  1. There was a beverage stand there before if I remember correctly, that's probably it.
  2. Pretty neato, could be interesting next year.
  3. Looks like they gave my baby some love, I'm excited to see it in person when I have training tomorrow.
  4. I try to go Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. By far less crowded than the other days of the week. I've even noticed Sunday is less crowded than Monday, which is more crowded than Tuesday.
  5. Coming from someone who lost their house to a fire, I'm not offended, calm down it's a joke. But regardless, if it's such a big deal, let's just get a wrecking ball and knock SOB down.
  6. I would hope that people wouldn't honestly think that the auction winners would really be the first riders. Obviously some of the first riders are going to be Full Time Employees of the park (managers, GMs, etc) and the designers (in this case B&M). I would imagine that the employees being trained on DB would also get to ride before, it's general practice and a perk of being an employee, if you don't like it don't bid, I would hope you wouldn't be so naive.
  7. Thanks for the help Mr. Rider, it is quite appreciated!
  8. Many, many, many cycles are required to be run before people are allowed to ride. After the required number of cycles has been completed, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture completes its inspection and clears it for riding, only then will people be allowed to ride. KI will not take the risk of anyone riding before this time, as the penalties, I would assume, would be quite severe. Back in the day I was lucky enough to ride several rides before they opened to the public, but that was only after the required number of cycles and the state inspection. They will most likely let a very select few ride before April 18th, but I cannot say for sure. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! WRONG! Some people have in fact ridden Diamondback, the Ohio Department of Agriculture rules only apply to the General Public, and not to employees of the park/ contractors, etc.
  9. I don't either, but it's been years and years since I've been down there.
  10. Oh I thought they were going to pay me to ride it? That's pretty much the only way I'll get on a standard Boomerang again, OUCH!
  11. I doubt they do anything to the water to be honest, it doesn't look that bad.
  12. How about they paint it orange and blue, that'd stand out. Seriously though, I'd like to see it just repainted period.
  13. Excellent, looks like they'll be filling it this week, hopefully Helbig can catch a picture with the spray.
  14. I think it might shave off 5 minutes or so off some of the bigger rides. Just depends on the day.
  15. I got a few pms wanting me to post the picture I got sent to me last night. 1) it's from the parking lot at dusk with a cell phone camera, you can barely see anything 2) I deleted it, sorry.
  16. It's all a conspiracy so everyone on KICentral can't watch their coasterpron at work, they need Cincinnati natives to be productive at work instead of watching the webcam all day.
  17. Well the building wouldn't be totally empty, the basement is a maintainence building. Glad to hear my original baby will be open this year. In reply to the seat belt checking, sometimes the other operator in the building would have to throw the 3D glasses in a washer, or rotate out, so that might be why you only had one person checking, but I know for a fact when I was there, we tried to have 2 checking as much as possible.
  18. I was fortunate enough to receive a cell phone image of a train at the top of Diamondback's hill, pretty bad resolution, not really worth posting. Pretty exciting it made it's first run though.
  19. Pretty hilarious that they moved the webcam so people wouldn't see test runs. I knew something was up.
  20. I'm kinda thinking the test run will be tomorrow, honestly. Today would be nice though.
  21. Honestly, an amusement park like Kings Island is going to survive just fine. It's not really a destination park and most of it's visitors are pass holders. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see pass sales go up as people around the city look for a good alternative to more expensive amusements in the area.
