I actually stumbled across that place last month while driving around on my way to KI. Looks like an interesting place, though I couldn't tell you how to get there again. It's one more thing that makes me want to follow that bike trail its entire length (from near Terrace Park all the way to Yellow Spring).

Peters Cartridge, right? I'm always fascinated with it. Even always look at it quickly from the top of Flight Deck's lift hill. Such a shame its in such poor condition though :/ I noticed the bridge to nowhere is officially no more. (was there in 2009 but was gone by last spring). Its covered in stress cracks

Yeah, not a good idea to go wandering around the facility.

At this point I'll be spending more time at Knott's Haunt than I will be KI's....woohoo working evening shifts. I still plan on visiting KI when I am able to though.

Cedar Point:
Mantis
Millennium Force
Wicked Twister
Power Tower (I was so nervous)
Kings Island:
WindSeeker
Diamondback
Firehawk
Delirium
During the 90s I was at CP for really just about every major addition on their first day opening (Snake River Falls, Raptor, Mean Streak) but didn't ride due to my height, lol. >_>

I remember playing on monkey bars as a kid in my school play ground.
This is a little different. Just across the river from the old plant is a bar I think it's called the whistle stop now. They had a cage that hung out the front of the building and a monkey would sit there and people would give it cigarettes to smoke.
haha, I figured it was completely different XD
...........and I think I posted too much today, normally I'm not chatty at all. See ya'll tomorrow. lol

After having my 5 year old Canon Powershot stolen at the Banshee unveiling, I actually found myself wishing I did have a fanny pack in some ways, it was just small enough to fit in one.

And a terrible one at that
Still just another TV show, but I personally prefer Ghost Adventures! At least they are entertaining.

It's funny how the little girl in the blue dress story got so misconstrued over time! The ORIGINAL story was about a girl in a blue dress seen around the white water canyon ponds. They say that the ponds were there before Kings Island, and that she may have died in the pond on the original property. It is also said that she would chase the trams not the trains! The old parking lot trams that would take you out into the parking lot. After they removed those the story got mutated into her chasing the KI&MV Railroad. There used to be a really great haunted Kings Island topic on KIC a long time ago.
Just remember, my friend, Ghost Hunters is just a TV show.

It was also used for the live actors to use as a "dressing room" when the train had them. I went inside that house back in the late 90's and it was pretty creepy. I wish I would have taken some pics inside though...
The ride announcer said it was haunted by a girl.
I never heard that one when I worked there...
I blame the show Ghost Hunters after their visit to the park.
Yeah....I never heard of that until I saw that episode. The only real ghost story was tower johnny. Thats the one we used to talk about. We used to always blame his ghost when one of the rides in Rivertown would break down. It was rumored that the elevator cables that killed tower johnny are back in a maintenance graveyard behind Beast. There are cables back there but not sure if they really are from the incident.
I've actually heard of Missouri for years well before the show aired (actually have my own experiences... o_o none of which have to do with the train tho as they happened around WWC). Just stating since the show it seems the employees now include her into the ride as more people been curious of her, I guess. The fact everyone seems to know of her now is new when tower Johnny for the longest time was the most talked about. (at least from what I seen during my years there)

You mean the old witches fort by the waterpark?

A Platinum Pass, yes.
A Cedar Point season pass, no.
A Knott's Gold Pass now offers admission to both dry park and water park.

Knott's Berry Farm - August 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th

