A warning for anyone else who’s trying to go in spoiler free for the actual ride experience (which I’ve decided is me at this point, but maybe people who frequent the construction updates may not share the same view). There’s a media construction tour of the new ride happening today, and there’s not a spoiler embargo (I’ve already seen some photos inside the ride), so be cautious on social media if you’re wanting to avoid that.
But also maybe today we’ll get logistical updates like an opening date, so that would be cool to see.
What pages/channels are involved?

I’m gonna spend some money.

Gut feeling, I’m worried about KD.

Yeah, I truly do not give a ****. Sorry, mate. Try someone else.
So hardcore, bro. You’re the coolest guy on the theme park message board.

Not really loving the name. Happy to see the park get some attention, though.

Ahhh, the virgins have shown up. Sorry no one ever invited you to party.
My brother in Christ, I’ve out drank you in the park 10-1, I guarantee it. The difference between you and actual adults is the fact that I’m not a sloppy kid who can’t hold their liquor.

Brandy? Are you the daughter of a wealthy plantation owner in the 1800’s?
Cheers!

Well - they pretty much knocked out most of the MidWest region, so I hope they look at a realignment for their new GOLD REGIONAL PASS since we are down to what now? Great AMerica, Cedar Point and KI?
I know I sound like a broken record, and plenty will chime in to disagree, but this is why I always wait until closer to the beginning of the season to decide on what pass to buy. I’d rather know what I’m getting into as opposed to things changing and potentially overspending on perks, etc.

Massacre Manor was in the original Dodgem building (later repurposed for the laser maze and Attitudes gift shop) and was demolished to make way for Coney Bar-B-Que. CarnEvil was the maze in the Enchanted Theater next to Phantom Theater/Scooby-Doo/Boo Blasters and its space is now used for the Peanuts Playhouse theater. They've been hosting more Tricks & Treats and Winterfest shows in there lately, but for the main season it's often an indoor Meet & Greet location alongside any shows they host in it.
Some old people (like me) remember Massacre Manor as a Sleepy Hollow maze under a tent next to the Showplace. Good times.

Really cool to see it in the top three with Disney and Dollywood.

An indoor/outdoor coaster/water/dark ride could work well with the same ride system as the new NightFlight Expedition at Dollywood. There’s even some room behind the building and beside the train which could create some great kinetic energy and fun water features. It could be midly themed to the previous Keelboat attraction with a new story created specifically for Rivertown. That is, if the building needs to stay. Wouldn’t hate seeing it get the axe.

Anyway, most people here remember the ride surveys Paramount sent out towards the end of their reign for a multitude of concepts, few of which actually made it to fruition. Including:
- Mrs. Puff's Crash Course Boating School - Highly-themed Wild Mouse-styled coaster that was believed to be a part of the Nick Universe expansion for Kings Island. Rumored to have been dropped during the Viacom split by CBS.
Thread bump!
And finally, after all this time, it looks like this concept will finally be brought to life at the new Universal Kids Resort in Texas:
QuoteFree boating lessons, for one day only! Is today the day you finally qualify for your Bikini Bottom boating license? Kids and their grown-ups will put their skills to the test and try to impress Mrs. Puff as they swerve and spin — and even go backward — through her specially designed course.
Always wanted to see this concept make its way to KI back in the Nick Universe days.
Man, I’m getting old.

I had a nightmare once about a looping wooden hyper coaster. Terrifying.

125% thrilled. Been waiting for this since I showed up to the park in ‘02 as a ten year old to find my favorite ride closed. Everything so far seems fantastic and I’m happy that it’s not just a reboot/recreation of the original ride. Love the art direction and overall style. Pretty unbelievable this is even happening.

I think Cedar Fair could have. They are/were able to hold their own with Knott’s on the west coast. In a pre- Blackfish world, there was interest in buying/merging with the Sea World parks too. I think it could’ve worked at that time.
Not sure if Six Flags in 2026 could hack it, to be honest.

I hope not. At least not in any major, obvious way.

Curious as to what this new show element will involve? Maybe some type of Pepper’s Ghost element similar to the Hitchhiking Ghosts at the end of Disney’s Haunted Mansion?
Thinking the reused BBoBH pieces will be the swingling chandeliers and turntable.
Looks like we got a glimpse of what was leaked yesterday as well.

Interesting! Thank you for sharing. Think this gives us a clue for the queue line smell effect that was listed in the plans. Looks incredible.
