  1. I got intimidated once by a drunk dude who was walking around Beast plaza with his shirt off, picking fights with strangers. Despite his loud, vulgar mouth, I ignored him and moved on to BLSC. I'm sure he got escorted out before the day was over.
  2. Amazing and oh-so cool! I wish I had been able to see these guys live (I was far, far away in 1995).
  3. ^ LOL! Brain injuries from a 2-foot fall into some flowers!
  4. ^ ...and just like that, it was gone. Bring on the queue!
  5. I've never ridden a 4th Dimension. Is that the "X" that I saw on a cable show about 8 years ago, that flips you over with some kind of actuator that follows a separate rail?
  6. ~Would that be the Erie Ocean? LOL! Also "I hope they don't leave it like that"! Maybe they just got done watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth" or "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", with their fridge-nukin' mine train jumps!
  7. A season or two ago I saw some kids sitting on one of the black chain 'fences' near the Eiffel Tower (more of a visual barrier to keep people off the landscaping). A security officer came up and told them to get off the chains because of safety concerns. They stood up, then waited for the officer to walk away, then scoffed and sat right back down. Selfish and disrespectful.
  8. ^^My 40th is coming up. I'll call #39 my last birthday and just start celebrating every Opening Day from here on out.
  9. I meant world-class in appearance. Clever placement of some landscaping elements, a neatly-designed sign and some theming elements can add to the excitement of any attraction.
  10. ^Maybe they put their faith in centrifugal force? Whatever changes are made to The Beast entrance, I'm sure it will be world-class in appearance.
  11. Welcome. This site is well-run and full of sincere Kings Island aficionados!
  12. It's also cool to hear 10,000 people 'singing' along to "Devil Went Down to Georgia" simultaneously. I wonder how many people will remember the 'Achy Breaky' dance?
  13. Great ideas all around. If I were to try to come up with alternatives, I'd think of those artists who paint huge portraits of famous people in under three minutes, or chainsaw wood carvers who can carve a wildlife scene out of a few stumps. Sure, they usually play music during these, but they would be a neat complement to the already outstanding entertainment offered at the park.
  14. I wonder if the rider had some kind of pre-existing physical condition that was tragically made evident only by the coaster ride? There are people who have very precarious medical problems without feeling any symptoms or warning signs, only to be triggered by some force that would otherwise not cause injury.
  15. Quoting Flightoffear1996 "I want KIC to install a high speed transit system from downtown to the mason area. Have it take 10 minutes to get there going about 120 MPH." You could make one yourself. All you need is a clear I-71 (at around 3:00 am) and a Mustang GT500KR. The chat idea is good. I wonder if there could be such a thing as a virtual KI "sim" environment, where KIC members can interact within a 3D replica of the park, as part of the site? It could be the KI of the 70's, 80's, etc...
  16. It's good to see another event at KI with lots of famous people! I was glad to hear Sean mention frequently how Kings Island is one of the most beautiful parks in the country. Wait 'til they get a load of Diamondback!!
  17. Fellow Landen Falls resident?? Orchard of Landen! Howdy, neighbor!
  18. Soon we'll be seeing all the other giant hills break the treeline, giving our beloved KI a dramatic new skyline!
  19. I think I can see my house in that pic! What about 'Frosty'? -Tb, um...
  20. Ugh! I hope they'll replant! You guys are geniuses with the crane names!
  21. I'm okay with it, as long as it doesn't drown out the old train whistle.
