I found King Cobra to be more comfortable than any other standup coaster. In addition that loop's positioning with the Eiffel Tower was a spectacle in itself. The only steel coaster I know to match King Cobra's airtime was Phantom's Revenge.
2. Its very unlikely that you are going to dehydrate exactly when a ride hits an intense element. Blacking out is from the g-forces.
3. Man they could have used No Limits and those g's would have gone into the red, lol. What were they thinking, lol
4. You could say that The Racer was loosley based on the shooting star.
5. How could the park possibly justify the cost of moving an attraction like a coaster from one place in the park to another? Again on the whole, removal of rides kick.
6. It never ends, in the past month we've had topics about Vortex, Top Gun, Adventure Express, Son of Beast, Action Theater, Days of Thunder, Timberwolf, Congo Falls, Tomb Raider the Ride, Italian Job, Drop Zone and probably a few other rides, being removed as though they were certaintys. , What the ****?
7. No Q is the scientist in all of the James Bond movies. Q - Star Trek Q-James Bond Queue Turnstile Switchback ...and yes I did just quote wikipedia...
8. I've never heard anyone call switchbacks turnstiles before. I've never heard anyone call queues switchbacks either. If you look a the terms 'switchback' and 'turnstyle' in old railroad talk, they're both technically wrong, however I think 'turnstyle' is a more commonly accepted term for queues. I always associated this with turnstyle: this with switchback and this with queue:

10. How about this dark red primer? Aswell I think it is ridiculous that we're all of a sudden on this ride removal thing. People talking about removing Tomb Raider, removing Congo, removing Top Gun, removing Vortex, removing Action Theater, removing SOB, removing Days of Thunder; threads about your least favorite ride, what should be removed next, which ride you would take out, etc. Its kind of getting out of hand dont you think? Why does everyone all of a sudden seem to want so many things removed? None of the rides are going anywhere untill there is something to take its place. I cant imagine why anyone would just want a ride to no longer be there. If you dont like it, then dont ride it, but dont ask for it to be removed. Top gun is a good, very intense coaster. I cannot say that there is a better suspended coaster than Top Gun. All others seem to follow the trend of Iron Dragon or Big Bad Wolf of slow, continuous, and boring, with a second boring lift. And yes top gun has a red primer to mask the old red paint that used to be on the track. Agreed
11. Ok I tried to stay out of this conversation as long as I could, but I can't let false information continue. First off, anything that helps or assists someone else always gets abused by a few. Take for example handicapped parking spots. How many of you know someone who "borrowed" grandma's handicapped sticker just because they didn't want to walk an extra 100 feet to the front door at McDonald's? We all know someone who has abused something like the policy at KI. But, the fact of the matter is, think of how many people's days have been 10 times better because they were not in pain waiting in line, in the sun, or humidity and they were able to ride everything they wanted. While it can be an inconvenience to some waiting an additional 2 minutes to board the next cycle of your favorite ride. Have a little bit of consideration for those who are less fortunate. Most of you are focusing on the few bad apples that abuse the policy and not thinking about the people whom the policy is actually for. I have no problem giving up my seat for a disabled rider and their family so that they can enjoy the same rides that I enjoy. As for the quoted comment above: The elevator in the FOF line - doesn't work Last time I checked Vortex does have steps in it's queue AE/Beast queues are to narrow All of the above: What are you going to do with the motorized wheel chairs? They can not navigate the sharp turns of the queue lines. Believe me I have seen it attempted at AE, it doesn't work. Ok so you might say let the people in motorized wheelchairs through the exit. Then everyone will be getting motorized wheel chairs. The policy is fine the way it is. It is fair and convenient. Not to mention it's not exactly an easy task to carry a wheelchair let alone a motorized wheelchair over any track. The policy does not allow anyone to cut in front. You still have to wait the same amount of time, just not physically in the line. The exception is if the line is under 30 min. My brother whom we lost to cancer several years ago at 15 loved to go to KI. We went all the time. As his condition worsened we started using the disability system. I personally believe that part of the reason Kings Island allows people to get right onto smaller rides or short wait rides immediately, because its one way that people to make up time. Simple things like going to the bathroom, getting in and out of the car, or just navigating the park take a whole lot longer. Believe me, if we had the choice, we would glady have given up the ability to use the system if he had never had his condition. The system is just a small suppliment to the added difficulty to daily life. It's not much but is does help. Next time you get asked if you can wait ONE cycle to allow a person with a disibility on, just think about how much longer it takes them to do other things, like get from one ride to another.
12. You were a creepy character who just roamed around when you worked on The Beast too. Just kidding...
13. "dia de los muertos", thats November 1st and 2nd, Halloween is considered "the day of the dead eve," all-hallows-eve. Lol, I'm just giving you a hard time. I agree about it being a holiday for scaring the crap out of people. I hope to see a lot of risky things at HH this year. I just hope the crowds dont clash the scene and crash the party.
14. Oh man, I know exactly what you're talking about. I HATE when they push large groups so fast that 1, only a fraction of the group gets scared per creature since only a part of the group actually encounters them, and 2, you can already tell what's up ahead because you're so close to the group in front, causing you to see the haunts before they scare you. It never gives the haunts enough time to reset and really go for it.
15. Well that clears that up. Here come the lines. Is there any information on exactly what rides will be open? All I've been able to find is "thrill rides including:..." but nothing saying if there will only be certain ones. For example, Italian Job; that could go either way in terms of being a Fearfest attraction.
16. Even when they made the transition from extra cost in 2002 to included with admission in 2003, I felt there was not only a huge increase in lines but a decrease in quality. In 2003 when it became included, the haunted houses and haunted rides opened at 3:00PM and anything that had to wait untill dark opened at 8:00PM. I think that that turned fearfest into a family outing instead of a haunted attraction.
17. It's still closed to the public. Thats the point.
18. Congrats on your promotion man! I heard about it but I never got a chance to congratulate you! Anyway I do hope that Halloween Haunt is not $65 dollars as I'd like to go more than once. I wouldn't doubt that Universal puts on a pretty good show.
19. I think KI can justify an extra charge for Halloween Haunt as long as it meets the spectacle that they are playing it up to be. Boomerang Bay on the other hand I do not think shoud ever cost extra. One of the greatest things about Kings Island is the ability to chill in BB on a hot summer day. Often the park has advertised about two great parks in one. I doubt many people would be able to accept an extra charge for the waterpark. Post Number: 1000 Flashback for a moment to very first post: POST: Awe the days when we were so young and naive.
20. Well, they probably wouldn't use the word darned but they would tell you that you would have to wait for the press release. Personally, I hope there is an upcharge. It will drive away those who dont appreciate it as much, causing shorter lines for me and everyone else that feels it's worth the money. In addition, the extra money that the park would make would hopefully be added into the budget to put on a spectacular Halloween Haunt. Aside from hot chocolate sales, Fearfest isnt exactly the time when everyone's buying food at the park. Anyone without a pass would have had to pay anyways, now people with the pass would need to pay. More money for the show.
21. Or so you say... lol, just kidding. The news doesnt represent the park either, thats not to say that they're not the first to get press releases and such. Though they often misconstrue stories... Seeing as Boddah has the parks best interest at heart I would find him far more reliable than the news as they seem to go with whats juiciest and quickest without double checking the facts. Thats something you dont have to worry about with Boddah.
22. What do you mean? I'm pretty sure it'd be all or none.
