Just curious (shaggy lives near by), are the old shoes from KI still on the Kentucky Kingdom property?
We rode those on Easter many years ago when KK was still in operation. Actually rode most rides there. Not a big fan of T2 and hoping the sisters get a good makeover.
-
And the first to report what they find is......
-
And since we see no other work/clearing beyond the area behind AE (the valley), do we assume that is as far out as this ride will go?
-
so all you ride builders, what are those new large footers near the fence for?

Raptor II - The Sequel

I've been following this thread for a while but had nothing to contribute until now. I know there was a small lynch mob formed because of a supposed sighting of Intamin track on I-71, but I have something to report.
I'm not going to say for sure that I saw coaster supports on I-275 (just past the Coney Island exit and before the Highway 52 exit), but I think I did. There were two trucks pulled over on the side of the road, each with about half a dozen long cylindrical support-looking objects on them. The "supports" were silver...shiny silver, not gray. A couple of them had smaller cylinders branching off of the main post. I'm not an expert in coaster supports, but that is what they looked like to me. Since they were pulled over, I didn't realize what they were until after I had already passed them and I was on my way to work, otherwise I would have tried to get a picture. I work in Clermont County, but it seems like the trucks would have had to have come from Kentucky or Kellogg Avenue by the way they were facing.
So, if this turns out to be nothing...don't hunt me down and beat me. But if it does turn out to be something, I just wanted to put it out there that I saw them.
Were these possibly just light poles for highway lights or such? Sounds more like that than supports for a ride.

I have seen that 240 deg sign there for a couple years. I believe there is also one above the front gate.
I figured it out!!!
Don's been tweeting old song lyrics..
Coaster & old songs = Freestyle Music Park - TIME MACHINE - were getting a used B&M..
Those footers are in just the right elevation and configuration for an out and back RIGHT????
All the footers near Delirium are for the double helix.

Anyone checked Freestyle park lately?

Please note this post is satirical.

Where is our aerial picture person? Some one needs to do a flyover so we can map out the footers.

Tips for Maverick:
I've been able to successfully ride Maverick without ANY headbanging. I tend to keep my head back instead of leaning forward. I also don't hold on to the hand bars, and instead hold onto the OTSRs about shoulder level. I keep my head pushed back against the seat and use my upper body strength to grip the OTSRs and brace my body. I also keep my neck and shoulders tense so I can avoid whiplash. And by somewhat leaning into the turns in addition to all this, I've managed to have perfect rides. You have to ride tensely, but if you don't, you'll end up with bruises.
I'd also like to see Maverick's restraints swapped out, but I'll continue to ride it since it's awesome and I've learned how to ride it defensively.
You have to ride tensely, but if you don't, you'll end up with bruises
This is why I dont ride..

I really would love something similar to a Maverick type coaster, but maybe double the length(and height). That is currently my favorite ride, and thats even after riding Gatekeeper.
But please use the I305 type harnesses. I have not ridden I305 but have Maverick. I hear CP will not change out the harness but if they did I would ride it again. Do not like the head bashing. Even my kids complain about it.

Yeah, I have done many tours in FOF and seen all the 'stuff' in there.
As for the shed, I would say it is cleared out when/if that area gets used.
I still believe 2014 ride is not a big as a footprint as some believe but hopefully wrong.
But really, when do you just get rid of stuff. Some of it is 'historical' for the park but is just rusting
outside so why keep it all. They just need to build a big storage building and store whatever they
keep there if it is worthwhile to keep. Hey they tried selling SOB track pieces, so how about bolts.
Anyone know really how many pieces of SOB were sold? I did my time on that ride and way over it.

Try 'snickers bar' scrambled = 'bearskin'

So is there any proof or rumor that the area cleared is not the entire area for the new ride?
So what ride would fit in that area?
-
Well my bet is Gravity Group for the next coaster. Take out what dont work and replace with what does. Rode SOB many times including with ACE at 6AM on preview day and it was by far the worst ride Ive been on (except the loop). So hoping GG will take all they have done to today and make the KI ride one up on all of them. How about an inversion in a tunnel?

Well Jeff mentioend a couple years ago when there was lots of change in personnel that he was not getting the same connectivity/response from the new group and thus discontinued it. But it is worth always asking again to see if he could try again and see.

Sorry if I am a reader and not responder. I love the trip reports people do and I have never responded to them. I know you can count views so to me that was my response. If someone knows people are reading it that was good for me and not trying to diss their hard work. I do hope you post all of the pics here as I am a resident of this area since the park was built and love to see pics from the past and current. Still wish KI would publish a book just on the story of KI. There is the coney island book and the videos of the start of KI, but a nice coffee table book would be a good addition.

Yeah, as soon as I read this I thought this should go in the 'Guests say the darnedest things' thread.
I would let it go and laugh this one off. This is an everyday item at many parks I would assume.
-
They have had it for specific rides but never as a whole park event.
-
Well this was after the presentation and they would not need to be testing them then.
We were leaving after all that and saw them out there driving in the lot.
Just wondered what that was all about.
-
I have a question about the Media day when the Italian Job ride opened.
We were there and left during the downpour that day during the lunch.
When we left, we saw the stunt drivers out in the parking lot driving around
what appeared to be a course setup. Did they have ride alongs available
that day for people as well or was that just for show from them to drive around
and have pictuures/video taken?

Ok, So now the 2 missing web cams (Diamondback and Dinosaur Walk) are now active at the end of the year? What was up with those till now? They worked off and on and mostly off
-
Yeah, this is great. I actually want to post/view the boards again.
It was getting SO SLOW for me.

Would 'Amusement Dark' have to do with anything CP might be announcing? Heard their are rumors of a new dark ride.
