  1. This will be the most negative thing that I have ever posted on this board...but here goes...I can't tell you how much it bothers me to see people toss around what they feel is an acceptable fatality rate. These are people's lives we are talking about. Even if the death rate is 1 in 10,000...who wants to pick either themselves or one of their family members to be that 1? Whenever I read that there is an "acceptable death rate" it reminds of wartime when the "powers that be" decide what is an acceptable number of soldiers to sacrifice to accomplish something...all the while they themselves are nice and safe. To anyone who feels that there is an acceptable death rate I say, "Here, you first". (Mods feel free to delete this if you want...it's just something that I have wanted to say for awhile and I finally reached my breaking point.)

But then again some of you were the ones fighting over crane names....

Oh the good old days when we were young...how I wish we could go back to them...speaking of that, did I ever tell you I walked 6 miles back and forth from school everyday?! :P

  3. I appreciated when the powers that be decided to bring back an ivy tunnel...it isn’t something that was actually necessary, so it was nice that they cared enough about their customers to go to the added expense. :)

    This color scheme?

I’m torn, it was handy knowing what color of car the person(s) you wanted to take a picture of while they (not you) were riding...but I must say, the newest paint job does look great/retro.

Whatever they do, people will complain and will be lining up in the "make me whole department" line...

I know...they used to say that the only things you could count on in life were death & taxes...but they need to update that saying to include this!

Excellent Beast example!  But of course people will say they could sell the wood to enthusiasts...

Back in the day when they sold Son of Beast track pieces and bolts when it closed, the park originally stated that pieces of wood would be offered...then they nixed that idea....I believe it was because it was treated lumber and there were safety concerns.

  7. As for The Interpreter, I have always thought he was an acquired taste...you just had to know how to read his comments, otherwise they could sometimes come off as rude...which I don’t think was ever his intention. I only had the privilege of meeting him a couple of times in person, and I concur, he was always nice.

I mean this as no slight, but I am looking at this from a different perspective.

I lost my job once due to downsizing years ago* I can understand your feelings, it can be scary. Unless someone has been through this it is hard to understand how it feels. (Things that you once considered important don’t even enter your mind because of the really important things that you are dwelling on.)

Once again, I wish you all the best and try to keep thinking positive...although I know through experience that is hard.

*In the end I did find a new/better job and it turned out fine...I hope the same for you.
