  1. Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I was just wondering. It's been a few years since I last went to the park and my wife is a bit big (like around 350) especially her waist. Most rides are off the table but I forget if Congo has a seat belt or restraint of any kind. If she can slide in the row it might be one she can do. Can anyone confirm if it has any type of restraint?
  2. Went last night with my girlfriend and despite the chilly rain we had a great time. Did a couple rides but mainly went for the mazes and haunt attractions. Hardly any wait all night and it was a lot of fun. Sent from my LG-M150 using Tapatalk
  3. He saw and responded to the tweet. No big info, but to say I'm giddy to get this response, worth it. Sent from my LG-M150 using Tapatalk
  4. That's awesome! Haven't heard a response from Mr. Priestly (like I said, not likely) but that's a fun bit of production trivia!
  5. Bumping this because I tweeted at Jason Priestly this morning regarding this special. He seems fairly active on his account. Interested to see if he responds at all. Likely not, but still. My one chance at this.
  6. I was 13 when Paramount bought out KECO. At the time I was a bit disappointed. I felt I was going to lose the uniqueness of my home park and now it was just be like a midwest Disney/Universal type. That never happened thankfully. I was also a huge movie geek growing up so things like "The Paramount Story" walkthrough, the movie posters and themeing in gift shops, those first few years really were cool to me. And Top Gun operating with all its effects and full queue was pretty darn cool too.
  7. I got a free trial week at Newspaper.com, which has an online database of hundreds of thousands of newspapers dating back to the 1700s. But I've been getting a kick out of searching Kings Island and getting hits of its 46 year history. From covering company sales, to general previews around the opening of a season, new ride previews and the tragic incidents it's quite a fun trip.
  8. Nah, it's just how our imaginations + clever advertising can sometimes create a ride in our minds that reality doesn't live up to lol.
  9. As a child of the 80's (born in 1979) some of my earliest memories were of new ride advertisement for Kings Island, both TV and radio. I disntinctly recall ads in 1985 promoting White Water Canyon, 1986 promoting the flats added to Coney Mall (Skylab, Zephyr and new Dodgems) and 1987 and Vortex. Cut to 1988 and I remember the promotion for the then Amazon Falls. I was thinking it was going to be another rapids type ride like WWC, the ads made it seem like you'd be travelling deep into the "jungle" before the big drop. Imagine my disappointment when I go to the park and see the ride is just go up a hill, turn 180 degrees and then drop down. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Congo Falls for exactly what it is but 9 year old me could only think "That's It!?!" Do you have any memories of rides you thought were going to be way different than they were based on the ads for them?
  10. Yesterday was a pretty nice day all things considered. I work in Englewood, north of Dayton, and headed down after work at 3pm, hit the storm on I-75 between Franklin and just before Route 63. But that meant that aside from a few sprinkles weather was clear if cloudy at the park. Spent 5 hours and was a great way to unwind after work. These are the reasons I have a Gold Pass. 11. At the Reds Grill last night I had the All American Dog and I was very satisfied. Amazing that such a simple hot dog with bacon and cheese could be that good but it really was. Plus plenty of shredded cheese left for sprinkling on my saratoga chips lol.
  12. Had one on The Bat myself a few weeks ago. It was during ERT in the morning. Just me in the front car. Peaceful and thrilling. Sent from my LG-M150 using Tapatalk
  13. I rode Firehawk once in my life back in 2010. And it made me feel awful. Never been on it again since. Finally rode Invertigo this summer. Made me a bit woozy but not to the point that I would never ride it again. But I'm in no hurry either lol.
  14. Saturday I was in line for Race For Your Life Charlie Brown and I lightly bumped this small girl on her head with my elbow. I immediately apologized and she said to me "It's not your fault it's my brother. He takes up all the room!"
