I think the fact they no longer infuse the water with any fruit and returned to the tiny water cups shows just how dedicated they are to provide prestige passholders a premium experience.

Had the pub burger tonight, was very good. Brew house still blows out every other in-house restaurant at the park. Have not had a bad meal there once this season.

Terrible capacity and thus far terrible reliability, real winner the park has on their hands.
Dont get me wrong I’m happy they built a flat ride but I wish they had picked a better flat ride for the park.

There is fastlane. I used it twice today.
Thanks for the clarification, guess their website needs updated.

So excited for all 60 people who get to ride it an hour
you know the capacity is horrible if there’s no fastlane.

Terrible idea imo, going to make regular line longer while devaluing the fastlane product.

Here is my review of Cargo Loco and Adventure Express as well as my thoughts on Adventure Port as a whole. During this review, I am keeping in mind that not everything is necessarily 100% finished so far.
For starters, I thought Cargo Loco was really fun. The ride is very quiet, and the barrels can be checked quickly by the ride operators since there is not really a restraint. The presentation and theming of the ride are also on point. The queue line is on the short side but well themed. I do not think any of the speakers in the queue line were tuned on yet, but I hope that the speakers play themed music once they are activated. Overall, Cargo Loco is a great addition.
With Adventure Express, I absolutely love the new entry plaza and theming in it. I also really enjoyed the posters and props in the queue and station. The theming is on point. Again, the speakers were not turned on in the queue or entrance plaza, so I cannot comment on the music selection. When it comes to the actual ride experience, I like the additional props and signage throughout the ride as well as the station master spiels. I also liked the audio in the final tunnel was more audible. I know Kings Island is probably still working on it, but the effects in the final tunnel were not great. Many of the statues were at least not lit up at all, but I assume this will be addressed soon. I also was sad that the audio is the station is still very quiet. There is a whole new station master spiel in the station or at least the old one has returned, but I could barely hear it. Overall, I really did like the new Adventure Express, and I hope Kings Island addresses the broken effects soon.
Moving on to the area as a whole, I LOVE the theming around Adventure Port and the overall aesthetic of the area. It is just really presented well. I especially love the physical props placed throughout the area and the details painted on the buildings. The Coca-Cola Marketplace, especially, looks really nice (the park just needs to replace one of the lightbulbs). I am not crazy about the the brown roof of the Mercado and Enrique’s or the unthemed exterior of the restrooms building, but these shortcomings do not detract much from the area in my opinion. I do feel like the theming is a little bare in the open space beyond the planter and seating in front of Enrique’s, but I hope the hanging flags over the midway do happen in that area. Once again, the speakers around the area have not been turned on yet (outside of the Mercado’s patio), so I cannot really comment on the music selection in the area. Also, is it just me, or should there be sign hanging from that one pole in front of Enrique’s. These are just nitpicks about an area that may not be complete. Like I stated above, I really do love the new area so far. The pictures below are from the Coaster DAD.
I cannot wait to see Adventure Port once it is all finished and ride Sol Spin!
I think you summed up my feelings perfectly. The area feels like 85%, once they hopefully polish out the area with music & AE missing elements then it’ll really feel special. It’s a great step in the right direction and is by far the best themed area of the park.

But maybe a friendly “hey, can you guys please come out of the planter that you had to crawl over a curb and cross 8 feet of mulch to get into, please? Thanks!” From security, but unfortunately there seems to be a “don’t rock the boat” mentality when it comes to that stuff. I guess there are only so many hills you can die on.
I will say the other day I saw security tell a few kids to get off the brick ledge / wall on the path connecting Rivertown & Coneymall so maybe security actually does care about people sticking to path.

Let's be happy CF is actually investing money in KI. Carowinds and CP are also getting major new areas and new rides that cost millions. CF could've just scrapped Adventure Port and poured all their interest and money into Carowinds and CP. Let's be grateful we get anything.
Cedar Fair is not investing in Kings Island because they’re trying to be nice or something. Kings Island getting an investment is solely based on what’s best for Cedar Fair as a business. They should be grateful they are in industry with fans who are willing to justify everything the company does.

