The Bat is easily one of the hardest things to search for on this site. 'The' and 'Bat' are both three letter words and the search option doesn't allow words under four letters in length.

^Sometimes not acting like a pompous jerk works too. Had it not been for already knowing that was a picture os Son of Beast's field post deconstruction, I would have thought it was from pre-construction.

"Cowperthwaite says she is not an activist, and had no intention of proselytizing when she set out to make her heart-wrenching feature."
Filling this with nothing but negative images and then stating that you're not trying to convert people to a different viewpoint is ridiculous to say. Unfortunately I feel that this could end up being terrible for the orcas that are currently in captivity in the SeaWorld parks.

^LaRosa's Pizza, not the fudge shop.

I'm not going to win any photography awards with this picture:
Hard: Whole Giant Top Spin, with lights on.
Easy: The Beast's sign.

^Restraint pain is one of the biggest reasons that I only ride Maverick for the sake of riding it.

I voted for positive g-forces. Speed and a fantastic drop are close seconds, though.

...so does Voyage, that's the point.

Not specifically at Kings Island, but because of Kings Island... Ever since the Paramount Rides were given their new names (i.e.- Drop Tower, Backlot, Flight Deck) I have an extremely difficult time calling The Italian Job (movie) by its real name. 9 times out of 10 I end up saying, 'I really want to watch Backlot, I love that movie.'

^Diamondback took longer to construct than, I'm guessing, you think. Land clearing and placing footings started at the end of the 2007 season and continued into 2008. Then it took roughly five months (August to January) to go completely vertical.

I wasn't called until 2:30 today, soon after came the charge. I wouldn't fret just yet, I'm sure they have a ton of people to call.

The arrow pointing to the red objects: Those are the old trains for Son of Beast.
As for the blue objects, I have absolutely no idea.
-
I love how the promo video for Iron Rattler uses the same snake that was used in the Diamondback promo. haha

Wow!! Thats pretty cool, I like how you were able to match each photo from the same position. Everytime I see the old SOB half torn apart, I think about the old days when trains still ran the rails of the wooden monstrosity.
Thanks! I never really planned on doing this, so the last two don't match up as well as the rest.
Now they need to run that train one more time down the hill. Off the rails, Just like we do in RCT3.
As much as I'd hate to see that, it does sound like it would be interesting to watch. haha
VERY cool...thank you for taking the time to do this!
Thank you for the inspiration!

So, I got a little board today while home from college and decided to try to match up some of my Son of Beast photos from 2010 with some I took on closing day 2012. A great deal of this inspiration came from a fantastic thread by our very own standbyme called, "Standing within' 3 feet of 1974." If you're new and/or haven't had a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. Just click on the link: http://www.KICentral...__fromsearch__1
Now I present to you Standing within' 3 feet of 2010: Son of Beast Edition! I hope you enjoy!

No, the guy I spoke with said that they were making the pieces as they went and wouldn't ship until they were finished. Plus, I doubt they'll ship anything until they're sure you've been charged.
-
^Has the park charged you yet? I still haven't had a call back to confirm the final cost with shipping.
-
^GCI would be great, but I really hope that it isn't a hybrid. I love traditional wooden roller coasters so much more.

Great photos! You got a lot more than I did.
If you liked this year's event, wait until next year!
I know that the event was just a few weeks ago, but is there a date already set for next summer's? Every year I end up being out of town for the event and I really want to make it for 2013!
-
^One other person, but that juggling act was nothing compared to herding 15 second graders throughout the park for an entire day. haha
-
^At the same time, they are willing to give you as many as you need. Last Tuesday I picked up fifteen at Juke Box Diner with no questions as to where the group I was chaperoning was.

Perhaps The Vortex would have been constructed in another section of the park...
I feel like I've read on this site that Vortex was built by Arrow as kind of a 'sorry for messing up so bad on The Bat.' If that is true, then it would be weird seeing how the park built up over the years without two of its current major thrill rides (Flight Deck and Vortex).

I would love to see Cedar Point/Cedar Fair let the public pick the name of the new coaster.
Any suggestions guys?
Mine is Steel Scorpion
After the public thought that Dragster H2O was a great name for Soak City's new water slide, I'm hoping they have nothing to do with it...

The Bat

I had no idea that search algorithms worked in KICentrals search option. Thanks for that.
