  1. I don’t think I’ve heard a lot of people consider Kings Island small, if we’re going to see a new area of the park it’s going to just be X-Base fully becoming a new area. I could see Kings Island build a hotel but I kind of doubt it, maybe a campground one  day hopefully but I also doubt that.

Does anyone know where they got the music for the parade?

I’m sure someone remembers his name but I recall at the start of this year a music artist (Who I thought did work with Disney?) tweeted out that he was working on a project with Kings Island and that project has turned out to be the parade music.

Well I would love another launch coaster, I don't see us having a third one (see multilaunch coaster thread) anytime soon. A lot of coasters we've gotten recently have been there as replacement coasters for other rides like Banshee and the 2020 coaster and I hope we get off that trend because I wouldn't want to lose any coaster.

I wholeheartedly believe however that if we were to get a new coaster it would be towards the Action Zone area just to maintain the attraction triangle in the park. If you notice in terms of coaster additions at flip-flops pretty significantly.

Coney Mall/Xbase gets Firehawk in 2007

Rivertown gets diamond back in 2009

Action Zone gets Banshee in 2014

Rivertown gets Mystic Timbers in 2017

Cody Mall/Xbase gets coaster in 2020

With that being said I think that our next big coaster will come to Action Zone and if we're going by current logic it would most likely replace Invertigo and Congo Falls

Oktoberfest would like to have a word with you.... But yeah Action Zone could definitely use another ride, where ever the next coaster go’s it better not be in Rivertown, currently 3/4 best rides in the park are all in the same section.

Also does anybody know if the new shed has been completed off in the woods? It still makes a lot of sense to move that red and white building and open that area up as a plaza area. It would give great views of the drop and you could fit a restroom and food spot over there as well.

Last week the shed looked pretty done to me but they could still be doing work on the inside.

Went to the Brewhouse again thought I give it another try. The line was super long and only had one cashier working with 6 people standing around. Took about 20 mins to get the food. Needed a refill on my cup but the line was out the door.

That’s the thing I’ve always noticed, the line is almost always out the door and typically there’s only 1 or 2 cash registers. They could definitely use more staffing.

The 20-year theory is actually convincing now that we are getting a giga in 2020, so I hope that does not mean we don’t get a multi launch coaster until 2027... I can’t wait that long!

All the 20 year theory suggest is that Kings Island is playing catch up because of Paramounts poor investments. Most parks got their inverts in the 90’s or early 2000’s we didn’t. Canada’s wonderland is just now getting a high capacity comfortable modern steel looping coaster..

My only question is: would Cedar Fair build a multi launch coaster at Kings Island with Maverick so close, one of the stand-out rides at Cedar Point? The same can be said for an RMC. I feel that we are going to end up getting a Mack Extreme Spinning Coaster simply because they are different

Maverick and Copperhead strike are very different attractions, not to mention Cedar Point already has several “flagship” attractions so Kings Island getting one that’s similar to Maverick isn’t that unreasonable.

Had anyone on here done the $30.00 food deal?  Is it worth it? Is the food quality better than the general park food?

I didn’t really care for the food to be honest, but I’m also a pretty picky eater. If there’s 6 things in the menu that you like then I’d say it’s worth it considering how much food you get.

  9. Another possible option would of course be to get an entirely new model from B&M, it’s been almost 10 years (at least when we likely get our next coaster) since B&M would have released a new coaster model so I’d expect they’d have something new by then.

  10. Hope this bump is ok, according to Kings Islands Twitter in regards to an online  merchandise store “We're looking to add an online store in the foreseeable future.”

  11. I mean rides like Corkscrew are still going strong so I hope Vortex still has life left in it, if any arrow is going to be going I’d put my money on The Bat. In regards to more future B&Ms id love to see a launched wing coaster in 24’. Maybe we could see a Mack Multilaunch but I’ve heard those are incredibly expensive (even higher then B&M), unless we see prices for Mack’s going down I just don’t see it happening.

  12. I went to the park today and I thought the parade was fantastic and I hope to see return. The parade route was lined with people so it definitely appears that this is a very popular event for attendees, everyone seemed to be having a great time.

The food left a lot to be desired but I’m glad they’re offering more food options for this festive, everything was being served pretty quickly which was nice. The only thing I truly disliked was the Berry Citrus twist drink, had a weird after taste to it.

Nothing says “frontier Ohio settlement” like Tomb Raider...or “African village” like Top Gun...or “turn of the century amusement park” like The Italian Job.

    Better theming? Please.

They were very good at making thematic messes.

Does anyone know what Top gun was originally supposed to be themed to?

  14. My mine gripe with the paramount era is the fact the quality of the park was lower then what it previously had been. Before Paramount Kings Island arguably was the best regional theme park in the world, can’t really say that now a day’s. If Paramount didn’t buy the parks chances are we would have seen a lot more B&M’s installed in the 90’s. KECO had already installed 2. Furthermore yes the park did get a lot of capital investments but those investments often times were not the right investments. SoB was by no means a cheap ride and did indeed cost a lot of money to install but even with all the money the ride was still a terrible addition.

  15. They will certainly market this as a giga coaster, it’s a term that people have become quite familiar with in the state of Ohio and advertising it as a giga coaster will draw more of a crowd.

I am so upset that I'm going to miss this. It looks like it is going to be such a fun an unique thing to happen at KI. I can't wait to see everyones pictures and videos! Also, the thing in that last photo looks familiar, I feel like I saw that at Haunt last year somewhere near I-Street.

Maybe it was used in the Bayou themed haunt.
