  1. Just so you know, the upstop wheel (or concept) was invented in the 1920's. I forget the guys name, but its been around awhile. All coasters have that. Thats the second time in 24 hrs. someone has said that.
  2. Currently, our spies are lying low, but the possibility of seeing The King again are very high. Just for reference, any movements and other related news will be posted on here about The King, and any coups that happen. I did catch up with Drew, who had this to say, "Oh, dont think its over. Its far from over. Next time they try to ban me will be the last. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  3. This just in over the AP wire network: The King of PKIU will be making a stop at PKI Friday, April 9th. This visit was kept underwraps until a spy infiltrated his wareabouts at 1AM on Friday morning. The King will be making an appearance at the ACE Walkback in the morning, and hang out with his "Court" all throughout the day. This is a very good chance to meet with the King, for his wareabouts are normally in Indiana. All other actions throughout the day are unscripted, and as his security detail has stated, "It is very hard to secure each site as they stop. Those pesky police just dont know their own good." (please see below) Other possible data on The King has yet to come over the AP wire, and any changes in the scedule will be posted as a need to know basis. Tom Wilson reporting The King Looks like this. Picture donated by the San Fransisco Police Dept. Picture taken during the Kings attempt to be wed to his long time lover(pictured on the right attempting to kidnap gaint baby Chuckie Finster) Joe "Teenage Ninja" Barnett. Considered fully armed and dangerous, his crown-throwing abilities have ended 10 lives. Please approach with caution. In related news, A coup has occured in the General PKI section of PKIU Thursday night, overthrowing previous ruler Aaron "AZ_Kinda_guy (AKA Sparky)" Spriggs and putting Drew "Boobinkos" Patterson in complete control of the forum. The coup apparently started in November, when Drew was banned for a 2 weeks. Drew had this to say, "He had it coming. I told him, but he didnt listen. See if they ever ban me again!" Sparky is currently being held in the San Fransisco Prison undergoing psychological treatment. After that, his testamony will be used to find more traces of The King.
  4. Without a doubt, ride it. It is unbelieveable. Anyone else remember riding Beast with NO lighting at all? Now that was a truely humbling experience. One minute, you can hear wind, the next you hear tunnel. Hey Snake, why do you fear me?
  5. Wooden: The Beast. Theres a reason its in the top ten, and every time I ride it, I know why. Steel: Flight of Fear. I just love that ride
  6. I just wanna find out that one lonely person who voted for Delirium in the finals. Must be a very cold bench.
  7. Im the one who got Jason to work at PKI, give him rides to the park, and make sure hes behaving himself (not an easy task). You can thank me later. **Oh and for those of you who know Jason and dont know this, he is recuperating this week from surgury. He had to have dental surgury to get rid of his wisdom teeth.

Thanks for trying to answer for me, but yes I do occassionally work with Entertainment. You have probabily seen Nick around, hes from tech services. Whenever he needs help, I go help. Thats how I met ya this year Yogi, we were looking over some cable runs.
  9. Dear Lord, I did basically live in TRTR the hrs I worked it. If that park was open day/night, I would die. Then the rides would slowly go down one by one because there would be no maintenance guys to work on them, and then PKI would be no more. Think about that nightmare!
  10. Firstoff, I need to say some things. (not a long list I promise) 1) I am sorry for any comments that might have offended anyone else. Those of you who know me from this board know that I can let my emotions get ahold of me sometimes, and I just go off. It was completely out of character, and I am sorry. Theres a slight difference when you know the person who is sitting in that restraint that you are checking and not knowing the person. Plus, dry run and preview day is basically for the newbies to get their feet wet with every concievable event possible. Although the power outage wasnt planned for. Anyway, think of it was on the job training. Even I, yes the great and powerful SOBTOM, was still learning stuff when I left the rides dept. last season. Eventually the newbies will find a groove and everything will be back to normal. Oh and can we please drop all conversation from this day forward about the lights being on longer? Its just for safety purposes, thats all you need to know. Thank you.

Too bad. From what I heard it looked funny seeing me sprint up those stairs.

