    • I'm down here currently in Orlando and visited the Studios and Islands the last two days - didn't do Epic this time around but look forward to doing this in the future. My last visit was in 2009, most things were different, but some were the same as I remember, especially ET, The Simpsons, and Men in Black, Spider-Man, and The Incredible Hulk. Had high expectations for VelociCoaster going in based on what I've heard from other people who've ridden; Maverick at Cedar Point is one of my favorite rides, so I'm sure that it wouldn't disappoint. I got three rides in - two on Thursday right at open in the front row and back row, and one yesterday at open in Row 2. Front row was fun but for me, the best ride out of the three was in the very back, especially after that second launch into the top hat. Tried to get a night ride last night however lightning kept the ride down - lo and behold, from the time it took me to walk from the back of the park to CityWalk, it began operation.  My opinion, blows Maverick out of the water. Hagrid's was another ride I heard about but didn't really research before I went, fun little ride, especially the drop track. Got my credit on Rip Ride Rockit, but found it to be a tad too rough, especially for a steel coaster. I'm no Harry Potter fan but the theming for Hagrids, and the sections over in Islands and the Studios were top notch. Hogwarts Express was phenomenal and was well presented. Based on my experiences on Gringotts, Hagrid's, and VelociCoaster, Intamin didn't disappoint - here's to hoping Six Flags/Cedar Fair start to put more of their rides in.    I'll be at Busch Gardens Tampa Monday or Tuesday, especially looking forward to comparing Iron Gwazi to Steel Vengeance.
    • If it remains an amusement park, how much would Six Flags see it as competition with KD being two hours away and Dorney being three? I don't see United buying it at all since BGW is two and a half hours away. Herschend would be nice but I doubt they're looking to acquire any more parks at the moment given that they just picked up Kennywood, Idlewild, etc. earlier this year.
    • It looks like the discrepancy is that Six Flags wants to sell it to a developer but the municipality/locals want to keep it as a park. I'm sure it would be a similar situation to what is happening with CGA's land, where the city was going to try to save some of the park until the developer won out. Lots of people online also keep trying to choose which chain should buy up the land (there's also a lot of racism in the comments). Some are suggesting Herschend (very unlikely), others are suggesting United (maybe if the SeaWorld name didn't carry so much baggage), and a few just keep talking about how Six Flags and Cedar Fair chose where to invest. Then you have the commenters suggesting a new Universal park as everyone else tears up at the idea of Disney's America finally happening after nearly 30 years.  A new Disney's America would be interesting, and it wouldn't necessarily be the worst idea if Disney is willing to put a lot of work into it. A good amount of infrastructure is already there on site, there's already some general theming in place, and Six Flags will probably cart away whatever they can while leaving a largely blank slate. Most of the stuff behind Wild One would probably be completely redeveloped while the rest of the rides and coasters would be demolished and replaced. Universal just built a much bigger park from scratch. I can imagine there's at least one Imagineer who'll be pulling out their sketchbook this weekend and drafting ideas for a new Disney's America to be located near Bowie, MD.  I won't say it's likely at all, but again, it wouldn't be the worst idea for Disney to do it.
    • She specifically mentioned they want an amusement park in the video among other entertainment options.
    • It is being sold for redevelopment.  Better info in this video. https://youtu.be/OgMeILBbjq4 Here is the property listing: https://www.cbredealflow.com/handler/modern.aspx?pv=Z-I9J549zUFsSziezRAUlDpkNDIIt7xMO5qE_h7gISzRPnQ5IPCRP7U1-PRJGopf#_top
