I heard in Reddit that there was a crack in the track down the first drop, so it would make sense if they are welding it.

If that's true that's pretty bad for a 6 year old B&M..... I know silver bullet has also had some structural issues on the Cobra roll.

    Quite a bump, but....

Now that it's been a solid 9 years, any change in feelings in management, especially now after Area 72. Would you say Area 72 is better than anything Paramount could have done, or was Top Gun, Action Zone, TR:TR still much better than anything Cedar Fair could attempt? And is the new atmosphere better than before?

Here’s the thing about Paramount, they were able to theme the rides but they weren’t able to fit them into the parks atmosphere. Take Backlot for example, it’s a better themed coaster then anything CedarFair has built (at least on ride) however it completely ruined the looks of the surrounding area. Having a parking garage & shipping container themed coaster in the center of the park is a major eyesore. Another example of this is TRTR with its massive building in the middle of Rivertown. Cedar Fair on the other hand has been improving the atmosphere of entire areas of the park such as A72 & I-Street. I’ll take Cedar Fairs execution of themed attractions over Paramounts. I hope Cedar Fair & Park management continue to invest in renovating & theming areas of the park.

For real enthusiast and collectors this price is a drop in the bucket. Don’t like the price, then move along.

I mean we're in the middle of an economic recession, I don't think you need to spend $200 to prove that you loved Vortex. You can be a real coaster enthusiast without having to spend $200 on a 1.5 inch sliver of roller coaster track.

If the SOB sale was any indication, there will likely be pieces for sale on Monday morning.

Guess it really depends how many sets are for sale. I hope they have plenty so that everyone who wants one is able to get one.

I want Haunt to return when it’s safe.  But I kinda think they should stick primarily to houses and roaming scare actors.  Not sure I want the traditional scare zones to return.  I just prefer when they do not ruin the look and feel of the park during the day.  If they want scare zones figure out a better way to hide items during the day.  For instance at Universal they close the park for about an hour and use forklifts, cars, and on smaller items they just wheel the items out from hiding places.  If needed they will leave them out but typically they do a great job fitting in with the season.  I think Kings Island could do something

To be honest I feel the exact opposite. The haunt decorations & scare zones play a huge role in the atmosphere imo. Restricting the decor to just the haunted houses would kill the halloween vibe for someone who just rode the rides and not visit the haunted houses. The scare zones for the most part look fine and play an important role in transforming the entire park into Haunt.

  6. If the event returns next year I really hope they have tents set up similar to grand carnival. The food lines yesterday looked to typically be 30 minutes+ which in my opinion makes it hard to justify waiting for a small portion sized item. The food does look  fantastic though.

Many who have been around for a while will confirm, the park doesn’t spend money unless they need to. The station does not need to be removed unless something is planned for that space. I will put down a $100 bill that if it coming down then something is planned for the space.

I don't think need is the right word to use. They don't have any plans for The Vortex plot of land yet they took it down. Removing the SoB station could simply be a matter of improving park appearance. Is removing the station a sign something maybe planned to be built there in the near future? Sure. But saying needs implies there a 100% certainty something is being built there soon.

I think they'd have to get permission from KI to drive down the stretch of road by the dorms since its their property which it where I feel the partnership would come in.

If the campground were to run a shuttle service then they'd likely just use the drop off area, I believe that's what the Kings Island inn did.

They are gong to get gate sales and per caps spending I think this could be a good partnership for both parties.

Is the park running a shuttle service really going to make more people visit the park to justify buying and operating a shuttle service? A shuttle service seems like something that would benefit the camp ground more then the park . People drive to a campground so it’s very likely most of the guests staying at that campground would be able & willing to drive to the park without there being a shuttle service. I just don’t think there would be much revenue lost by not operating a shuttle service. If the campground wanted to operate a shuttle service no partnership would be necessary.

What is with cincinnati people.  They think their chili, ice cream, and pizza is worlds best.  They also think their stand up was awesome.  Strange that kd and wonderland had the same ride and they all thought it sucked.

Does it really matter if someone enjoyed the ride? Perhaps people just have fond memories of King Cobra and because of that they like the ride? Also the blog says they removed the ride for a better thrill ride, how does that imply at all that King Cobra was “the best”.  I for one enjoyed the blog.
