^ For what it's worth, I'll likely be wearing shorts at the park tomorrow if the forecast stays as-is. I'd rather risk being a bit chilly than risk something flying out of an unsecured pant pocket. Some people need more to stay warm than others. I tend to be somewhat tolerant of both temperature extremes.

Not to mention that no one knows or can know at this point if or how many lawsuits may be filed for incidents/injuries/economic loss attributed to these rides and occurring prior to now. Browntggrr has it exactly, more so than whatever is causing these rides to shut down, it is the multi-hour rescues that are a serious, unacceptable problem for the parks, riders, and the manufacturer. Such waits are not just publicity nightmares, they are unacceptable in many, many ways; including safety, customer experiences, and now even from a litigation exposure standpoint. Typically, litigation is not filed until just prior to the expiration of statutes of limitation. If and when that happens, there will be more publicity. Especially in California, I'd not assume none of the riders will be litigating. I'm the one in the blue YMCA shirt and was prepared with a raincoat and extra sweatshirt that night. Thanks for letting me be in the picture even though I wasn't really a KIC member yet! I had a great night, glad to meet you all. Thanks for helping encourage ohiocolts to try new and frightful things. Too bad he wasn't up for going in every maze. Nobody was there and we could have easily gone through everything!

Besides, a reason to not go on that ride again? Make whatever choices you need to make, but that's like hearing about a rollback and deciding to never ride Maverick again. Pony Express? That's a different story.

It is strange that they were wearing their sweatshirt with the hoodie tied under their neck and freezing al the while they were wearing shorts. As the day gets colder and the night approaches, they would had wished they had long pants on. But we might had a sale on sweat pants with KI's logo on it.

Even today, I still observed several young guys wearing shorts and a light sweatshirt. I joked with them saying, you are wearing the sweatshirt with the hood pulled you head and you still wore shorts? They just shrugged it off. I said to myself, don't schools teach common sense anymore? Folks, it is no longer summer but fall with fall temperatures. Dress for the weather even if it is sunny out. The temps will drop and you will be glad you wore a jacket and cloths meant for the cold temps.

Yes. In fact, if you look to your right on the ground just before you enter the station part of the queue, you can see one next to the entrance of the shed where they park the trains at night. There's also a few of them under the helix and the first four inversions. During any given cycle of mine on Vortex, I've counted at least 6 or 7, or maybe even 8, at the most.

Now i know you guys said that Don said that he wants SOB to look like it never existed, but what if they kept just the station? This way the new roller coaster can go into it and they save some money on removing steel. I'm sure whatever they plan on building they can alter the new ride in that station. I'm still hoping a ride like Maverick goes in SOB spot. Maybe the world's longest of it's type.

Vekoma's Giant Inverted Boomerangs had a habit of valleying in the cobra roll, and had huge scaffolds and staircases added pretty quickly once that started happening. BEFORE: AFTER: REALLY AFTER: Definitely not insinuating that Flight of Fear really did valley there. Just sayin'. Plus, the original poster is going by what his friend said. Even many of us here might be baffled by the layout of Flight of Fear, so it's much more likely that the ride was stopped on the midcourse brakes (more than it normally is, I mean) and people were unloaded from there. As you can see, the MCBR is about at the same height as the cobra roll, so a guest surveying the room in darkness would be confused.

If you sat up there three hours during the latest Knott's incident, you'd still have had about 40 more minutes to wait. Imagine all the things going through your mind at three hours, as you wouldn't know for sure how much longer it may be...ten minutes? Three more hours? All while nervously hoping for a safe rescue, perhaps sitting embarrassed in a puddle or worse, having children on the ground perhaps, missed a ride home from the park or a wedding or even a funeral...all manner of things. Imagine the pacts with the Almighty. Lord, if I get down from here safely, I'll....

Disclaimer: i am usually 99% tongue-in-cheek on this site and very rarely take a serious counter-point to someone's view- and I don't mean to make an issue of this but wanted to take a moment to chime in on this. If a ride such as WS were to stall out at 300'... there has to be a quicker way to bring them down to earth. Personally I have been on the ride 3-4 times this year- enjoy the ride (no my favorite, but a decent ride). My digestive system is such that if I were "trapped" in a situation and not able to get out for 3 hours... there'd be problems. I've had these problems most of my 39 year life and have learned to manage them- 3 hours is outside my manageable time frame. So, as to say, people who may have issue with the length of time getting down aren't sissies as stated. I know that you're probably not looking at it from this perspective- but this issue, while probably doesn't affect the overall "safety" of the ride, it will affect my decision making process when determining "if" I will ride again. Hopefully their "investigation" goes into contingency plans of how to bring the gondola down quicker- or I may have possibly taken my last ride on WS. Just thoughts from the balcony.

KIExtreme is the reason I became friends with certain enthusiasts and still talk to them today. When it was in its prime, as standbyme said, the community was fantastic, even though it was so small. Even though the community was much more minuscule than KIC, I remember being much more active and constantly talking to many of the active members (some of which I still do). The website was also constantly updated with new features like KITunes (PKI Unlimited, anyone?), a great photo gallery, desktop wallpapers, and history section (sigh). The fact it was ad-free was pretty nice as well. Such a shame what a waste of potential KIE had. There were some really fantastic things that were in the works and it had potential to be such a great resource for information for both enthusiasts and curious common-goers alike.

Anyone that knocks KI Extreme did not know the site it in it's prime...which was the problem. No matter how much great content they added, they couldn't seem to draw a big audience. There was/is no justice. No Kings Island fan website ever had more of an enthusiast heart than KI Extreme. "Don't let it be forgot. That once there was a spot. For one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot."

I joined KIE back in 2010 and posted about 2 times. You would be lucky if there was even one other member online at a time. One thing I always loved about KIC is how it still attracts a large crowd and let's hope that never changes,

I don't understand why people are trying to figure out locations for new rides within the current park area if KI owns mass amounts of land that is untouched.

It means you will climb high in the world, and go gradually down. It also means you should knock off the LaRosa's and Skyline after 6 p.m. Terpy, who knows these things

A bizzare dream I had a few weeks ago- Son of Beast reopened after the recent injury, with new trains.Trains that looked like...baby carriages!?!? Wheels and all. Yes, I rode it in the dream. And it was rough (I even woke up with back pain!), though I have never rode Son of Beast in real life (I have said it before, KI trips are rare for me and the one time we went recently, on May 16th, SOB broke down). Perhaps I was given this dream by the image of SOB shown at the end of "The Beast: 25 Years of Terror" film on Google Video... Yep. Imagine that, but larger for adults, and on Son of Beast and you'll get the idea...and all the cars had the SOB Logo on the side.

I had a dream that I met Terpy at the park but he was kind of like Wilson from Home Improvement and was always somehow hiding the lower half of his face.

Share some with me, would you? Not having any this off-season is starting to tick me off. It keeps the withdrawals to a minimum. And no...it's not just you. The dream that made me the maddest was a dream I had that LeSourdsville Lake was open again. I was sitting in the train of the Screechin' Eagle ready to dispatch and woke up via the alarm. Needless to say, I was MAD. Just take a look at my avatar - that's a photo of Screechin' Eagle. The words "dare-to-fly" were printed on the back of the train. We're big fans.
