  1. That is regarding the "August" halloween Announcement, not a new attraction for the park......these topic boards are different.

the same question was posed, what do you speculated could be announced, nowhere was it confirmed that this "august" announcement, that was leaked by a news channel, was going to be about Halloween Haunt. :) just because the park has said that there will be an announcement in august about Halloween Haunt doesn't mean that it's the only thing that's going to be announced in august.

Personally I don't think its the same thing because to me "fall" is not August. It's Sep-Nov.

...and personally i think they are the same, the time periods are close together and you asked the same question that was implied at the start of the other thread. it gets confusing when there are two threads going on with the same question, especially when the only difference is the month it's taking place.

  2. i've heard that it should be up and running by the end of next week.

also, the area that you referred to as 'the slow part before the corkscrews' is the mid-course brake run, it's there to do just as you have seen, prevent the train from entering the next block section if the train before it is still in it. i haven't been to the park in a while, but is the third train sitting on the final brake run, or is it pulled off into the maintenance shed?

  3. And yesterday was Tuesday, not Monday....

I was really disappointed on Monday. Most of the day, the people working on WindSeeker were very confident that the ride would open at 8 or 9. Knowing this, me and my friends got outside the line at 8 to wait. There were two ride ops there that said they weren't sure if it would open. After a while, a line of at least 50 people formed. Around 9, the maintenance workers cleaned up everything making most confident. After they all left into the room by the bathrooms, a man in a greenish suit said that they were not finished and couldn't open the ride that night. I really wish that the maintenance workers had said something a little earlier as from what I've heard it still hasn't opened meaning that they should have had an idea.

  4. sorry, i know this isn't at Kings Island, but yesterday at steak n' shake a girl, who was taking the 'damsel in distress' gag to a new level, yelled above the restaurant, "i just don't understand it, when we got here i was starving, and now that we're leaving i'm not hungry anymore!"

many people were blankly staring at her like 'really?'

  5. ArkEncounter2.png

this is the proposed area in grant county, kentucky where ark encounter will be built. i live roughly fifteen minutes north of here and, if possible, i'm going to ask the judge executive if i could take pictures during construction. if so, i'll be sure to post the progress here.

blue- roughly the area where ark encounter will be located once completed

purple- veteran cemetery north, located in williamstown, kentucky

    yellow- interstate 75

red- williamstown, kentucky exit (cannot recall exit number)

  6. on rides like Invertigo and vampire, it usually happens when the catch car on the second lift hill doesn't grab hold of the train, in turn causing the train to not fall down the second hill far enough to have enough speed to complete the circuit.

on rides like top thrill dragster and Flight of Fear, the launch just didn't give the train enough speed to make it through the course.

  7. i'm not completely sure of the parks layout but i believe that the entrance will be close to the full sized ark and then the rest of the park behind it.

i'm really excited about this, first because these are usually shot down by those of other religions and second because it will be located nearly in my grandparent's front yard.

  8. to me it looks like it's just a problem with the number of the 'giant' rides they have out, giant frisbees, giant top-spin, and the topple tower, the have so few of each model out (two giant frisbees, one giant top-spin, and one? topple tower) and they don't have a large supply of the larger parts for the rides meaning instead of wasting money keeping basically an extra of a one of the rides they just make/order the parts as needed (i.e. when Kings Island waits for over a month waiting on a piece for Delirium.).
