Regardless of the show, we hear the same arguments every time it is a new show LOL. Some loved Ed Alonzo and saw it lots of times, while others saw it once and was done or decided not to watch it at all because it was just magic. Same for the Cirque's, Phantom Theatre Encore, and any other show the park does. Same will happen to this show - some will love it and watch it lots of times, and others will watch it once and be done or decide not to watch it at all because it is just bubbles. Whether it is budget related or not, just be glad we are getting something and something other than an all new music review LOL. Meanwhile the Kings Dominion Theater has sat vacant since covid. That could be the other option...

I'm in my 50's and still love the rides. But I find some days I just like to go and see shows, atmosphere, food, shop, etc. is just as much enjoyment as hitting all the rides. But basically, I have to be in the mood now to just do rides all day.

My "puppeteer"? What on earth are you blathering about? Anyway, is it fair to say that your kids won't like this show?

All other parks that have hosted this show didn’t really go back to the well for a second go-around. I know, I know… the reaction is “as adorable as it is predictable” as your puppeteer says, but if you look at the two other parks that have hosted this show, SeaWorld was in dire straights financially and replaced their expensive cirque show with this for a short time and Dollywood needed something quick, fast and inexpensive. Neither of those parks have revisited this show after the initial run. The show may be okay, it may not. This is clearly a fast and inexpensive solution that likely is a downgrade from previous years. Claiming that anyone who doesn’t end up liking the show is simply not in the right demographic is a lie. Don’t sell me an end table when I can clearly see it’s a desk lamp.

Sure has for me. I’ll be 32 this summer, and the vists my wife and I do typically consist of 1-3 rides, dinner, drinks, shopping, and maybe a show. We just enjoy taking in all the atmosphere. My enjoyment of the park has evolved a bit and I really love it. So, even if you’re unable to handle the same consecutive rides as you did in the past, you can still have a great time.

Fiesta Texas built a B&M Dive Coaster of similar scale that opened in 2022, and even purchased 4 trains even though it can at max operate with 3. Just so they can always have one train being rebuilt and still operate at maximum capacity. If they are willing to make that kind of investment, it honestly looks and feels a lot like we could still see rides like Iron Menace. Because they literally just built a very similar ride that with the extra trains, Iron Menace only runs two, likely cost more. Top Thrill 2 was a special case, but it’s also a similar investment to what Six Flags has done building their topper track RMC conversions, although these were done under previous management. Taking an existing ride and renovating it with a modified layout, new trains, etc. A better question is would they have done rides at the scale of Fury 325, Orion, Steel Vengeance, etc. The rides where Cedar Fair has built attractions on a scale that few other parks have been willing to do.

They added a dive to FT in 2022

Officially mid-way into my 50's now and my love for KI, coasters and amusement parks in general has not faded one bit since I was a young kid. But my tolerance level sure has! Multiple rides on The Beast, Mystic, Diamondback, and Orion don't really bother me too much...but I pace myself now and try to hit the bumper cars or some other kind to the head and stomach rides in between. Even though I am in good shape for my age, coasters with inversions such as Banshee, I am one and done for awhile depending how long I plan staying at a park any one day. My equilibrium just isn't what it used to be unfortunately. Loops didn't used to bother me, but in the last few years, even with trying anti-nausea pills, I just cannot ride coasters with loops near as much as I want. But, saying that, I love to ride RMC's and the inversions in them don't affect me as bad. Strange! Of course, when I was a kid, the Rotor about killed me as far as that goes. I was so sick after riding that! I was so embarrassed! I never could really handle any ride that spins. Even as a kid. Build a 500ft rollercoaster though, and I'd be first in line.

I think more or less my patience waiting for rides has dropped with age. Anything over a 45 minute wait and I’m not happy. This number dwindles with each visit to the park. So after 20 or so visits to Kings Island, any with a line over 20 minutes seemed long. Another change as I aged is what I can and cannot eat at the park.

I am willing to give it a chance. Obviously we are all disappointed Phantom Theatre Encore is not coming back or it's caliber of production. The cast made it feel personal too.. But this new show just feels like cost reduction. I just think I will not be willing to go see it 3, 4 or 10 times like I did for the previous show. But who know??

Only during "Prestige Only shows"

In my guess, I'm not so sure if TT2 would've happened under a Six Flags ownership unless the state of Ohio forced Cedar Point to significantly modify the ride (which I believe is the case), and in that regard it most likely would've been Intamin, as they are continuing to work with Six Flags, and I believe Ka has been much more consistent than Dragster in terms of operation, and don't get me wrong, some of it is by design with the ability to launch fewer trains an hour, with achieving more throughput and less downtime verses the original Top Thrill Dragster. As for Iron Menace I don't believe that would've changed too much, as KenBan already said, Six Flags is more than willing to invest in a big new ride like a B&M dive coaster, and even new trains for new and existing rides, I think Dorney has a pretty bright future ahead of it if this project goes well for them, and I don't think it would've changed anything for Dorney.

I think the days of building large rides like Fury 325 are likely over. Why spend $40 million on a ride, when you can spend $30 million for a slightly smaller ride that will still be marketable and bring in about the same number of guests? It all comes down to return on investment. It will be interesting to see if the Cedar Fair or Six Flags strategy of capital expenditures comes into play. Remember there was a time a few seasons back where Six Flags wanted to add zero new attractions to any of their parks.

Just curious about the demographics here - how many of you complaining about this show have kids? There are already a ton of things for adults to do, and comparatively little that kids can do, and even less that kids and parents can enjoy together. To that end, and speaking from a parent's perspective, this show seems like a crowd pleaser.

TTD would likely of had work done on it from Intamin since SIX is currently having a coaster built by the company, and it would have been cheaper to bundle. Iron Menace would likely have not been a thing considering the last ground up B&M built at a SIX park was X-Flight in 2012.

It depends on the ride. For example, something like Orion/Millie and even Mysti are incredibly too easy to marathon without any issues for me. But I can't marathon a coaster with inversions. I marathoned Banshee on Media Day and that was the last time I did that. I can manage maybe 2X in a row on a coaster with inversions, but any more than that and I am done. The only exception to the rule on marathoning inverting coasters has been with RMC hybrids. For some reason they don't bother me the way other types of inverting coasters do. The only thing RMC hybrids do that would make me tap out are the punishment the lap bars give

I sure hope they put the yellow slippery when soapy signs everywhere.

Hope this isn’t true. The show’s run has to come to an end eventually, but I was hoping for something of the same caliber to replace it. This sounds kinda lame.
