  1. Click on his name on a post...and up pops, in his case: f5rollercoaster Now, say thank you!
  2. The park is well off the beaten path, not near Buffalo itself or Niagra Falls. The parking charge is steep. The rides are not often all open. And the times I have been there, the customer service has left a LOT to be desired. I am not even a little surprised the park is for sale. As Cedar Fair has pointed out in their conference calls, the North and especially the rust belt is a very difficult place to do business right now. Eastman Kodak is the primary employer in that area, and they have laid off not hundreds but thousands, and with very little prospect of any of them ever being called back.
  3. And *I* don't believe that Cedar Fair's input into park decisions began only after the sale was final. I think it began once the contract for sale was complete, and on minor things, like seat colors, Cedar Fair was consulted and their opinions ruled the day. After all, PP employees and managers knew that soon enough it would be the Cedar Fair people who would be calling the shots, so why not start satisfying them early?
  4. I almost wonder if it is a Cedar Fair influence. They love to use wild colors on things in their parks.
  5. That's truly pathetic. I hope the yeggs are apprehended and prosecuted....even if they are 11 years old.
  6. Not to mention there are those of us who come from the south...at least sometimes...
  7. And to be fair, most of the problems with Thunder Mountain Railway at Disneyland have had nothing to do with guests' medical problems....
  8. First the good news. Kings Island was a partner with the Cincinnati Zoo, a world leader in animal care. There was NO abuse. Period. Now, the bad news. I've been to Wild Adventures. I believe in truth telling. If the park is relatively empty, you can have a good time there. The steel coasters are okay, and the flume is hysterical. You can and will get very wet on that thing. Cheetah, the wood coaster, is a CCI that has not been, how to put this?, meticulously maintained. Every time I have ridden it (except for the first year), it has been very rough and vibrate-y. The employees in the park are lackadaisical at best. The simulator ride at that park is, without exception, the worst I have ever ridden. The film is almost always out of focus, the two projectors are out of sync with each other, and the entire experience usually gives me a headache. That said, if you go intending to have fun, you no doubt will. I'd strongly recommend a trip to Lake Winnie near Chattanooga, Tennessee instead, if at all possible. Or to Six Flags Over Georgia. Much better time. . .
  9. Suffice it to say that if Cedar Fair thinks that knowing next year's ride would adversely affect season pass sales, then they won't announce the ride until late...after many passes have been sold. If, on the other hand, they think the ride will help sales AND if they want to sell season passes, they will announce the ride early. After all, if you owned the park, isn't that what you would do?
  10. Been poking around in Valley Fair's trash cans again? By the way, calling me a teenager made my day. Thanks! I will remember that the next time I am shopping at the neighborhood barrio.
  11. News Flash: If you are 5 foot, 8 inches tall and 194 pounds you are NOT skinny. And if you are "skining," what does that have to do with this thread? By the way, adult amusement rides are designed for 170 pound, 5 foot, 10 inch tall males. Have been for years.
  12. a. The Outdoor Amusement Business Association would no doubt like a word with you. The number one cause of injury at fairs is falls, usually caused by tripping. The number one cause of injury at amusement parks and permanent attractions is falls, usually caused by tripping. What is the basis for your statement that fairs aren't safe? Well?? b. Nothing really is wrong with SOB? Silly State of Ohio. Silly insurance companies. Silly Cedar Fair. Silly CBS. Silly injured people. Silly lawyers. Why on earth are they doing an INVESTIGATION when they could have simply gone to YOU, who no doubt will guarantee the safety of all riders with your massive assets. Why, if something happens to someone afterwards, they could own your....uh, dog? NO ONE KNOWS, including you, what really is wrong with SOB. And something sure was. Or there would nothing to investigate. Posts that say nothing is really wrong with SOB do not help the park you seem to love so much. In closing, I have one question. Could you look the woman whose chest bone was broken...look her right in the eye and tell her, perhaps while she is crying remembering the incident and the day she went to Kings Island to have fun, that nothing is really wrong with Son of Beast? If you can, you really ought to stop and think. What is life about? An inanimate wooden roller coaster is more important than people? Your little less than five minute ride experience is more important than someone's life? (And it could have come to that, if something is really, really wrong with Son of Beast). What if it were YOUR Mom, YOUR Dad, or YOU?
  13. It conflicted with offseason rehab. Winterfest or LeeAnn Rimes? Somebody told me she needed an offseason rehab!
  14. Either that or Cedar Fair was distressed that preshow sales were only slightly better than those of Winterfest, which also must have had a scheduling conflict.
  15. Lord, I hope not. Six Flags had/has those. They need to remember that not everyone has broadband, and not all of us are kids who must be entertained at the expense of any actual information being conveyed on the website. Like, for instance, that Volcano is actually OPEN!
  16. Hence the state's request that they repair the one section and allow testing of the entire ride...along with the parts removed as a part of that process...The investigation is not complete.
  17. No one outside a few insiders really knows, but unless the aftermath of the Son of Beast incident is settled out of court, we will all get an opportunity to find out. . .
  18. http://www.leannrimesworld.com/index.php?c...brd=topic_99201 "Looks like it was a Paramount issue..."
  19. You assume the coaster was actually built to his design, an assumption that may or may not be true. . . and that even if it was, you apparently also assume that it was not modified at some time in order to save costs or achieve some other end.
  20. Wait just a darn minute. Nonrefundable fees when THEY cancelled the concert? Tell me that is reasonable. This is RIDICULOUS!
  21. They did that. They spelled it King's Island, too. For about a day. Then they fixed it. On their corporate home page!
