  1. I really would not hold your breath for a good logo.

Not only is CF (and others) notorious for reusing ride names, but logos as well.

A good example of this would be; at Worlds of Fun they have a ride called Detonator (Power Tower) but with Mean Streak's logo.

    wow they're cheap

Parks are cheap because they reuse the same logos?

    Are ya kidding me?

I would rather see any corporation use the same exact logo on their product, and spend their money on different things, or make things cheaper for me.

Do you actually think that GE, one of the largest corporations in the World, has a different logo for all of their different products? Absolutely not. You see the same GE logo on a light bulb or a locomotive.

i don't know why but to me a roller coasters logo is part of it's identity. And reusing it takes away the fact that it is one of a kind.

  3. I like Kings Island a lot, it's a good place to go and have fun with your friends. Obviously, but the problem is whenever I go there me and my friends usually are ready to leave after like 5 hours. I wish we could stay longer but there just isnt much to do. Lets be honest... Tomb Raider and Son of Beast are terrible rides so we dont even ride those, italian job (backlot stunt track) is ok and top gun (flight deck) just isnt the same. Adventure Express is for kids basically so thats out. So that leaves Vortex, Invertigo, The Beast, Drop Tower, delerium, Firehawk, The Racer, and Flight of Fear. These rides are great and all but its just not that many. Those can be done and overwith fairly quick. I just wish there were more sweet rides to go on. I could spend a weekend at Cedar Point and not want to leave at any point but you cant even get through half a day at pki without getting fairly bored. Im just hoping they get a few new rollercoasters and thrill rides in the upcoming years. Is anyone with me on this one?

you really need to give Son of Beast and the crypt(tomb raider) another chance. Son of Beast is alot smoother than it was and the crypt, for the time it ran last year, was running alot better imo exept that they had taken alot of the things the ride did out like when it holds you upside down

  4. It seems that not much new information has come about for the rumor coaster lately, but in looking through the 90 pages of info, there are a few questions that pop out to me.

Now, IF this coaster is really going to happen, and IF the construction is as far along as is rumored, what do you suppose will happen come April 19? Will we have some sort of press release by then do you suppose?

Rumor has it that there are footings in Swan Lake already, do you suppose they will try to disguise them somehow if they are in fact there? What about construction in the woods that is visible from the Eiffel Tower?

Or, do you suppose they will just hide everything in plain sight like the did Maverick at CP?

it would be tough to hide a roller coaster on swan lake like they did maverick, because maverick was built in an area that was sorta hidden unlike swan lake that has a main path that runs along side it

  5. ^Top Guns sign is at the front of the queue right out by Son of Beast's sign! And yes, I have heard Monster called octopus as well, but usually I hear spider, not sure why, but thats what Ive mostly heard!

doesn't the tunnel in the q-line say top gun too?

  6. Definately! When they get in line it will be for "the swinging coaster" or "this one" or whatever they choose to call it. I've noticed the public doesn't always pay attention to names. If they did, they'd see there's no "s" in Racer.

I agree with you completely, It is very seldom when either visiting or working at the park that I ever hear a guest call a ride by its given name. They always want to know what the grey and red one is. Or where they can find The Racer(s). Of course Monster is almost always the spider, and Vortex is usually "that one" (points to the sky above BSC's plaza).

i have never heard monster called the spider. i always hear people call it the octopus

and does top gun/ flight deck even have a sign?

  7. Great! Right as the new names were beginning to grow on me (maybe not Flight Deck just yet), Cedar Fair comes out with their latest naming masterpiece: Drop Tower. Geez, what a great idea, they should rename all rides to a description of the ride itself.

    Beast - Wood Coaster

    Vortex - Twisty Steel Track

White Water Canyon - Rafts on Rough Water

    Adventure Express - Mine Train

    Racer - Side-by-side Coaster

    Firehawk - Flying Coaster

Eiffel Tower - 1/3 Replica of the real Eiffel Tower

Oh man with names like that I should be head of whatever department they have in charge of naming the rides at Cedar Fair, I have their strategy down!

Drop Tower is by far the worst name they could've come up with, it seems like they couldn't care less.

And Browntggr, you say it doesn't matter what the ride is named because it is still the same ride. I have kinda picked up on the fact that one of the big problems most people had about Paramount was not the rides they added, because most were pretty good, but the fact that they let the atmosphere of the park go to waste. I don't know about you but for me ride names add somewhat to the atmosphere of the park and generic, unimaginative ride names kind of give the impression that they were afterthoughts and that Cedar Fair could care less. Not exactly the kind of image you want, and I I just hope that if we do get the coaster in 2009 that many people believe we are, I hope they spend more than 5 minutes naming it, I would rather not have to hear New in 2009, HyperCoaster! Just my 2 cents.

    Edit -- v I changed it.

yes i aggree that Drop Tower was a horrid name but look at Cedar Point, alot of there flat rides have the names the manufactures gave them.

    for example troika, and matterhorn

  8. ^But my teacher used to work at Kings Island as heady of saftey (i think)

And she was there when the accident happened.

and putting a B) is just obnoxious.

well your obnoxious so it all balances out
