36 times, I think before this season the most I went in one year was 6.

I still think I can see the outline of the Batwing element, however it’s very hard to make out that area.

Yes? It’s quite apparent considering it uses the energy to complete the turn.

Looking at the webcams, does anyone know where on the tower the cameras are located? Because looking at the camera, you are looking straight at the lift hill basically. Is it below or above the observation decks? I know the height of Orion is supposedly higher than the top deck of the ET, but I don't know how it would look from the top deck itself.
Above I believe, if you look at the Diamondback cam you can see the guard railing for the roof.

I was looking to add the fast passes to my Platinum pass and I don’t see Orion listed in the Fast Pass or Fast Pass Plus. Will they add it latter or is it not going to be eligible for Fast Pass.
They most likely just haven’t updated their site, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t added to Fastlane or Fastlane plus.

And less than 1% of people that go to the park care about that extra 13 feet. You won't notice it on the ride. Would you rather have 300 with a 287 drop, or 287 with a 300 drop?
300 ft tall, more potential energy. I didn’t say people would notice it or care it about however I stated it wouldn’t be a huge jump to have made the ride slightly taller.

I wouldn’t consider building it 13 ft taller would be a huge jump ^ especially since there’s 3 other attractions in the park that are 300 ft or taller.

The cost of steel is not the reason why.
What was the reason then? (Assuming it’s not cost related)

Diamondback will be demoted to regular Fast Lane.
It’s been at regular fastlane for a while now. Mystic, FoF & The Beast are the coasters this season that required the plus

Cardinal Landscape and tree service..............
Why the …’s? Infamous reputation? Are they the ones responsible for taking out so many trees?

I’d Like them to add a mass effect 4-D styled ride which I’ve heard nothing but good things about at CGA.

Also the Dayton Daily News back on October 8th mentioned the same thing. They also mentioned that the 85° drop was going to be only 7 feet long which was mentioned in the other Orion thread. They interview Jeff Gramke.
That’s pretty normal to have reach your max steepness for only a few feet.

Crazy to think tomorrow is the last time I’ll be able to see Vortex In person, still feels unreal.

So I guess that means O’Rourke will indeed be doing Vortex’s demo? Unless they’re going to remove another coaster which at this point doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility.

Y'all...the station is not historic. It was built in what, 1983? It has an appeal to us as enthusiasts, and to a lesser degree, the locals. But my house that was built in the 70s could be deemed historic if we go by how many years it's been there.
I mean age isn’t really what makes something historic. What makes something historic is if it has any importance to history, and while the station doesn’t isn’t nearly the most historic thing in the park I wouldn’t say it has no historic value.

Plus Vortex's noise is now gone.
It’s impossible to not love the sound of an Arrow chain lift.

Hate to change the subject, but does our park have the most B&M's? We will have one invert, one hyper, and one giga.
Nope, that honor goes to SFGAv with 5. Kings Island actually has an average ish number of B&Ms for chain regional parks.

The fact that track is coming down this early must mean they have something planned. Why else would they create an empty area of the park? Not like they are getting anything for the track $ wise...
It wouldn’t look that great to have a giant abandoned attraction toward the middle of your park tbh. Yes the ride visually looks fine but it’d likely confuse guests.

You do realize that’s not how it actually works right?
For Yukon Striker they adjusted the supports by a degree or so that the track would fit.

Why did they take the support down?
It’s possible it wasn’t lining up, if that was the case they’ll probably just try again with a different temperature or adjust the base by a few degrees.

Who would have thought buying a house next to an amusement park could result in hearing amusement park noises

Vortex Removal Updates
in Kings Island
Posted
Why would RMC work on old arrows when there’s already companies that already do so? As much as I’d love for Vortex to survive it’s not happening unfortunately, if they were going to do a major renovation they would have announced so. Vortex’s structure was designed for bigger track, not some narrow spaghetti track. The structure would be completely useless. The ride is going away, the parks said it multiple times, it’s time to face reality.
