  1. On a flat ride like this, when they post the "ride cycle" as 3 minutes, does that mean from when it starts to move until it stops? If that's the case it seems like not a lot of time will be spent spinning up top.

From what I remember reading, the ride will take 1 minute to ascend, 1 minute spinning on top, and 1 descending. I'm not sure if this is will remain true though.

Well watch the CW WindSeeker run and if you time how it runs now that seems to be the answer. It seems to take longer on way down but think that is now just because they have just started running it. Like all rides, it will get tweaked as they learn and use it more. But I do not expect more than 1 min on top. It is a pretty big arc so it may seem slow but think it is moving faster than

    you think.

  2. Same here, we were at Coaster Mania from Friday till today. As far as Cedar Points WindSeeeker it look like Kings Island WindSeeeker with the same type of work in progress. It did go up and down a bit over Friday and Saturday and at one point while we were watching All Wheels Extreme show yesterday WindSeeker did spin around at a decent speed but only about 30 feet off the ground. Shortly after that not much more than the usually work scene we have all grown accustom to.

I did like Cedar Points WindSeeker location a lot. It will give great views of the lake and while sitting on the edge of the amusement park border it will allow a great view of the park with out too much need to look straight down.

Yes we will be back again at CP later this year (with Platinum Pass) and hope to ride it then.

It will by far be the best with views. Finally rode power tower down this year and view

at top will be similar and is great.

  3. I am sure once they get it worked out it will be a fun time!

Well still wondering why they built all at once.

I was wondering if they ordered the one for CP and then got a deal on four.

So decided what the heck and put them in the other parks.

It just seems with the delay/confusion at Knotts that the location and such was last minute.

Not for sure of this but would be curious to hear what is known about the multi ride deal.

It might have been a good deal but then build one and test it out for a year then build the others.

Remember Stealth when they built it in CA and then ran and tested it for a year in the park before even

opening the ride. Not saying they need a year but same idea. Build/Test/Fix then build more.

  4. As for the gift shop, what if they are trying to stay with a theme? Think about it this way: An actual building would not give the illusion of trying to track down dinosaurs, but a tent gives the illusion of a "base camp" of sorts: One that can pack up and be transported to the next spot as the animals naturally migrate.

Nah, temp attraction with a rental tent....

For more realistic it would be camoflauge and such.

  5. That arm will not come loose.

Something tells me that they can not say that to an insurance company.

You always prepare for something like that with a backup.

It wont happen it does. That ride in China where the car came off and went flying......

Also, do you think this ride will be the full 3 minutes.

I have watched the CW version testing and it was a 2 min video and I do agree it might be a little more in time but not much.

This will have a very long slow line since it is single threaded. So 3 min ride, 1 minute load, 1 min unload...... not sure aboui that.

  6. I really think this will be a huge hit, hopefully profitable enough to finance an inverted B&M and a twisty GCI or GG woodie (and a re-profiled and rideable SOB (with the loop(dreaming, I know))).

Let's hope. You gotta admit having a tent for the front entrance isn't exactly a vote of confidence for a long run. Maybe it's there just to provide a big "reveal" on opening day.

According to picture 3 on the link provided, it is a gift shop. Still shows signs of here today, gone next year.

And hope it can stand some windy days or there will be merchandise all over the place.

So from all the pics I still do not see a trail. Will it be paved/easy access? What about strollers/wheelcharis?

  7. So it appears that WindSeeker has sat non-running for a week or so now.

Do they first test it here and then call in the inspector or what?

I agree from this viewpoint it will be a bit until it is running.

I know that CP is moving along but will miss their opening as well.

Wonder if Canada's Wonderland will be first. They have been way ahead.

Would/Could they be the first park?
