I think the semi hot and hot are backwards personally... Love blondes

I would say for the $5 dollar upgrade, go for it. However, I'm not really familiar with the process. If you buy a child's ticket and they are tall enough to ride rides, what prevents them from doing it?
-
Pretty shocking that it was noticed, I wouldn't have noticed it if I looked at it 1000 times probably.
-
^ You couldn't be anymore wrong. There are fins on the back of the train that spray water up. They could put them at the back of any car if they wanted, they just choose to do only the back.
-
Atleast our soldiers don't have to worry about it in this war unlike Vietnam /end politics I think the splashdown is more for visual effect and for breaking.
-
Also a lot of people don't like to get wet at amusement parks. In our digital age it may be an afterthought on a ride to say "Oh my iPod may get ruined." Also I along with alot of other people don't like walking around in wet socks and or pants.

SUNDAY--STRICKER'S GROVE FAMILY DAY
teenageninja replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^ Oxymoron above, no such thing as a "cool enthusiast" ZING. I would like to go, but I don't have the money right now, so I'm working instead. -
All B&M hypers have a chain lift. I agree though, it builds a lot of anticipation plus ride time.
-
I would imagine the station track will go in first, along with the track in the back behind The Crypt. The track over the path and over the train will probably be installed in late August/September while the park is closed for days.

Bill, Your right it was wrong for me to assume. However, I feel that $20 is a pretty small amount and thought it would be fair to say that based on these circumstances. 1) Every family has some sort of unnecessary item that they purchase be it alcohol, tobacco, carbonated beverages, that could be cut for a few weeks to save on a planned visit. 2) A majority of employers will allow employees to work overtime, allowing them to make extra income 3) Discounts are often available to offset the cost of rising gate prices. These were the factors I took into consideration and for someone who is struggling financially much more than most, I feel it was a safe statement to make. Moving on: I did not notice the fins were different colors. Did I see green, red, and black?

I think there is no doubt that as far as ride is concerned it will deliver, but if it's just sitting in a patch of dirt out there, I think that will severely detract from the ride.

Rip Ride Rockett looks pretty cool, but I think its going to have a lot of issues opening personally.
-
Maverick also had to go through a redesign after testing, costing more and probably the reason for removing some of the themeing. I'd also think they'd probably like to keep it similar to what the video shows. I know the forest won't be that full yet, but hopefully they plant some trees to cover up the dirt.

1) I believe they have the Nickelodeon rights until 2012, I think that may be what it was, it was a separate contract. 2) SoB has been a bit of a disappointment, but still a unique and a ride you have to experience at least once. It has improved since the loop was removed and the trains were changed. 3) No one has died on The Bat. 4) I believe there is still a 2 day pass. I think it was pretty much like buy one get one day, but I think they only offer them at Meijer now, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

230' is pretty tall, way above the average for coasters. Also, you'll be able to ride this more than once and it probably won't break anyone's back! I would assume gate prices wouldn't go up more than a dollar or two. I understand about fixed incomes, but even if gate went up 5 dollars (which it won't) that would be 20 dollars for a family of 4. I'm sure even with a fixed income you can swing an extra 20 dollars. Oh and before you ask, I'm a college student that pays all my bills, before you jump to conclusions.

Generic, there is only one other Diamondback ride in the entire world, pretty ungeneric to me. Also, if vertical construction is in fact done in November, then they will have time to plant all of the trees and rock and such shown in the video. I would imagine that KI would be going all out on this. McVeen's videos typically show rides almost totally accurately (see Maverick*) *note that one heartline roll was removed

Long over due for sure. A fast non looping steel. I still love my baby Vortex though.
-
I think it will be a great night ride, fast in the woods, hopefully they leave it fairly dark.
-
That's a short term topic, this can go till the season starts. Regardless, the ride looks great, higher than my expectations. Grats to Ki for putting together the marketing for this.
-
Just figured I'd start an official thread about the new ride Diamondback! Discuss.
-
They aren't lying it has loops, just horizontal ones. They aren't marketing the ride to enthusiasts, they are marketing it to the GP. If you said helix to the GP they'd think something like a DNA strand more than likely.
-
Why wouldn't you think so? Millenium Force is 310' I believe (I don't feel like looking it up). Unlikely, but not impossible.

LIFEGUARDS SAVE SWIMMER AT CONEY ISLAND
teenageninja replied to The Interpreter's topic in Coney Island Central
I know a former Coney Lifeguard pretty well and she described to me the training they go through and it is much more intense than Kings Islands. I know this because she is a KI lifeguard now. While this is just an instance of them doing their job, how often do you see a lifeguard in action at a water park? I've never seen it myself and albeit its pretty rare.
