They didn't announce it when they were still running to give last rides, so what difference does it make when they announce it during the off-season at this point? It was first suggested on KIC these rides were being eliminated on January 10th and KK makes it official and announces it today (54 days). Let's back up just a few months ago to when Six Flags made announcements in shorter times from when the rumor got out until the official announcement for rides at other Six parks. We have all known about these KK closures for a longer duration of time than what has elapsed concerning Skyflyer....which was first mentioned on February 24th, so as long as KI officially announces it by Passholder preview day, then they announced it faster than KK did from rumor to actual date.... We may not like it, but it is clear this is the industry trend at this moment. And it is clear Six Flags is leading this trend1 point

You'll enjoy your first Coasterstock. Historically it rains during the event but that just adds to the fun.1 point

The successfulness of the event will be determined on May 30-31 by those involved. I, for one, am attending my first ever Coasterstock and couldn't be more excited. At least this year, with it taking longer to sell out, people were not experiencing website glitches (like the "buy now" button not appearing) that kept them from being able to attend the event.1 point

Mystic Timbers has become my favorite night ride, particularly during the Haunt when fog is covering that area as well. Just completely insane and out of control.1 point

It will be essential they get news media outlets throughout the region to do a standalone story on this now, and they follow up talking about it as part of the opening day stories. Otherwise, as you mention, guest services is going to have a very hard time.1 point

It costs way more to maintain a large structure and keep staffing when you could be losing money vs having a plot of land ready to go for a new expansion opportunity. I'll say this now, I know there will be something being removed at KI without a doubt; as it's happening chainwide. Xtreme Skyflier's removal doesn't hurt any integral attractions, nor does it really affect the overall guest experience like an Invertigo removal or Congo Falls. I've been around the block enough to know people on the inside but also know how the park works. I don't see Koontz wanting to have a ride like Monster or Shake Rattle & Roll removed, this is a safe and effective move to cut costs and give the opportunity to have a sizeable expansion pad.1 point

My wife found that there are some new items over at the Kings Island Gear site including two new Made To Thrill posters. I am happy to see The Bat version 2 finally get a poster and also to see the new AE one. I believe the two NanoCoasters are new as well. https://www.kingsislandgear.com/collections/new-arrivals1 point

I had been putting off buying The Vortex set, but once you posted that you purchased the last one I checked the KIGear site and found that they still offered them and quickly got one ordered…which arrived today…I am puzzled though…this set is advertised to be limited to only 250. Here is a photo of the box from the KIGear site: (Notice the Limited Edition numbering.) Here is the box that I received: (Notice no number.) So, I am puzzled, did they sell all of the original “limited” 250 sets and now are just making more?1 point

All of the models in the 50th anniversary shop as of tonight. Definitely buying The Vortex model when I get paid next. (Stood around for a good while trying to figure out the exact price and availability but the staff member was SUPER helpful at the desk tonight!!) They still have several copies of Goodbye Coney in stock, got a few for some Christmas gifts and they’re in good condition!1 point

I think i could live with Coney being downgraded significantly….. But it’s the removal of sunlight pool. It really strikes me as final final….0 points
