Are they just doing a wristband for the event? I appreciated the lanyard with the schedule on it, but I always put in a zipper pocket when not is use. They flop in your face when riding then if you tuck in into your shirt it stuck to your skin.
Haven't ridden it yet but I would like to applaud the idea after thinking about it. They could have put in a ride twice as long with 2 uphill pieces but that would have cut the ride wait time 75%. On water slides you have to wait until the people ahead are out of the pool. By haveing a shorter ride with two tubes at once they can put more people through per hour. In my opinion KI doesn't need what other parks do to get people through the gates. As has been said several times the waterpark is usually very crowded and that was without a water coaster. By putting in a smaller ride and redoing a kids area and expanded shade/seating (and the upgrade of the boathouse drink stand) I think after seeing it this was a very well-thought out addition.
I could see something like this coming to KI/SC eventually. But I could also see them maybe trying something like Zumbezi Bay doing a 21+ event at night depending on how this merger sees fit in broadening their audiences.
I rode RiverRacers on Sunday! The water was cold but it was fun. I really enjoyed the first drop, which reminds me of the big drop on Tropical Plunge’s blue tube slide. The enclosed part looks cool. While the rest of the ride isn’t nearly as fast as the drop, I think it’s a nice successor for Pipeline Paradise and something a lot of people, including kids and families, will enjoy.
As for my own preferences, yes I would ride RiverRacers again in the future, but the aforementioned Tropical Plunge drop remains my favorite drop on a Soak City tube slide.
Looking at some dates in June, Gazillion Bubble Show is listed as 1:00PM, 3:00PM, and 5:00PM.
Trailblazers X-treme is listed as 2:00PM, 3:30PM, 5:00PM, and 6:30PM.
The days off for Country Crossroads is unclear since the sign at the Festhaus lists no shows on Mondays but there were shows listed yesterday (presumably since it was a holiday Monday) and then app does not show any times for Wednesday-Friday of this week.
Not that I am biased, but Bat does deserve more merch. I’m happy it got socks, a mug, a poster, and a pin for its 30th in 2023, but I would gladly buy other Bat merch such as shirts (and yes, I’ve already bought the Homage shirt that features the original Bat!).
And of course, Vortex merch will always catch my eye.
Shout out to The Beast crew last night! We got in line at 8:55. Mid and lower queues were completely full and we were about 30 people back outside the entrance. The fastlane line also stretched back to almost the photo pick up. We ended up on the next to last train and were off the ride at 10:16. They were totally on it and having a blast doing it! Oh, and the retrack is a thing of beauty!!!
