  2. That is a good question. Our shows page has better info than the park app right now. https://kicentral.com/current-shows/ Country Crossroads is at 1:30, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30 PM Hot Rhythm Nights is not even on the app to see show times even thought it started last weekend. Gazillion Bubble Show starts this weekend May 31st. No times listed. Trailblazers X-treme! starts June 21. No times listed.

  3. Just walked by with my kid. I swear I’ve said nothing to him about it. He looks at the thing with its already puckered AstroTurf and says “why isn’t this in Camp Snoopy over Pig Pen’s tables. It looks like a camping tent.” Ahh out of the mouths of 10 year olds who get it more than those making the calls these days.

  5. Completely disagree: the best show in the park's history was Rock Band Live. Just an absolute banger of a show playing to sold out crowds every day. So much so they had to extend it multiple days, then weeks, then months.

  6. I'm mostly doing just a sight seeing venture for Chicago and Cleveland. Of the big cities I've been to, the stuff I mostly want to touch on in Chicago are closer together than, say, NYC, DC or Boston (3 other big cities I've been to). My bigger issue with Chicago is staying off of toll roads and just getting familiar with those routes. I'm staying close to US 41, which runs between Chicago and Gurnee and is the non-toll way compared to using I-94. I'm slightly closer to SFGAm than Chicago, but its still a sub-hour drive for me to both. My 2 new parks for me this trip are Indiana Beach and SFGAm. I'm not seeing the best food options for the later. I'm also crossing my fingers on TT2 and Siren's Curse being open when I do CP. The only other iffy coaster is Maxx Force at SFGAm, I feel pretty confident their new dive coaster will be open. SFGAm might be 2 days, the day I go from Indiana Beach to Chicago I may go the half day after I get there, and then the full day. I'm only getting Flash Pass Unlimited for the full day I go.

  7. I think the Skyline Pavilion would be a lot better if they cleaned/painted it and replaced the lights/fans/tables with newer versions. It always seems a bit disjointed/dirty, so that would almost definitely help. A few TVs would also make it more like the covered Jukebox Diner patio. Maybe the park can put in a small food stand across the path from it, blocking the view of QCSC but giving it some more purpose. The Saltwater Circus lawn would be an awesome spot to put a new flat ride. I'm choosing to believe that is why the spot next to the Grand Carousel was chosen, in addition to being effectively right next to Tower Gardens. Kings Island still has a lot to do when it comes to improving their summer festivals. I do hope the park puts one of their little stages under the tent and has some small live entertainment there.

  9. I rode RiverRacers on Sunday! The water was cold but it was fun. I really enjoyed the first drop, which reminds me of the big drop on Tropical Plunge’s blue tube slide. The enclosed part looks cool. While the rest of the ride isn’t nearly as fast as the drop, I think it’s a nice successor for Pipeline Paradise and something a lot of people, including kids and families, will enjoy. As for my own preferences, yes I would ride RiverRacers again in the future, but the aforementioned Tropical Plunge drop remains my favorite drop on a Soak City tube slide.

  10. The most clever show the park has had. Plus it was a huge hit with everyone, how can you go wrong with a marshmallow fight!

  11. Here is an updated version of my Soak City future expansion. 1. Yellow expansion area. 2. Light blue is where the new adult swim up bar will go. 3. Purple a new flowrider or something else small will go here. 4. Orange is for new parking. 5. Lime is for another Soak City entrance.

  12. Its next to Blackbeard's Revenge. Just watched a few videos of Carolina Harbor's opening day 2025, and I must say Carolina Harbor Shore Club looks really nice, hopefully the park is thinking about bringing this to Kings Island Soak City.

  13. Thanks so much! That is one thing that I wish the app/main website were better at being transparent about.

  14. I saw a Facebook post about a kid riding Orion and Flight of Fear with a cicada stuck to their shirt . I don't remember this being a trend back in 2008 but social media was also not as prevalent. Should the cicada consider themselves lucky or unlucky that they got to ride Orion and Flight of Fear?

  15. I don't mind that it was put up, but I will echo everyone else's sentiment that it was poorly placed and should have been placed at the Salt Water Circus lawn. I get the need for it, but it could have planned a little better.