IMG_6522 by ki_faerie_wench, on FlickrProbably one of the most emotional visits I ever had yet to Knott's. On August 11th as I had just got into the park I received a text message from one of my SoCal friends informing me the passing of a long time veteran to the Knott's Haunt due to a massive heart attack just a couple hours prior, only 37 years old. This gentleman was one of the people I looked up to for advice my rookie year at FearFest at KI, despite the fact the parks were different companies then, they still offer help when I asked. Certainly one of my inspirations and among the reasons I decided to even go for working as a scareactor (since I sort of grew up with Knott's Haunt in a way anyway). Outside Haunt, he was an actor (he even appeared on Jay Leno bout a month ago during a brief skit), sumo wrestler and a good father. I was invited to a couple memorials that took place with several other Haunters, and yeah it was pretty emotional. After getting the text I could barely stand being inside Knott's cause of the memories so my visit that day was cut pretty short, but I know he wouldn't want me to NOT have fun. Though, as weird it may sound, I feel like perhaps I was meant to be there, had I been in Ohio I doubt I would been able to go to any memorial and I prefer closure of some type. :/
Apart from what had happened, it was still a good visit. Got my ride on Coast Rider, I might be minority but I prefer WildCat, though still a fun little ride. The Boardwalk does look amazing and Boomerang looks gorgeous! More eye popping than before to look at. Ghost Rider is now my favorite night ride at Knott's, very wild ride with intense airtime in the front, not too mention the rides it delivered (no matter where I sat) was actually quite fun. Second favorite night ride being Silver Bullet (in the very back), everything is such a blur to me, lol. Log Ride renovation was certainly for the better, the animatronics are soooooo cool! Seeing WindSeeker was pretty sad....I've no real problem with the WindSeekers so seeing the Knott's one just sitting quiet knowing the others been open was a huge bummer.
Anyway...on a tight schedule so I'm just gonna go straight to the pictures:

My favorite ride isn't even there anymore. As far as coasters go....a tie between Magnum and Raptor.

Personally, I think Dinosaurs Alive at night would be a great haunt attraction. Just low level lighting and higher speaker volume. I also thought it would be cool to have a haunt attraction near the Dig Pit area where guests could be transported on a tour to "safety" from the entrance through the trail to the main attraction in the dig area. (golf cart transports). The exit could be right where the old trail of terror was back into x-base. I'd call it Dinosaurs
AliveAttack!!!It be cooler if it had cave men too. Some certain guys come to mind that would be all for working that...
The guy who plays Undertaker goes farther back than Club Blood debut year actually
(he was working with me in Sleepy Hollow Horror in 2004).-

My Georgia Aquarium drawstring backpack is always with me
When I was small I had a fanny pack from CP, (still got it actually in my closet) but that was back when I would mimic my grandparents cause both of them had one. I think I stopped using it when I turned 11. -
Outside KI I always love Magnum's lift. It always make me think someone is having a fit throwing all their dishes to their kitchen floor and the lift makes the crashing noises as they break. And another sound I like is Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's. Dunno about smells around KI, I have a hard time getting past smelling sweat and cigarette smoke everywhere.

Watched the show again last night. If you really watch what you're not supposed to be watching, you can really see how most tricks work btw. Also as for music soundhound didn't pick anything up so I'll have to try again
My ability to remember lyrics and then google them later helped me to learn that the opening number is "New Born" by Muse.
Some other songs are:
Edge of the mirror by Emme Rose
and
Scream n shout by Britney Spears/Will.i.am for those interested. I miss Barbra streisand, Nightmare to Remember and Bangarang, lol. To those who don't like the show now, you are probably better off staying away from the Haunt show. Personally loved seeing his Knott's shows over the last few years when I go out there, look forward to what he does at KI for this year.

I know you guys want to see Flight Deck removed, but me and my family have a lot of memories on that ride. I know life is about change, but seeing Flight Deck/Top Gun removed would be tough to swallow.
That's how I am with Vortex. It's my first coaster (6-8yo). My dad dragged me on it. I lost him 8 years ago. I'd be devastated if Vortex was destroyed. It's because of him that I love riding.
Me with Space Spiral/Disaster Transport/WildCat and all 3 are gone. I don't like looking at pictures of DT in the dismantling process and Space Spiral fenced off, almost glad I was never actually at the park during those times. Thank you grandpa for shoving me onto the rides >_>

I have a question, a lot of you have seemed to work at KI. If I'm 14 now and next year when the season starts ill still be 14 but during the season I turn 15. Would I still be able to apply or would I have to wait for the following season?
Apply once you turn 15.

The picture I posted is Peters Cartridge for those who are not caught up. It was taken last year, me and my dad were there for a reason. I don't go out of my way to trespass :b
