.com/ It is looking like it could be back up and running in the spring. See you on the midway!
fryler87 7
See you on the midway! at Fort Cooper I had some fun with Google Earth today (it's winter break, and I'm bored) and it's going to be a tight squeeze if no more is cleared than what was in the aerials from a few weeks back. CoastersRZ 5925
CoasterXtreme, there is still more track to come down from X-Flight. It is just not shown in the pictures. Essentially, they are working their way backwards from the brake run back to the station. They are currently at the turn right after the vertical loop, and still have a significant portion of track to take down. But, they have made a lot of progress in about a weeks worth of time. It won`t be long before the ride is completely gone from GL. I`d imagine it also won`t be long before they load the first batch of supports onto trailers for their destination at a yet to be announced destination.
TOPGUN1993 6145
WOW , X-Flight is being taken down fast. 131,000 post in PKIC history goes to TOPGUN edit: Gir now I'm 131,

CoastersRZ 5925
Actually, more than that is gone. Yes, the portion that you circled is gone, but they have also removed all the track to just about where the track crosses over the start of the lift hill. And, that black box in the upper left corner better not be the photographer`s tag. If it is, you should not have deleted it, but kept it and given credit to the photographer who took the above image. trueTEXAN1990 0
there is no box, there is a tag that says: Photo: Shawn Kay Coasterglobe.com
CoastersRZ 5925
When he originally posted that picture, he had covered up that tag with a black box. Doing something like that or cropping the image without giving credit where credit is due is a big mistake. That is akin to plagiarism.
TOPGUN1993 6145
I fixed it with in 2 mins. Sorry
CoastersRZ 5925
I know. No worries. It is all resolved now. I was just letting him know what went on. If you had images lifted off of your site and someone else claiming that they were their pictures, you wouldn`t be the happiest camper in the world. I speak from experience on the subject. The Interpreter 82068
That picture must have been from the early Six Flags days, as the parking lot appears to be nearly full. That hasn't happened very often in a very long time (or perhaps it was taken during Cleveland Clinic day!) I wonder if and if so, how drastically, X Flight's removal will affect attendance at Geauga Lake. My guess is not much. . .

RailRider 4173
Just some quick notes. X-Flight is coming to KI, very logical. For a company that is looking to cut costs and save money this makes perfect sense. Smaller footprint and less maintence costs at GL, which is struggling to reestablish itselt in the Cleveland market. Logistically this is going to be easy transportation from GL to KI and also fairly inexspensive for moving a coaster from one park to another. Will help boost attendance at KI which has not had a major thrilling attraction in a few years, this is not for famlies. KI is the #2 park under Cedar Fair, Cedar Point is still the flagship and always will be. Also what better way to help 2 parks and one with a major addition without spending a lot of money compared to building a new coaster from the ground up. Concerning the clearing of land. You can always make land flat with grading, so Im sure this piece of land will be as flat as the parking lot in which X-Flight orginally flew. Also it is easier to remove all trees, build the ride, and plant new trees. For a big coaster X-Flight has a pretty compact layout which would make it more dificult to build around trees, unlike a coaster like The Beast which is very spread out. It's not some sort of pointbuzz exclusive but rather a press release from Cedar Fair. It also has been discussed quite a bit on these boards: http://www.pkicentral.com/forums/index.php...c=8730&st=
RailRider 4173
PointBuzz is normaly a day late and a dollar short, because they will not even allow specualtion on something regarding any of the Cedar Fair parks because of their relation with the company. Hence when ScreamScape broke the Maverick story with pictures of the artwork, Pointbuzz pulled the forum and banned the pics. Im not really a fan of Pointbuzz because they do not allow as much free speculation and discussion about the park or parks. Unlike PKIC, which has a great relationship with the park and always has exclusives. Here we are allowed to discuss speculation and rumors that tend to be true. If the tables were turned Pointbuzz would have pulled the forums discussing the removal of the SoB loop and also X-Flight coming. So just becareful what you read on Pointbuzz because a lot of it has been screened, thats why the community there is nowhere near like PKICs

We have a very unique relationship with the park in which the park trusts us enough to put content on the site that could be shaky... it's matter of how it's handed. On the upside, you guys get the most exclusive content. They realize that it's not in their best interest to shun enthusiasts, but rather keep them intrigued. That's what we're here for. The Interpreter 82068
Indeed. They also realise this board is frequented by people of all walks of life... from kids greatly enthused by their favorite park to coaster nuts to people who adore the parks as parks to show people to those who have their hearts, souls and money tied up in the industry to people with a deep interest in the workings of modern theme parks to people who have either worked in the industry or currently do. And others who are here for who knows what reasons!
