Didn't Kings Island send out a survey a few years ago about Planet Snoopy, with a "playground" and an air conditioned indoor dining space being the top two things most talked about? We are getting the playground and the dining turned into PigPens mess hall, a finger food counter service location. I get finger foods for a kids area, and the theme for the place looks good. But it's not air conditioned for the parents and it's really just replacing an eatery that was demolished, that was rarely open.3 points

Anyone who goes up there this weekend please give us all a full report on the ride and on the que times (fastlane and standby). Thanks in advance!3 points

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but the USA Today best theme park came out today and Kings Island did not even make the list this year. Last year it was ranked number 2 this year it went unranked. https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/best-theme-park-2024/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

It’s an awful mindless theme. Additionally, I don’t know why Six Flags is so big on this ugly theme because they have to pay licensing fees for it. they set the ground work long ago for a Transylvania of Action Zone with Banshee and Bat. They should finish that job.2 points

He's talking about a survey in 2021. Here's the thread from then:1 point

The USA Today 10 best lists are a terrible listing of the 10 best anything. They are little more than a popularly contest and really just show how fanatical the fans are. But that’s the problem, Kings Island has almost always over performed, because of the parks huge fan base. Kings Island placed first for the best Halloween event at a theme park a few years ago beating Universal, Busch Gardens and a lot of frankly better events due to the strength of its fan base. A fan base who seems not willing to go vote for the park like they did only a few years ago.1 point

Misleading title, the 2024 season has only just begun for some of those parks. Cedar Point hasn’t even opened for the regular season?1 point

I imagine it will stay around the same amount of time because unless the general queue is a walk on Fastlane is at least 20 minutes because of the merge point.1 point

I mean, what do you think they are doing here? It's not like they are letting the public pick a specific ride or layout. They are very general descriptions (Subject to Change, Caveat Emptor, etc). It's not like the highest votes are going to win, it just gives them a general idea of what their passholders would like to see.1 point

While I am sad to see the Melt go, this food location has always struggled through the years from a Pizza Hut, Snoopy’s Grill, to Melt. With all the food failures at this location I would think this location will become the new Prestige lounge similar to what occurred at Carowinds.1 point

I'm not too sure about the wait time being exteremly long. Basically because of the restrictions. Most people will need to get a locker and those will be at a premium this year. My guess is it won't hit 2 hours untill word spreads or they do a SV type locker system.1 point

I'm sure that was a fun offseason to be an Ohio thoosie with the development of Nick Universe as well as Skyhawk and the early development of Maverick at CP. I was 3 and in my first year of preschool at the time and wasn't into KI at the time. I didn't start being that interested in KI until a few years later lol so obviously I have no memory of this. You know whats kinda funny is there are sorta some parallels between this season and the 2006 season with KI opening an expanded kids area and the upcoming potential Six Flags merger that sounds very similar to 2006 with the Nick U expansion and the CF aquisition that summer. Makes me wonder if we're about to see history repeat itself (I hope not as Camp Snoopy looks so nice).1 point

Man, Nick Universe was a lot of fun. And as I alluded to in past posts in this thread, NU was the reason I came across this site all those years ago. So it has a special place in my heart. That was a cool off season leading up to NU. I remember riding in the back of my parents car on the interstate and passing the park, just being able to catch a glimpse of Avatar with my old camcorder. The hype was real. At least for me. I was at the right age for all of that, honestly. It was the best. Being born in the early 90’s, I grew up with Nicktoons and the Hannah Barbara stuff on Cartoon Network. It made going to the park feel like going to Disneyland. Wild. I do wish there was still a place at the park for the HB characters. I miss them.1 point

Came across this old commercial from 2006. Anyone remember this commercial from back then? Also I had no idea the area behind Surf Dog (then Avatar) was known as "Dora's Explorer Corner" which makes sense seeing how the rides back there were themed around Dora the Explorer lol1 point

Cool concept, but I don't think a revived Phantom Theater would work in Rivertown as Rivertown is more of a rustic/western type town and I don't feel like a Haunted Theater would really fit that. Now, maybe a Haunted Saloon or Mineshaft with some Phantom Theater references could work. Imo a revived Phantom Theater would work either in the Boo Blasters building or in Action Zone (rethemed to a more Haunted area).1 point

What a glowing review LOL. I have felt the same about the mac&cheese and felt like the desserts being made in house should be better.1 point

I received this as well, but figured I wouldn't be the one to leak it. To me the indoor/outdoor rollercoaster sounds like the best concept to me, especially if it makes use of the tomb raider building. Done right, it could really be a stand out attraction. They threw in a Revenge of the Mummy ride photo from universal. Something even close to that would be awesome. With the right theming and a switch track or drop track, this really would be something KI would benefit from. I also like the idea of the multi-launch family coaster, but to me it just resembles a larger version of Soap Box Racers. I would also rather not have another shuttle. It works fine for a shorter layout, but not for something that size, for a park with the volume of KI. KI could have two gigas , I love Yukon striker, but I just feel we have better gaps in our lineup to be filled than a dive1 point

Which demonstrates that there is a demand for healthier, tasty food. Duh. Now figure out how to keep up.1 point

If the public donates 5.7 mil by all means they will restore moonlight gardens but if the already financially hurting general public doesn't find it in their checkbooks to pay for the renovations the CSO will say it's too expensive and that'll be the end of it....while they secretly sit on 100mil in the bank!0 points
