  1. It's a worn out, tired topic.

I have to agree that it has been drove into the ground, but does this also mean that there is some grounds for KI to try and save it? It seems that KI enthusiast have SOB on their minds a lot. Even GP friends of mine ask me about what is happening to the ride. I seem to get asked at least every few weeks by someone. Either way, I think this is some prof for KI that there is enough interest in the ride to at least entertain the idea of fixing.

Well with a big structure like that in the skyline, people will talk and wonder.

Still my opinion, get rid of it and try something else (B&M is coming out with some really fun stuff)

  2. Yeah, I was really hoping to hear KI announce that they would add one of these next year.

They can start to bring that ride type up to this region.

The waterpark really needs something. Plus figure out how to have a much cooler walking surface.

  3. So why are we not seeing this feature at Cedar Point now?

That might be a park I would pay $50 to jump into lines for rides.

They have a set of big rides that I am sure people would jump at this deal for.

  4. Yes I have ridden The Beast since its opening. I loved to ride the front seat when they were enclosing the helixes.

You used to feel like you were going to fly off into the posts sticking up.

Also think the joining of the mid tunnels into one was a great idea.

  5. I would not call SOB aggressive, i always referred to it as INTENSE.

And some of us just called it terrible.

I just called it Unbearable! Voyage is intense (in a good way).

I rode it for media day and it was ok and the loop was the best part.

Now with the loop gone and ride rough, just get rid of it, cut losses and move on.

  6. I too miss the Tumblebug at KI in the original classic Oktoberfest area. But I have ridden the Tumblebug at Kennywood many times. We venture up there and our whole party takes one car and rides it the classical smashing way. As for the Lost River, that scared the crap out of me as a kid at Coney. Ride into dark tunnel ride with nothing, then out and what seemed straight down! Loved that ride.

  7. I just know people would complain if the brand new ride wasn't part of ERT...

I would not complain. They should have it in addition to Beast/Diamondback if they can.

The other 2 would be open. But agree they just need to get over the quirks and get it going.

Maybe I will try ERT and get on it....

  8. But, it's RARELY open for ERT! it's not reliable enough for it. Yesterday, it was replaced by Shake Rattle N Roll and they were assigning seats! Really? Go back to the 2 most reliable rides in the park, Beast and Diamondback!

That's funny, do the cars still have numbers? Or do the ride ops just point and say, "ya'll take that one!"

The best part of Shake, Rattle, and Roll is the front seat! Well worth the wait.

Assigning seats on shake rattle and roll :-)

Well checking cams I see CP and KI WindSeeker not running. Go Figure.

Wish we had a cam for CW as well.

  9. Hi...

About once a year, I purge items I have stored away in the basement that go without use. Recently, I pulled out a small box of items that had a few rarer KI/Amusement park souvenirs I had from years ago. I wanted these to go to a fellow KI fan that would enjoy/cherish them as I did. I put them on Ebay because that will ensure that they will be bought by a collector.

One of the items is really rare - the media invite for the hugely guarded secret 2000 attraction that ended up being Son of Beast. Wait until you see what they sent to invite me to the announcement!

In addition, there's the HTF RL Stine Beast books:

And a few other park related items someone may want:

I hope these find a new, good home ;-)

    Happy 4th!

    Shaggy

I was there media day and got the ride packet they handed out and a SOB pin.

Have both still but keeping mine.

  10. yes, we were there last night from 8 - close and the sign said closed (all day)???

It was a perfect night even though it rained early it was gone by mid afternoon.

It is also a ride we have tried several times to ride and find it closed whenever we are there.

I see on the web cam CP ride many more days than ours......

  11. Ok, just got back from KI today. Yeah it rained early today but since early afternoon great weather.

So we arrive at 8 pm to ride WindSeeker. Oh yeah, its CLOSED (all day). Huh, come on, why do we

continue to have new rides (yes I know a prototype) closed. I really want to ride it but this is getting to

be a joke. Crowds light and perfect weather. So what are the excuses nowadays? Seriously, they need

to have the home page with a link (like CP did with Top Thrill Dragser) and say if the ride is open or not.

It just seems like there is way too many days it is down. I am beginning to loose any appeal to ride this

but really want to do so.

post edit: Well from what I am reading, downtime for this ride is getting to be quite common :-(

  12. What is going on with the Diamondback and Dinosaur cams, they have been down for days now.

Are they moving them to better views (especially the Dinosaur cam)

    Anyone heard anything?

  13. yeah I am really wondering about the wind thing as well.

They got this style so it could run in winds, obviously not high winds.

I think the real design was for CP and if it met that standard it would be ok.

But after seeing some videos and hearing about it closing, not sure about this.

I figured that the arms were rigid more than they are and so did others. If they

were it should be able to take higher winds. I do like the idea of having a wind

speed monitor by the ride. Then if they say no rides when > 10 mph and the

gauge shows 11 mph, they can explain. I agree it is probably a fun ride (not on

yet) but seems like a odd one to put in 4 parks. Well I am not the marketing

manager or park designer so that is their job. Just wondering how this ride will

    do long term.
