  1.  I’ve gone through the Notice of commencement and listed companies  that seem likely to be involved with the coaster. B&M (Obviously), Fenton Rigging (Construction), Baynum (On site painting work),ASHLEE FENCE ENTERPRISES(Fence work, they did Invertigo), Exhibit 3 fabrications (Ride plaza sign), Beacon Electric (Did work with Banshee), Reflect Systems (Giftshop display, Queue TVs?) One company not on the notice is TRA design, since they design things they likely won’t need to be listed. They have designed several stations for Cedar Fair.

We are very lucky Flight of Fear is still at Kings Island.

Why are we lucky? Not trying to be rude just curious. Was it supposed to go to carowinds? (thought I heard that a long time ago not really sure though)

  3. seeing what Cedar Fair did to frontier Canada & the copperhead strike area  gives me the impression that theming (No I’m not implying Disney level theming) has become of somewhat importance and because of that if the new coaster goes into X-Base I’d not be surprised if that area gets a re-theming and a major overhaul. I very much like the direction that CedarFair has been heading these past few years.

What does everyone think about the future of Field of Screams? I saw in one of the images of the Dinosaurs Alive! that the path is still intact. Do you think it will be here for this year's haunt? I'm sure they could move the entrance if they needed, too.

I’m thinking they’d be able to have the entrance be the same path that the exit is.  Last year was the first year I did that haunt and I absolutely LOVED that walk back, I found it so cool to be out back there.

Dorney has been rumored to get a coaster soon for quite a while with Stinger's removal.

An RMC T. rex would be a decent fit for that park imo, low cost but high thrills. Kings Island is definitely the only park at the moment that has multiple different signs to back up a new coaster.

  6. So do you guys think any other Cedar Fair Park will get a new coaster this year? It wouldn’t be that unlikely considering they installed a 30+ million dollar coaster at Carowinds and a 20+ million dollar coaster at Wonderland. At the moment I think the two parks that might get something is CGA (Doubtful still) and maybe Kings Dominion? There’s potential teasers already at the park.

100% agree here and truth be told, the park isn't going to hold KIC's opinions in as high as a regard as what they perceive the GP overall.  KIC and enthusiasts make up a very small portion of their attendance.

Yea true but if you’re employees are actively trash talking their customers, especially their loyal fan base there’d most likely be repercussions for that. If you don’t like the customers I don’t think the amusement park industry is for you to be honest.

If this clearing is for the long speculated giga coaste, r (and I think it is), what area do you think this would be a part of?

Would it be a Coney Mall themed ride with a cool Coney name like the Shooting Star or the Wildcat?

Could it be an X-base theme like Firehawk or Flight of Fear?

Or could it be my pipe dream scenario an Oktoberfest themed coaster with a German name!

*Bring back the Coney Mall sign!

I’m with you on wishing it’d be a German themed ride (I know it won’t be), Oktoberfest really needs a lot of love. Personally I think it’s going to go to X base (Which I hope gets a retheme...). Maybe it’ll go under racer and have the station in the old Dinosaurs Alive section which would make it apart of coney mall. The only issue I see with that is that it doesn’t allow much room for expansion.

If you notice at 2:06 when he zooms in tou can see a piece of track sitting behind Flight of Fear's building. Any ideas why?

I’m thinking it’s going to be used as a plaza decoration, could maybe be used for a haunt decoration but it’s probably to big for that.

There is a B&M Hyper is scheduled to open up in China later this year, so maybe that is one of the three mega coasters

No that rollercoaster was MCQ, also most of the rollercoaster has already been built.

  11. That’s really interesting, I guess we’ll have to keep an eye out this spring and summer and see how much MCT track starts to show up.... if MCT ends up with a backbone then I’d say we’re getting our giga.

Thanks for the replies. Figure it was just me. I was just looking at our last pic from winterfest compared to our pic from Saturday....ol boy put on a few pounds over the winter. Lol. Time to lose the winter weight.

Good luck on losing your weight. Hope you get to ride mystic soon. :D

  13. International street has definitely changed for the better, I hope for more similar renovations in the coming years. The pedestals while they were nice I feel the new fountains will definitely capture my attention more often due to how dynamic they can be now.

  14. So I have a question. If the land clearing was to grow would they have left the equipment on property? Has anyone been able to see if there’s still equipment on property to clear the land?

How giga twister like Raging Bull is a hyper twister on a limited plot of land ?

KI definitely doesn’t need anymore out and backs.   They have 3ish already. N

The last giga twister (Intimidator) did not turn out all that great. Out backs are fine layouts and are still able to offer intense enjoyable experiences. Furthermore you really can do a lot with an out and back layout.

In the spring, the required temperatures are higher since they're just starting to be run more consistently after a 5.5-month offseason.

In the fall, our Arrow coasters' minimum operating temperature (to at least start up) is 45 degrees; in the spring, it is 50.

Today's high temperature was only 47 degrees, which justifies why Vortex, Adventure Express, and The Bat were closed all day today. If today was October 20 rather than April 20, they would have been able to open since it was at/above 45 for most of this afternoon.

Would you be able to give us an Arrow coasters minimum sinking amount? Vortex must be on the verge of crossing that thresh hold.

That queue line is way too small unless they plan on expanding it... any Cedar Fairs new b&m rides have massive queue lines...

I’d assume they’d expand it if they planned on re-using it.

The land clearing is excited. I’m interested to see if/when the land clearing expands. The only odd thing in my eyes are that there are no teaser posters on the wall.

From what others have said in this thread and previous threads is that teasers show up typically a few weeks after opening.

So does this mean Field of Screams won't be coming back this Halloween?

Maybe they could make the queue the same path you walk on to exit? But I’d assume field of screams days are numbered.
