  1. That reminds me of the one for Banshee! Source for photo: https://youtu.be/D08_3WsHUG4
  2. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that Lebanon has a prison and a couple jails there. I know the guy who runs the Juvie there. It seems like Jails and prisons are common hotspots of the virus along with nursing homes which Warren County has several.
  3. Chad Showalter just tweeted that a "never seen before" POV will be released on Twitter at 8:30 tonight! Could it be the Orion POV that we've been waiting for! We'll find out at 8:30!
  4. After the SARS outbreak in the early 2000s, Canada's Wonderland (Paramount) added 2 coasters back to back to get park attendance back up.
  5. Not really about The Vortex area, but here is an interesting statement from a recent article about something Chad said. Doesn't mean that we are definitely getting our next big attraction in 3-4 years, but I find this statement interesting. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.daytondailynews.com/news/local/kings-island-opening-will-finally-debut-the-planet-seventh-giga-coaster-orion/bdZjVYXYvMvGLmdRISozaK/amp.html
  6. Just got an email from Don. There will not be an ACE media day event like planned. If I were to take a guess, due to restrictions, I think they may pick a time to invite some news media people only out to check out the ride. I can't wait for the first rider auction though!
  7. Yeah! This will probably go down as the most interesting coaster debut ever! More interesting than Son of Beast since it didn't open on time and debuted during a global pandemic! I guarantee you that several years from now when we are discussing the construction of our next coaster, we'll probably look back at this and be like "remember when we had to wear masks when Orion debuted?" or "hopefully this doesn't get delayed like Orion did."
  8. Just the first rider auction. I was told a week ago that they plan to reach out to those who registered for media day with details on that.
  9. You had to raise a minimum of $150 by April 3rd. It started back in like January or February.
  10. I posted back in the Orion thread that I just got one. Thank you though.
  11. Just got an email from Don with details about the event on July 1st! Anyone who is participating, check your email!
  12. Has anyone here gotten an update from Don yet about the first rider event? I haven't yet. Just curious if anyone has heard anything yet.
  13. **DOUBLE POST** The Orion banners are up! https://www.facebook.com/rollercoasterexpedition/photos/pcb.3369691116395445/3369689883062235/?type=3&theater
  14. Don Helbig follows me on Instagram. He likes my posts every once in a while. It's an honor lol.
  15. Hopefully they don't rename something to something stupid lol.
  16. Well if that's the case, we can't be wearing masks and social distancing forever. I have a feeling eventually we'll have an effective treatment kinda like HIV if that happens.
  17. Masks won't be permanent. I can guarantee you on that. Masks and social distancing requirements won't last forever. Once we get a vaccine and/or an effective treatment, those stuff will be relaxed. They didn't stay once the 1918 Spanish Flu ended. People were just as against masks back then as they are now.
  18. In the email I got earlier this week said that additional information on the first rider auction will be released later this week. It is now later this week and I haven't gotten anything yet. Has anyone here gotten anything on it yet?
  19. Has BGT stated they are waiting til next year? I've always thought that since they are open all year that they can still open it at any time this year.
  20. Because it would mean the demise of both. I understand that we don't want more coasters removed, but from a business standpoint, it'll make sense to remove rides that aren't popular and/or are costly to keep running. Also, with the amount of money CF will likely be losing this year, I expect multiple rides chainwide to bite the dust here eventually.
  21. I'm thankful that the FOF trains now aren't what they used to be. I heard it used to have hard over the shoulder restraints. I think those would've hurt on those transitions.
  22. I don't see it happening. Just because the ride is done and doesn't need to wait until next year to open. Plus the park already confirmed it will open with the park and the first rider auction is scheduled for July 1st. Now I don't see them doing anything for 2021 so that they can still heavily market Orion since there will likely be lots of people who will miss out on it this year.
  23. I'm also wondering if they are going to stop the ride if someone takes their mask off on the lift hill like they do for phones. Mainly because if they require them to enter the line and on the platform, I'm sure there will be some people who will choose to take them off after they leave the station.