HAHAHA You were on the train on Lift 1! If you looked over at TRTR and saw that guy running around from the backdoor to the drivebox, that was me. All to find out Joe had the show stop pushed in. I lost (literally in one day) 10 lbs because of me running around.
  13. No, but where the origonal lights went up, the platforms were about 3 ft off the gondola. You could easily jump that. So to completly cover anything (and I have figured out how someone can get on the gondola with the platforms up) they keep them up until the ride is out of the can lights view. You guys should know by now, I am very possessive of my park. Especially TRTR.
  14. You still dont get it do you? Maybe if I talk up a little you will understand: THE RIDE OP IN THE DRIVE BOX CAN SEE MORE WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON! HE HAS THE BEST VIEW OF THE ENTIRE GONDOLA! HIS JOB IS TO MAKE SURE NOONE RUNS ONTO THE GONDOLA AND IF SOMEONE DOES TO STOP THE RIDE! SO THE LIGHTS ARE KEPT ON LONGER! I would swear there are some people on this board that have cinder blocks for skulls.
  15. Ok lets get some things straight for the Gneneral idiots who happen to carry Gold Passes and get ****ed off if one little thing goes wrong with their sneak preview: 1) Lets compare time frames between April and November. November, the bearings on the coaster wheels are well broken in, and the grease isnt goin to freeze. April, the grease hasnt had a chance to really do its job, and the bearings are brand spankin new. Let me dumb it down a little for those who carry Gold Passes: Coasters have to be run in a period called the "break in" period. Until that time expires, coasters cannot be forced to open due to cold weather. Yes, we are in the break in period. 2) Time to go back to basics on TRTR. Lets say I have point A, which I am standing at, and a point B, which is roughly 20 Ft. away. Got me so far? In order to see point B, what do I need? GOOD JOB! LIGHT!!!!!! Understand now!? 3) Lets stay on TRTR: The reasons that the shows werent up to par is because we had one hour to check them before the park opened. ONE HOUR! Do you honestly think that one hour is enough time to fix every single problem with the show? I dont think so. Thanks for playing, we have some wonderful parting gifts for you. 4) TRTR the actual ride. With the catch posistions being where they are right now, the ride will break down less, meaning you Gold Pass holders who cry to GR every time one ride goes down walks up to the line, it will be open. 5)So PKI closed early. Boo hoo. Lets see the difference between CI and PKI. CI is basically a collection of kiddie rides that noone really cares about. The only reason people go there is because of the pool. PKI is an actual theme park, with rides varying from extreme to tame. For CI to stay open, I bet they need only 100 people in the park. PKI hit 3,500 people on sunday. That means that one of the "perks" of a Gold Pass was being wasted by a lot of people. Why should PKI show gratitude for those people? 6) What is the meaning of sneak preview? It means that you get to go to something before the GP does. Nowhere, I repeat, NOWHERE did it say everything had to be working. The Beast effects are still being tweaked. I know the guy whos doin it. 7) FOF probabily went down because one of the seats was acting goofy. Get over it. You people dont deserve for the park to give you perks. Every year, all I hear is Gold Pass holders *****ing about how their perks arent open/ready/available. Turn in your Gold Pass now. I dont want you anywhere near my park.
  16. Ya know Yogi, I didnt recognize ya until after I got to my truck. It was nice to see ya again tho. I have yet to notice a difference. If you are talking about the trees in the middle of the walkways, they are probabily grown in the greenhouse. Other than that, its because they dont have leaves yet.
  17. I dont have anything about people who bring cameras when INVITED or have the permission of Paramount staff. BUT for those of you who do not get permission, just so you know it is a mistemeanor (sp?) to do so. Yes I have called the security of the park about these things, and have held people after riding who I found was using a camera. If you do this, you will get in trouble. So just dont do it.
  18. Dont feel bad, I was working that day and where they showed the person checking bars, I was on the other side of the gondola checking bars! That and during the interview of that blonde (bad hair day girl) I was sitting outside at greeter!
  19. You are forgetting: One of those areas closes at 7. Let me put it in perspective: That day, every ride had a 3 hr wait. After the park closed, down at SOB, we pushed the garbage to the retaining wall. I was uniformally 3 ft deep across. Any questions?
  20. Keep your eye out for a white Chevy S-10 with Tech services on the side. If you see someone wearing a brown flight jacket, thats me (most likely in the passenger seat since Im not that strong on driving manuals yet)
  21. La Perrisenne (sp, I know). Its located across the street from International Showplace
  22. ::Starts dancing:: {sings} No more geust relating! No more guest relating! Hehe I love my new posistion. Tom, who didnt see the light of day other than to get some fresh air at work today.
  23. Get realistic. PKI could probabily afford any ride it wants, but the public doesnt want it. Therefor, why would they buy a rusted Piece of junk (in todays standards) when they can buy something else that will bring in more guests? O and I just picked up, you were being sarcastic, werent you?
  24. I guarantee you I will be the first at the park on this board. There is no way any of you are gonna show up at 7. Yes, I will be there, but you probabily wont see me. Just look for the guy (if you are lucky you will see me) wearing maintenance blues with Tom on the shirt.
  25. I know that Slingshot has a minimum weight, but I dont think a max weight. The min weight is 150LBS.
