It would not sadden me at all to see Smiler meet the wrecking ball.
Still so sad what happened to those kids.

"It never rains in Southern Cali-fornia..."
Ha!
Love the song. It rained just about the entire duration of my last Merry Farm visit.

With GhostRider off to the side...Knotts other announcement I really like. An addition I can actually enjoy rather than just another ride I probably wouldn't ride anyway. I was soooooo happy to see Screamin Swing leave!

Why would you post this? Sick.
I agree.

A lot of parents consider the parks themselves to be a babysitting service. I've seen girls dropped off at the park that had to been younger than 12 at KI (one of those girls I wouldn't be shocked was 10 or younger). My grandpa would never let me venture around CP by myself when I was that young without my cousins with me.

^yes that's what I meant. Makaio was his last calf (he was conceived 08/09-ish and born in 2010) This IPad drives me nuts And plus I tend to type fast and don't always pick up the errors right off even if I read it over multiple tines. The attempt to relieve Tillikum of siring duty goes back to well before Blackfish ever hit that film festival and even before the incident with Dawn. You can't over do it with one animal cause it can eventually lead to health problems when inbreeding goes rampant. Tillikum has done his duty. With AI we now have Keet, Ulises, Kshamenk as options. And not much longer there will be Valentin in France.
Edited. More grammar errors and improper spelling..

Editing for Reply:
Would SEAS still use him as their main sire if Blackfish would have never happened.
Well considering all the calves conceived and born before Blackfish were sired by other males....yes. They been trying to get away from breeding Tillikum excessively for a long time which is you also had Keet calves (another completely unrelated male) and only just now having success with Ulises.

All are captive born except Morgan.
So...6 whales. (5 within chain, 1 outside). How that constitutes for "many" is beyond me when you consider the amount alive right now in the chain.

Just an FYI SeaWorld only has 5 wild caught orcas in their care (Kasatka, Corky and Ulises in San Diego remaining 8 are captive born. Katina and Tillikum in Orlando remaining 5 are captive born. All the San Antonio whales are captive born)As far as I can tell, none of the current residents they have in their care were captured from the wild for our amusement. Most are descendants of a different time, when our understanding of the effects of captivity, were largely misunderstood, or ignored. The few others they keep captive are animals that are not suited to be rehabilitated for release into the wild.
Just a bit of FYI. Sea World does still have many Wild Caught Orcas in their care, they no longer practice wild catch because they have been able to establish a very successful and lucrative Orca breeding program.
Tilikum - the Orca who received the majority of the focus in Blackfish is a Wild Caught Orca who Sea World still cares for, breeds and uses for performances.
Tillikum is actually no longer used for breeding which is smart. All the calves born under SeaWorld since after 2010 were sired by other males (Ulises and Kshamenk)
Even though the whales at Loro Paque are owned by SeaWorld I purposely left them out since it's not a SW park.

It sounds like Screamin' Swing is out the door too.
Good.
I'd be ok with a new Haunted Shack as opposed to another ride there.

Well that's the thing...I always wait until they do the renew now and pay later thing they do (assuming it's not bein done ATM) and that price raised quite a bit. Hence why I am considering not renewing the Platinum cause let's face it...I am not interested in the other parks. Ki and Knotts been the only CF parks I bothered with.Platinum is currently $180 for renewed passes or $189 for new passes. For renewals, this is the same price as in the fall of 2014 and the fall of 2013.
These prices are certain to increase, perhaps substantially, after the fall sale ends. Dining plan prices will go up as well before the season begins.

^With the way they kept raising I got to where I may just gonna let the Platinum die and buy a Gold Pass from Knotts. And keep paying for my SeaWorld pass.
If next summer is anything like this year was I probably won't have a lot of free time for KI anyway. (Only made 3 visits this year)

So...I'm having issues with the site but I have to ask what's Platinum's renewal price gonna cost this time around? (Almost scared to even find out..)

Hopefully, Cedar Fair won't have to start putting barbed wire or something around all their rides because people break the rules like this.
Or electric fence.
This sucks. Hope the passengers on the train are ok (physically/mentally) and the man's family are in my thoughts.

I'm thinking going either Saturday or Sunday just to see the show . If I go Saturday it be after work, what are the show times usually for Saturday? Sunday is possible... though I just hate going all the way back to the area on my off days.

Shame. Another celebrity just using their 'celeb status' for this cause that is clearly not educated in the matter. Smh.

^ That sounds as if they may be trying to recreate one of Knott's former attractions, Delirium:
...also known as one of the weirdest attractions they have ever done (but in a good, and very horrific way). It wouldn't be the first time the Island has attempted to "recreate" a Farm haunt (Red Beard's Revenge), but I'm (slightly) hopeful that Blackout will be something truly amazing like Fatale's or Kill Mart.
Or they could simply be resurrecting Mysteria and just turning all the lights off.
Delirium was one of my favorite mazes I ever been through at Knott's. If anyone gets a copy of it I hope its memory doesn't get tarnished -__-