Brew house has been very good this season. I’ve had the BBLT, KI Salad & Clucks in a barrel all in the past week and they’ve all been very good. They also give you 2 dipping sauce without charging extra unlike some other chum bucket restaurant on istreet.

I got the Moroccan chicken with tzatziki sauce, pierogies and naan bread. The lady in front of me was told that the chicken now has the sauce on it and if you want more , need to pay more. $1.29 for a side cup. It was still great. Chicken was juicy and legs were a good size. Pierogies were a potato and maybe cheese blend. Naan bread was warm and soft. This is a wonderful addition to KI dining plan and hopefully everyone can experience it.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkCharging $1.29 for sauce to an already overpriced meal is ridiculous, I mean bruh look how little sauce is on that already.

Noticed two things yesterday.
1: It looks like an old arrow mine train is being used as theming, it looked like a crash train near the track.2: it looks like it might have gotten a new or refurbished chain lift. Ik that it got The Vortex chain but yesterday I noticed maintenance Unpacking a new chain.

Cross-threading, but maybe that is why preferred lot stayed open until close Sunday as that station can see that area.
I want to clarify that there was no one present in the preferred lot station Sunday, they just had a sign saying preferred pass people can enter.

It seems like the Mercado and Enrique’s still have a lot of work that needs to be done. There is not really signage for either aside from the temporary cover over the old Hank’s Mexican Grill sign (the Coca-Cola Marketplace is also missing a sign on the top of the building). Also, it seems as if the roof may get painted red. From the Eiffel Tower (KIC picture attached for reference), it appears that the park is at least in the process of pressure washing the roof with some sections having much more grime than others. I hope the pressure washing is prep for painting as the roof looks really out of place as of now.
Also, I am kind of worried the banners hanging throughout the area (as pictured in the concept art below) are not going to happen since the old lights were out back up in front of Enrique’s. Also, no new posts appear to have been constructed.
Finally, I wonder if the shade structures (as pictured in the concept art below) will be built or not on the Mercado patio as there is currently very little shade on the patio. I know umbrellas will probably be added soon, but the structures would be a really nice touch. One interesting thing is that it seems like the size of the area had been reduced. I don’t think the airbrush building is being included in the area anymore as the concept art shows.

Went to the park an hour before close, the preferred parking lot was still open so it seems like they may have learned from yesterday.

I couldn’t help but chuckle at your “data model” statement. I’ve heard other users on here make statements that CF/KI have mountains of data, but I’m convinced they have no clue how to interpret said data.
Most of the data the park has is probably just from the ticket booths & whenever a transaction occurs tbh. I’m not quite sure how they collect the number of riders an hour. For purposes of the preferred lot I don’t think they keep track of how many people leave the lot or enter the lot (although I could be wrong here and they just assume all prestige pass ticket holders + Daily purchases enter the lot). Could totally be wrong on all this but that’s just my assumptions.

A fold out sign/ barrier that said “do not enter”
If they’re going to close off the preferred parking lot because they don’t want to pay for monitoring its capacity then it’s only fair they offer a $15 voucher imo. Ridiculous, greedy move by the park. Also the parking lot filling up in the first place is also entirely preventable, a data model could easily make a semi accurate prediction on how likely the lot would will fill up on a given day.

I wish Mystic Timbers’ lighting package from Winterfest would come back. I thought it was really cool and was bummed not to see it this season.
Do you have a picture of the light package? I don’t recall how it looked.

I’m in that camp. Literally can’t believe this is all we get for 3x the renewal cost. Really feeling like they pulled the ole switcheroo.
I thought the “do not enter” barrier they put up at the entrance to the preferred / prestige parking lot (only partially full) was a nice touch too.
I feel the same way, the lack of bottle drinks is extremely disappointing. Them closing the preferred parking lot would upset me significantly since atm that’s really the only big perk of this pass imo.

One thing I do want to mention is that it’s a nice touch to be greeted by name when entering the vip area!

Unfortunately for my health Sweet shop has an even better variety of sweets this year! The buckeye mousse was very good and the cheesecake creamsicle was decent.

I think Kings Island needs to seriously consider a chaperone police like WoF. If they felt the need to close Action Zone on day one due to an incident I can’t imagine how many other times it’s going to happen this season.
