Death at Six Flags over Texas

If you do believe in an afterlife, and it appears that you do, I'm certain your best friend is looking down on you and smiling....and he walks with you everyday. You'd be surprised of the little reminders of his presence that will appear to you. One day you will be reminded of a situation, or a joke, or smell and he'll be right there with you....always and forever! -

Death at Six Flags over Texas

Hey, I'm one of those big guys and not the least bit offended. I do have questions about why I am able to fit easily in the red train of the Red Racer, but was only able to get one click on the Blue Racer. Anyway, I avoid the attractions where a.) I'm too big or b.) the ride is uncomfortable.....the rider needs to think logically and determine if the ride is right for them and avoid those rides that could be an issue. I'm not sure of the controls on Texas Giant, but because it appears to be an aggressive ride, do they check in the booth to see if the ride is locked before dispatching? Can this be verified by a computer readout later to determine if all seats were locked before dispatch? -
Even if you fly through one at 50 mph? LOL (I know....wouldn't see much would you....)

I like how you think!..... and with a new chief....anything is possible...

fryoj said "Thats true, but inverts usually seem to be around 35 degrees. Not saying it can't be 45, but it would be unusual.' I'm with you on this....just wishful thinking on my part.... Although, Alpengheist is 195 feet tall, not sure of the distance from the station to the first drop.

Hmmm.....reminds me of "Monsters vs Aliens"....remember Bob the Blob.... Lol.....maybe the coaster name will be "Ginormica" after the main character.
-
I did the math a while back, this is going to put the lift hill at around 150 foot. That falls into the range typically seen on inverts. If the lift hill is 45 degrees it could be around 200 feet tall.

I have more photos to upload tonight around 7pm. Some footers have been completed and there are forms where footers are located, some for footers that were difficult to see before.

Death at Six Flags over Texas

I had the misfortune of being at Geauga Lake (for the first time ever ) the day the Raging Wolfbobs derailed. I had ridden the coaster earlier that day in the black train in the last car. I had circled the park and was coming back towards the coaster, when there was as popping sound like air brakes. POP POP POP POP . I looked upwards and saw the black train rolling backwards down the turn around and valleying out in a dip. You could easily see the last back car being pulled over the inner track supports. I was stunned. I wanted to go help them but my friend said to let the park security/maintenance get there and that we would only be in their way. I stood and watched, as the people were led, one by one from their cars. Needless to say, I was kind of in a state of shock...I couldn't fathom what had just happened and it affected the rest of the day. Although this was an accident and no one died on the Wolfbobs, the Texas Giant accident is far worse and more traumatizing. Not only were the family exposed to the trauma, so where the guests and staff....I'm still upset about this this morning. I pray for that these folks find peace. -

Shaggy said "Huh? I didn't know B&M trains were advanced enough that a computer monitored each and every restraint. Firehawk does in-station... but I always assumed B&M's went by the "click" rule - thats the reason for those guidemarks at the base of the restraint pole. I've never heard of ANY coaster E-stopping if a restraint fails. Seems like this would require a ton of diagnostic equipment on the train itself. ___ It's two clicks in the station, once you leave the station, you're on your own. -
Guy's...let's be logical....It's at least nine months before this coaster should be up and running....The first piece of coaster track probably won't arrive until late October at the earliest.
