  1. Here is a picture of the completed ride. They were doing ground work as we went by

  2. Maybe they are running behind on the dividers. I’m sure they are coming if they are on the other side.

  3. There’s a time and place for accolades, I’ll call the park out when they are doing a great job. The fact Larosas in I Street had AC was wonderful. The fact of the matter is that I’m a paying passholder, who worked at the park and has a vested interest in wanting the park to succeed. Those who argue that critiques aren’t needed and that everything is hunky dory should realize that every addition that comes to the park originates from some sort of critique or lack in the guest experience. I want for people I know to recognize Kings Island as a world class experience, I want people to have a myriad of reasons to come to the park. Conversations like this are why previews and openings occur, to see what works, to see what resonated and make changes moving forward. Don’t think for a second that individuals in the park don’t read these forums, they most certainly do. Opening Day was enjoyable, much more laid back, less crowds and more of a relaxed atmosphere. Really excited to come back with my newly purchased Kings Island button up shirt sometime!

  4. It would have came with them, had I not asked for them to not be on the burger.

  5. Guests say the darndest things... I'd be curious to see the results of a survey that asks some basic questions such as: "Did you know that Kings Island is part of the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation family of parks?" "What are your opinions of the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation since July 2024?" "How does the value of a Six Flags park pass with the All Park Passport add-on compare to similar passes from other park chains?"

  6. Yes....and the prices for the items are beyond what I want to pay. Cedar Point typically has a killer collection of merch....mostly different selections at all locations.....various ride specific items. At the end of Saturday night, watching the employees bring the rolling racks into the store...they didn't think much about the floor strip at the threshold....themed drink bottles and squishmellows went flying. I heard someone say on Saturday "Cedar Fair just bought Kings Island....so hopefully they turn it around." Diamondback and Racer had reduced ride capacity. Diamondback 2 trains with the 3rd sitting in storage....Racer one per side (other 2 trains were not at the ride). I do not understand Diamondback's reduced capacity with the sign posted below: Why is it that prior to the 2025 season, the park was able to get 3 Diamondback trains ready for opening weekend...but this year not? I get Racer....they ran it during Winterfest.... Flight of the Valkyrie(?) still plays awkwardly. But it's still an awkward sit on the midcourse/block.

  7. Looks to be a part of the work on the permit I found during the off season:

  8. I think that might be where the fencing that was around Monster went. It was also around the new Coke stand last season.

  9. Well I rode it last night and the billboards and signage look great however none of the effects with the helicopter or fire were working so if they have decided not to do that anymore it will be a crying shame considering that our stunt cars was the only one that had those effects working previously

  10. Look great (men’s Side) but a few things seem not quite done. No dividers between urinals (an odd choice given our current societal attitudes) and the trough style modern sinks don’t really drain well at all.

