Did the 2008 recession have anything to do with Cedar Point going 6 years between Maverick and GateKeeper?
Cedar Fair was focusing their efforts on integrating the Paramount parks and were installing major coasters at those parks during that time.

Do you think are we going to see more rides removed at Cedar Fair parks to make up for the decreased revenue and attendance the parks will likely experience?

DISNEYLAND HAS CLOSED

No gatherings over 100 in Ohio now... don’t have much faith in these parks staying open in a few weeks. All schooling closed now also? The state of Ohio is acting very quickly to this crisis, I’m betting my money now these parks won’t open.

There goes Cedar Fair off the worry list.
No, the situation is rapidly changing. We’re still 2 weeks out from opening, look how much has changed in the past 2 weeks.

Cedar Fairs stock is down nearly 50% since the beginning of February.

We’re now seeing the United States suspend flights between Europe and the United States for 30 days. This will most likely only have a major impact on the destination parks.

Well they've got to think of every possible option. I say if they were to have masks, don't make people wear them. Tbh I think CF should send out a survey to season passholders for this.
It’s logistically impossible to provide every guest with a mask. The health care industry needs them much more then a theme park guest.

^ interesting questions, glad to see they’re conducting a survey. I thought them asking about giving all guests free masks was a strange question.

We should just stop stressing over this. What happens with the park happens. It's not like it's going to get torn down. Also, people who have the virus would probably be smart enough to not enter the park.
The problem is people don’t know they’re infected due to the long incubation period. Furthermore there’s already been several cases of people breaking their quarantine and visiting places.

Could Kings Island just not open this season? I pray to God that does not happen!
Wonder if they would offer refunds for passes if they end up being closed for over a majority of the season?

Sadly it doesn’t look like we will be getting a big Banshee or steel vengeance sign for Orion.
That’s fine, Diamondback & Mystic Timbers have good looking signs. IIRC the logo is going to be put onto the former Firehawk photo booth building according to the announcement video.

Cedar Fairs stock alone is down nearly 20% in just one day. The American tourism industry is going to be hit hard from the coronavirus without a doubt.

I don’t really even like RMC hybrids nor do I want to see one come to the park. RMCs restraints are uncomfortable and their rides don’t seem to be high capacity. Not to mention their most recent conversions seem to have had a lot of issues. Kings Islands investments into high capacity and reliable rides is the way to go in my opinion.

I really hope Orion gets one of this animations/ commercials like Fury 325:
The company that made the commercial, Carbon VFX, did not work with Cedar Fair to make a Yukon striker or Copperhead strike commercial. Wouldn’t hold my breath on them making one for Orion.

Carowinds with out a doubt, that park has changed so much. 3 great steel coasters, a new waterpark, new front gate & several area renovations.

I don’t see why the two areas should be merged, Oktoberfest is fine in my opinion, it just could use another small flat.

Thats what I'm curious about. Carowinds debuted their gliders when Copperhead Strike opened so it wouldn't be too far fetched.
Mountain Gliders was still in the park before CHS, it was just moved and rethemed. I don’t think they’re adding a new ride back there for this season. We have just over a month before opening, not enough time to be build it, test it and open it.

Well unfortunately with the direction that Cedar Fair looks to be going in, we'll likely see a lot more rides/coasters removed over the next few years. Especially the ones that are high in maintenance cost and/or have low ridership.
Until other parks start removing more of their older coasters I don’t foresee either of them going anywhere. There’s dozens upon dozens of other older, less popular coasters in the chain.

I presume most of those international workers do not have good quality heath insurance plans as well. Could they be stuck with a $3,000 medical bill if they need a test like this Miami man.?
Yesterday it was announced that testing would be free and paid for with Medicare I believe.
-
I don’t see both The Bat & Invertigo leaving within 10 years, rollercoasters aren’t really a normal occurrence & the park has already removed 2 Coaster recently.