  17. I had the chance to experience River Racers and had an odd experience with this new for 2025 attraction. It fills a nice hole in the line up, and compliments the existing attractions with its unique uphill component. Something I found odd was during the saucer-esque turn I noticed a very strong rattle on each of my rides, so bad that I was only able to ride it two times before having to call it quits from my marathon. I’m curious if anyone else had this experience? And if it’s an issue with the fiberglass (maybe white water changed their manufacturing process?) or the tube?

  18. From my experience on water coasters, a little shake here and there is not rare. In fact, it's somewhat common. I remember riding Cheetah Chase at HW when it first opened and it was kind of shaky. Although, I've never seen one of those types of bowls before on water coasters, so that could be it. Not sure though.

  19. I understand people's concerns about its placement blocking the Carousel. I also see where this will be helpful when it comes to Food and Wine, Carivale & general seating.

  20. I think the new tent looks great and makes sense for that location. Ate there on Saturday and enjoyed the shade and turf. Looks far better than the eyesore the Skyline structure is. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

  22. I honestly don't think they give a sh!% what things look like any more to care enough about things tying together. That thing that they put up has NO relation to anything and looks like the picnic pavillion at a halfway decent suburban neighborhood park.

  23. I stumbled upon an old video of Marty's Party. I didn't even know this was a thing granted I was only like 6/7 back then and never watched shows at KI then lol. Throwing marshmallows on the stage sounds interesting to say the least. Does anyone here remember more about Marty's Party? It's hard to find stuff about it outside of the photos on this forum. Maybe could make for a good topic for a future Tower Topics episode @DonHelbig @BoddaH1994

  24. And yet, the most well compensated alligator mouth that promised the lofty (knowingly unattainable) number to the investors remains at the helm, sigh. Sparky, watching this from afar, $1500 richer this year and indescribably happier.

  25. I have lots of Made to Thrill posters and love them! They are a little different than the ones you have though...I have Mystic, Diamondback, Orion, Fury 325, TT2, Steel Vengeance, and Maverick for Made to Thrill posters.

  26. I have the Made to Thrill posters for The Beast, Banshee, and Mystic Timbers hanging up in my home office. Last year, I got the wooden coordinate signs that they had in Emporium for The Beast and Banshee, but never could find one for Mystic Timbers. Looking in Emporium and the shop on my five visits so far this year, believe it's the Trading Company up near the gate, I don't think they carry these anymore? Last Sunday though when I visited, I did stack my Pass Perks for merchandise with my Prestige discount and ended up getting the three license plates for the price of two. I'm also curious if Cedar Point carries similar merchandise, as I have Made to Thrill posters hanging up in the office for Magnum XL-200, Maverick, Steel Vengeance, and the original Top Thrill Dragster - I am hoping to get back up there in the next couple of weeks and plan to check then.

  28. Got everything booked finally. For the HW portion, I'm staying in Dale, IN as that's where I stayed last time and its more simple than staying in Owensboro. The plan is to leave on June 28th, explore Owensboro the first day and have 2 days at HW. For Chicago and Cleveland, I'm halfway between those cities and the respective parks (SFGAm and CP). I just need to familiarize with Chicago to be able to stay off the toll roads. For Cleveland I should be able to wing it. Itinerary- Leave and do Indiana Beach on July 15th, go to Chicago on the 16th-19th. Possibly do SFGAm the day I go there and do a full day there and one for Chicago exploration. The 19th is a travel day to Cleveland, mainly for the time change adjustment if needed, might visit Port Clinton, at the very least something on Lake Erie that day (not staying in Port Clinton). Then explore Cleveland on the 20th and CP the 21st and 22nd. Just waiting until the week of my trip to scout weather to get my FLU for SFGAm (only getting it for the 1 full day I go) and the R&RHOF ticket. All parts of the trips are somewhat flexible in terms of dealing with weather. silver2005, knocking furiously on wood to not repeat Raven's and Legend's lengthy closures during his last non-HWN visit.

  29. I guess it's alright, but what is it for, I thought it was going to be used for the Food & Wine Festival. The closest restaurant is Coney BBQ and that already has seating and the patio with shade is behind Scrambler, so that's close by as well. They took out some green space to add this, when they could have planted more flowers and greenery, would have added to the area's feel and look. I’ll wait till I visit in person to really decide how I feel about it, just saw some pictures and video of some of it on Facebook.
