  1. ^ To add to that several Banshee contractors were also listed, not saying they couldn’t work on an RMC project but I feel the fact they’re listed adds more substance to it being B&M, also does Baynum even work with RMC? I’ve gotten the impression RMC paints the rides them selves

Cornstalkers has been gone for a while..but Field of Screams is what you're talking about.

Ahh thank you for the correction. Guess it’s kind of obvious I don’t go to haunt often.

  3. I’d say there’s a good chance we might lose two haunts this year, Field of Screams is obviously going away or it’ll need be relocated and we might also see Chaos go away if they plan on getting a head start on relocating those buildings. Kind of a shame Field of screams is going away, I absolutely loved walking next to racer on the way back.

Wonderland got 4 coasters (1 family + 3 200-300ft B&M coasters), massive water park expansions, a new themed area and getting a resort, plus CW is also in line for a major expansion ala Carowinds. I was at the media day for YS and this was confirmed from upper management. And yes I am aware of that, but I don't see a giga as a wise business move for KI yet. Maybe I'm wrong, hope I am but I'm going strictly business wise. The ROI for Diamondback and Banshee was very weak and for MT, a family thrill ride, a huge success. Obviously, 2020 is Kings Island's year, but there's zero evidence this is a giga coaster, it can be anything. I'm also saying all this since I am a shareholder of CF and The main parks for most large investments are KBF, Caro, CGA, CP and even CW will get heavy investments as well. This doesn't exclude the other parks, but these four parks are the main ones.

I just don’t understand how a Wing coaster (Or any B&M) after 3 years makes total sense but the second it’s a giga coaster after three years it’s finical ruin for Cedar Fair. No matter what B&M they’re building it’s going to be expensive, what Cedar Fair is going to look at is what coaster model will they get the most ROI, and it seems wing coasters, which are expensive didn’t seem to perform all that great at Cedar Point. Now look at valravn, it constantly has long line and wasn’t all that expensive compared to GateKeeper, thus we’re now seeing more Dive coasters being built. Now Fury 325 was a MASSIVE success for Carowinds and In my opinion Cedar Fair saw the success of Fury which had a high ROI and will install one at one of the most important parks in the chain.

  5. ^ While yes Carowinds and CGA are receiving larger investments then they were previously do not get the impression Kings Island is being put on the back burner. Cedar Point for example is not growing a large amount but they still receive large investments due to how much revenue the park brings in, Somewhat Same situation for Kings Island (Even though Kings Island is still breaking their attendance records), Kings Island still brings in a huge amount of revenue and because of that the park will continue to receive large investments

You just show up and get in line!

Is the line typically long? Do they usually run out of room? I’m also hoping to attend an announcement for the first time.

No way it's a wing coaster at this point IMO.  The wing coaster in question would have to be seriously scaled up because they lose tons of momentum with all the drag they create. Also, most wing coasters are meant to be visual centerpieces.  This clearing just juts out into the Ohio woods. All gigas that have been built are along the outer edges of their respective parks.

And what happens when a wing coaster gets scaled up? It cost a lot.... the argument against a giga just starts to fall apart at that, why build a massive wing coaster when you can build a giga coaster which only cost a bit more and deliver higher results.

It'd be sweet if they could make the ride interact with the Flight of Fear building in some way.

I dont know about that tbh, the Building doesn’t look that great in my opinion and I’d rather it not be anywhere near the thing. But I do agree that if it had to be next to the building it’d certainly be cool to have some interaction with it.

  9. I don’t know if that clearing is going to get much longer going that direction, it appears to get wider toward the end indicating to me at least it’s a turn around or a turn. I can see it taking a left (Away from the The Beast) and head toward the river.

Please no.....please let the SOB "return" rumors die!!!!!

Wish there was a heart emoji for messages like this. I’d much rather have a new theme then just a 3rd ride themed to a Beast. Not to mention that the marketing department  would never EVER want a ride themed to probably one of the biggest failures in regional theme park history.

  11. Went on Blue racers, they’re still clearing trees as we speak. Definitely going to be a fun project. I’m sure this has already been mentioned but there are markers in X - Base

I also hope they keep it far enough from Beast that it doesn't mess with the seclusion that ride has- seeing Diamondback after you do the 1st turn outside the long tunnel mid-ride is already kinda jarring.

I didn’t notice The Beast clearing until someone mentioned it here and then once I re-rode The Beast & I was able to notice it. Assuming there’s not a massive hill in that area it really isn’t going to be noticeable from The Beast.

I talked about this a little (a lot) in my first post on this site, though FH ended up demolished.

Tony Ravagnani does some pretty awesome work. I've done several Cedar Fair projects with him.

Yeah good work, but since the construction of Antique autos & I Street Reno a lot of those names on that list are able to be crossed out. In hindsight the international street renovation seemed somewhat likely (Or some part of the park receiving a renovation) based off of some of the names on the list (Trident for example did the fountains, there’s companies listed that do work with pavers ect)

Does anyone know how good the food at the restaurant is (because I haven't)? That is, if anyone has had the chance to eat there........

I eat there during winter fest, didn’t like the food that much. I’m going to try again during the Grand Carnival event this year and hope it taste better.
