I think what we need in Boomerang Bay is a good water coaster. We've got enough slides as it is, and while Tasmanian Typhoon is fun, a water coaster would be a great addition. The Beach has had one for years...

I don't understand the reason for the passes either. I realize they don't want large groups going into the SRL and then expecting to sit together, but it's the responsibility of the guests to pay attention to the signs. If you can't figure out that "single rider line" means your group will be split up, then you should have to live with not being able to ride with other members of your group. My sister and I went through the SRL together twice on the 2nd, and nobody said anything. We both ended up on the same train both times, but we weren't even expecting that.

Keep June 30th open as well - that's my birthday

I'm not sure how easy it is for them to modify the ride programs. However, all we'd really need to do is convince maintenance to come out, flip it into manual and "accidentally" leave the trim and MCBR brakes open...

I kept track on my phone as well. The built-in "notes" application is quite useful for such things

Despite my being so quiet this past weekend (I apologize to those who were a bit weirded out by that - I promise to be more sociable in the future...), I also had a great time meeting all the KIC'ers and taking part in the fun activities. This past weekend was by far the most fun I've had at KI in a long time and I hope KI does it again in the future

Don't make me start with Jurassic Park jokes (for those who are wondering, Weird Al Yankovic did a parody of MacArthur Park called Jurassic Park about the popular movie).

New Orleans preparing to sue Six Flags....
Oldiesmann replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My point exactly. New Orleans wants the park reopened, but they don't seem to be willing to help, and SF obviously can't afford to do it themselves. I doubt the federal government has any stimulus money set aside for amusement park restoration projects either. -
New Orleans preparing to sue Six Flags....

What is New Orleans expecting to gain from this? They seem eager to have the park reopened, but they aren't offering any assistance or incentives to Six Flags for the project. -
If it rains early in the morning but stops by the time the park is open, then the crowds will largely depend on the forecast for the rest of the day (cloudy or otherwise). If it's going to be cloudy but warm, there will likely be a fairly large crowd. However, if it's supposed to rain again later or it's going to be cool, the crowds won't be as large.

I'll have to go through the photos on my phone and my camera later to see what I want to send in. I just wish I hadn't left my memory card at home on Saturday.

I still think they should just get rid of Launch Pad (EuroBungy) and stick a small classic ride up there instead. I'm not sure how much room they have, but they could even flatten it out if they need more room. That queue line is too long for a pay-to-play attraction.

On Saturday right after we got off the train, I was standing there taking some DB shots with my cell phone (I'd accidentally left the memory card for my digital camera at home and didn't feel like leaving the park to hit Kroger or Wal-Mart for a new one). A random guest walks by, sounding like he knows everything there is to know and explains that if we want to get some good pics of "the Firehawk", we should go further down in Rivertown to where the final hill is, and that it shoots up a huge rooster tail of water (as if we didn't already know that...).

Was it "The Old Man (Is Down The Road)"? Don't think so. It was one that I wasn't really familiar with.

I heard another John Fogerty song the other day (besides "Centerfield"). I think it was "Long Dark Night", but I don't remember.
-
"Put Me In Coach" is actually called "Centerfield". Great song though
-
Wasn't paying attention and thought the first one was an empty train. The 2nd one seems slower and much more dramatic though.
-
I know they also replaced the fins on one train on Saturday. As we were standing in line for The Beast walkback, a couple of maintenance guys came by carrying a toolkit and two fins from a DB train.
-
Very nice Is it just me or does the splashdown with people on it seem a lot slower and dramatic than the one with the empty train?
-
No I didn't
-
That train ride was great - particularly the strange looks we kept getting from the passengers on the car in front of us

I'm the third "(blank)" in the back row of the group photo

That photo is absolutely hilarious. I love the look of sheer terror on that girl's face.