  13. @BB1 You articulated some of my thoughts much better than I could have. Thank you for being critical! A number of people tend to forget that loving something also means being critical of its decisions because you want to see it do well. The crowd levels yesterday were simply insane, and I don't think the park was entirely prepared for that many people to be there. A number of the issues are fixable while other issues just came down to lapses in planning judgement. I'm of the mentality that the Passholder Preview should be a snapshot into an average mid-size-crowd day, not one of the busiest days in the early season. It would be a shame to put a limit on who/how many could attend the event, but yesterday's crowds were just way too big for it not even being the official Opening Day. My group arrived around 11 and was shocked to see that the parking situation was being treated like a private buyout event and not like a regular public operating day. Besides getting people through the gates quickly, was there a reason to not have anyone in the toll booths? Did the parking attendants not need to gain any experience yesterday? Normally if the parking tolls are backed up then associates will visually check passes and wave people through — which should have been everyone coming in yesterday. We parked and got through the new security just fine, but the south side of the entry plaza filled quickly and people seemed to keep flowing in through all open checkpoints. There should definitely have been a shift to only using the northernmost checkpoints once the plaza filled on the south side. Security began forming more lines in front of the turnstiles around 11:20, and guests were scanned in and let into the front half of International Street around 11:30. Those extra lines should have been formed from the beginning with dividers between each line. There are a set number of scanners, so why not have that many lines? The fact that Prestige passholders didn't get to use their parking and turnstile benefits feels like a major oversight, especially since it was the Passholder Preview. Getting into the park itself went rather smoothly, and I got to check out the new shop which looked really good. I have to agree with the complaints about having the same merch throughout the front four stores. As much as I really really like the vintage varsity merch, I don't think it needs to be in all four front gate shops. I'll make another post in the Newest Merchandise topic to go in more detail. The renovated Camp Snoopy/Diamondback bathroom was super nice. It looked contemporary and appeared to have new fixtures throughout. I did notice the lack of a handicap door button, the lack of a handicap accessible sink, and the fact that there were no urinal dividers. I don't know what happened there but it seemed really odd for them to be missing after a total renovation. We ate lunch at Miami River Brewhouse and had an awesome experience. There were some oddities there as well though. The receipt said "King's Island" at the top and we found out that there were also no handicap buttons on the doors (closest to Diamondback) to exit the Brewhouse. Otherwise, our food and drinks were really good and I would've happily finished my Big Dog if I wasn't already so full from the large portion size. As for other food offerings across the park I can really enjoy the fact that most dining locations have something standard in addition to a diverse menu, but part of me wishes that said standard item wasn't chicken tenders. I've been very lucky to visit Disney World twice and appreciated the fact that almost every quick-service location offered something like an Uncrustable as a standard item. I wish the new Six Flags would do something like this so families with picky/restricted eaters (a big deal for some toddlers I've known) could all get food from the same place. I know that if I don't like anything from a certain dining location then I can go grab something else and meet my group at a table, but some groups don't have that option. It would also be a good idea to have one more totally Gluten Free dining location in the dry park and one in Soak City. Backlot's update to become Queen City Stunt Coaster is a welcome change in my book, and I hope we can see some more work done to make it look even better. If anyone can find out what all of the new Ohio license plates on the trains say I'd be really interested to see! The new drink stand in Action Zone also looks really good. This was an excellent Passholder Preview for me, but the issues are absolutely shining through the cracks. The parking lot is in desperate need of an overhaul, and the flow of guests from their cars to the front gate is consistently messy. This could be a great multi-year project that would go along with the other general improvements we saw over the off season. The new security setup looks a lot better, but something still feels like it's missing. Maybe if we get a front gate renovation (not a total rebuild like at Carowinds) we'll see much more happen. Finally, yesterday was the first time I really noticed some of the accessibility issues at the park. Making the park more accessible where possible would also be a worthy general improvement project! I love Kings Island a ton, which is why I criticize it like I do. Any solutions I offer are really just my immediate thoughts. This park puts a smile on my face with every visit and I'd like to see it continue going strong for generations to come. If y'all have more thoughts, please share!

  14. That picture could be in ANY of the shops. Im so tired of evry . SINGLE. store having the same stuff - there is no reason to "shop" the park any more. I really wish the KI COllection really FELT like a gallery with elevated product like art posters, ride models etc and that was the ONLY PLACE you could get them. Emporioum was a true "depatment store" that had a smaller edited selection of each ride or area themed product that was found in the ride or area specific stores throughout the park.

  15. I think the updated billboards are a nice touch, but the new name is terrible, and there is still a nonfunctional splashdown, run down 20 year old shipping containers, etc.

  16. This was a really creative idea. I wonder if this was a project that they wanted to do for a while or if this was something that came to mind last minute.

  17. Just had the Pep & Chee. That thing was amazing! Very big pizza sub taste. Their tomato soup base is the sauce in the sandwich.

  18. I love the changes! Some more fresh paint would do wonders for QCSC, especially around the station and the shipping containers.

  19. I was, as Gary Wachs told me a few years ago, a "true carney." That's why I believe it's the wrong decision to not be transparent with park fans when a ride is going to be retired and let them know in advance so they can get in their last rides.

  20. This new corporate era within the company are mostly industry outsiders. No company is completely homegrown, but corporate's prioritization of cheaper outside hires vs internal promotion has slowly gutted any passionate talent. To them, rides aren't ties to memories and experiences that last a lifetime; they're big colorful machines that make money the same way an industrial line robot does. And just like those robots, it's cheaper to get rid of the old expensive ones and put that money into something (or somewhere) else. I remember how great it was to be out in the park on Firehawk's final night; people had traveled a long way to get their closure. Those people also spent a lot of money on Firehawk merch, as well as food, and parking, etc.. I have a feeling those same wallets would've made the journey for Nighthawk as well.

  21. They have rethemed Back Lot to a Cincinnati theme which ties into Coney. Vortex replacement should be a Wing coaster called the Flying Pig. It would have white wings and a pig head at the front of each train. The trains/pigs could have Cincinnati related names. Maybe put a replica of the Fountain Square fountain near by with pigs as the figures.
