    Hello everyone! I've been following this discussion for a while now and felt that I should join.

    First off, I don't know who will build this coaster, rmc and gci both seem plausible to me. I really don't care as long as it's exciting.

    With this picture though, I think Greg Scheid is clearly making a reference to the field of dreams teaser that Kings Island posted. With one of the quotes being, "if we build it, they will come." Thoughts?

     You mean field of dreams as far as the massive Cowboy stadium? That this could be a huge coaster after all? On second thought, kids dreaming on a football field.  (field of dreams)  haha    Field of dreams does not sound like a transition coaster. Welcome to the forum.

     

    Are we seeing bears on those beds....Someone said Kodiak. I like that name. Also we certain this won't be a cowboy coaster? Not even from Intamin. Maybe something like Pony Express at knott's by Zamperla?

    Does anyone think they may use the crypt building for this? Maybe?? I know they are keeping wood over there. More then likely just trying to keep it behind the fence. Maybe the queue will go through it and the coaster will run through it. That would be cool to see a wooden coaster go into a building and come out. Just a thought.....doubtful but just thinking.

     

     

    Well, only if you assume that the plans that the park submitted to the city are fake. 

     

    Yeah....true. Thursday can not get here soon enough. I hope they keep the webcam on the construction all winter long. Watching Valravn being built was awesome!

    So I was looking at the drawings again. If we go by the key view, (which my be fake) the lift hill after the bend is 345ft in length from start to top of the left hill. If you use the lift angle of most older coasters of around 26.5 deg, you get a height of 172, but here is the kicker. If you go with the angle which a lot of new coasters have been using of 30 deg, then you get a 199ft height. That is using the scale of the area of work section that measures 60ft in length. So quite interesting. Terp did say we would be surprised. Do you really think they would push the 200ft woodie height again? I can't imagine they would. I just can't wait until Thursday.

     Thanks for the detective work. A tall lift hill is one of my main "wants". I can only hope. Also, does Terp have access to inside info that none of us have?  Just asking as I am new to this board. Forgive my ignorance...

     

    Tall hill is my main want as well! That would be awesome!

     I for one hope that silver2005 doesn't drop out of this conversation. He is a very knowledgeable poster. I only called him out because I thought he was a bit overbearing. Maybe a lot of us were. We're all here for the same thing......because we are excited for the new project. Carry on :)

    Cooler heads have prevailed! I am excited to talk about this project!

    Agreed.  Not sure if I the pictures in this thread or others, but the vines are already growing up the sides nicely.

     

    Perhaps it is for protection of a future attraction too?  I'm just happy it is returning, along with several other nostalgic elements in the park.

     

    What all else is returning ?? I love the old Kings Island! Flying Dutchmen? Phantom is making a return? I wish!

    Let's see...I'm not Terp, that's for sure.   -_-  But I've been here for 8 years.  You've only been here for 2 months.  I may not be anybody, nor do I have several thousand posts (usually because I don't know what to say, and my opinions tend to be passionate, so I try to keep my mouth shut, although I sometimes have trouble biting my tongue) - BUT, I wasn't trying to tell you what you could or could not talk about.  I wasn't trying to offend you or anyone.  I was just making a friendly suggestion to keep it on topic.  It's an unspoken courtesy thing in message forums, and I think others share that opinion.  Sometimes we have time limitations and can't weed through all the posts which have nothing to do with the subject of the thread.  There are other threads in the forum where some of these posts can be made.  That's all I meant.  No harm, no foul. ;)

     

     

     

     We are reading your posts. The posts are not coming so quickly that nobody can keep up. IMO pictures of coasters going over water apply to this thread.  I do appreciate your pictures big time. Thanks!

    To add to that....We have been talking about this new coaster all day. Sure at times we get a little sidetracked but who is it hurting. There really isn't a lot of information to "decode". I just don't see the need to come in here and tell us to not talk about anything else but this project. After you have not posted at all today. I am not talking about MagLiz. You have posted great pictures and keep them coming for us who can't make it to Ki that often!

     

     

    I DID post earlier in the day...about 4 hours prior.  (Maybe you overlooked that post.)  But I don't spend every waking hour checking for updates.  If contributing a post every day is what keeps a member in good standing, then you might want to have a talk with Terp.

    Whatever this wooden roller coaster is, I think this will have a curving drop similar to Legend at Holiday World. I think the station will be behind that scenic train stop. I hope everyone knows what I'm talking about with that. And knowing Cedar Fair, they'll introduce something new that we haven't seen on a wooden roller-coaster. This is strictly just my opinion here.

    I like that speculation!

    Yeah it would be faster than that if we are talking a 198ft drop. The rest looks great!

    74 mph is more realistic.
