So I am guessing they did another concrete pour or what is the reason for the blue tarps?
-
It doesn't stop them... see SFOG for reference... it just appeases the Insurance Company. ;-)
Shaggy
Agreed..

This is just a guess but it looks like they are building a fence along the swan lake path.
I'd also expect a lock-out fence surrounding the splashdown pool in addition to an esthetic perimeter fence.
Yes we need to protect people from joining the Darwin Society.

Well we have a yellow train, a 'silver' train and what will be the third color?
Did not find any train color info on the official site...

Well it would be nice to see the park at a new area called 'Lost Coney'. Bring back some old rides like the rotor, eagles, whip, tumble bug and such. Get a new family area to add with the kid area. I know you read that some of these rides are no longer available but I think with a little work, they could be brought back. It would be a mid level ride area for families to enjoy together.

ok, lots of talk about the zero car graphics. But I have yet to see a good picture of it.
Can someone post a pic or link to a good shot of it?
-
yes and this means higher speed & forces on those spots vs. the slower ending.
-
when/where will we see the official announcement?
-
I really expected to read a note that someone had emailed/phoned Don to let him know that the webcam was down and could he fix it..... :-)

Wonder why part of the transfer track area to holding area does not have the criss cross supports (X) but the one half does.
-
Any ideas about what the digging work they are doing at the final drop into the splash?
-
So when is the actual Media Day date/time?
-
I wonder why they have not put a plastic wrap around the top section like they did on the bottom when the concrete was poured.
It would at least keep some of the elements out and let them work in a little nicer environment.

The official answer from the official man in an email to me:
There will not be a walk back to The Beast this season for members of an accredited roller coaster club/organization. Gold and Platinum pass holders will have early access on Diamondback every public operating day, as well as another major roller coaster. Coaster club members that do not have a Gold or Platinum pass will be able to participate in the early rides on Diamondback and second coaster by showing their valid membership card.

MikeJenkins1, this year, if you have a Gold or Platinum pass and are a member of a card issuing coaster club, you will be allowed to participate in the pass holder early ride time. If you are not a pass holder (like mentioned above), then you will be able to show your membership cards to participate in the early ride time. The early ride time will be on Diamondback, but could also feature another ride. The exact details of the times and what other rides, if any, that will be offered has not been released yet. The old way of being escorted and the first to line up for The Beast or other rides is essentially now gone. You will be participating with the pass holders` early ride time. Which is better than just standing in a line waiting for the ride to start at 10, right?
So the exclusive walk back days (ACE card carrying member) are gone?
There will not be a Coaster Geek ride time prior to Gold/Platinum ride time? Just wonder since that means it would
essentially be packed now instead of just a few.

I have been an ACE member for MANY years and we have used the ACE (or other club) walkback for years. Last year was really great many times as my sons and I (and an occasional friend of the kids) were the only ones there for the walkback. We once got 3 laps on Beast before the park even opened. I am not sure what the mention of Gold/Platinum passes has to do with anything. It was only for coaster club members before so what does a Gold/Platinum pass help out? My question for this year and it appears so, is can we choose Diamondback over Beast or do we now get one on both? If the later one then this is especially sweet.

Wow! 2 guys are ascending the first lift hill for some kind of inspection/track work.
That must be cold on a day like today.
-
Will the ACE walkback include Diamondback as an option?
-
Yeah and I just noticed that Clifford is on the prowl again. They have it behind Crypt and I would guess getting ready to work drop #2.
-
Happened to be watching at the same time. Did they carry it under the track or around on the path I wonder?

very quiet day on the site

This might be a dumb question but it's bugging the heck out of me. In this picture:
http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...m=278&pos=2
the track piece is connected to another dark red piece before attaching to the support. I thought the track bolted directly to the support. Does anyone know what the reason for this is. Its really bothering me.
My guess is that piece in between is an adjuster piece. Just in case the track did not meet up they can fenagle it with that attachment piece.

Not much lifting going on in the webcams today so far. Seems to be a lot of work around the station and they have 3 different lifts around the crypt. Clifford is out of sight and I think the smaller crane is back from the HammerHead, but has been sitting most of the day.
I believe I have seen more than one smaller crane.
-
no, saw it moving around earlier this morning. Also seem to note that there are 2 smaller white cranes out there.
One in the back and one where they have been working.
