  1. i am not sure if this is a rumor but since i have never read anything about it i'm guessing that it is.

one day soon after ttd was opened they were running test runs over and over to see if it was running properly and it did and when they opened it up to the public that day the first train sent out got up to the top of the top hat and the train split and the first three cars made it over then the last two cars and the fake engine rolled backwards down the top hat

  2. ^Well, in that case let's just get rid of every restraint in the park! ;)

well what do you think makes the clicking noise? because last time i checked hydrolic fluid doesn't click

  3. The smurf`s were given their eviction papers for the very same reason that the original Enchanted Voyage crew had to vacate the premises. They lost their appeal to the crowds visiting the park, particularly the younger set of guests. This is the same reason why Hanna Barbera Land vacated the property and became Nickelodeon Universe. Ultimately, Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle will likely meet the same fate as the Smurf`s and Enchanted Voyage characters.

Seriously. How often do you hear people raving about how much they love the banana splits, lol. The enchanted voyage left because smurfs were more popular at the time. The Smurfs left because the park wanted to remove the water powered boat ride and replace it with a haunted theater. Phantom Theater left because scooby doo was more popular. Eventually scooby doo will be replaced by...

my dad always talks about banana splits. and i hope the haunted castle leaves soon just because whenever i rode it last year the ride would shut down mid-corse and a seiren would sound.

  4. What happened on that coaster in FD3 would probably never happen in real life.

one way this is ture is that retraints on majority of roller coasters are locked into place with a locking claw not hydrolic fluid

  5. Well, if you want to get technical about it, The Voyage and all wooden coasters have steel rails that are bolted to the eight layers of wood track. Most wood coasters also use steel rails for the side friction wheels as well, although some don`t use steel throughout the entire track. Furthermore, some wooden coasters, like the Fairly Odd Coaster use flanged wheels, and do not need side wheels to stay on track.

blue streak at Cedar Point is like that to

  6. So for that reason I should not be so cavalier about not buckling up on Magnum??

Not buckling up on a ride is VERY dangerous.

and that is why everyone who rode The Beast, before they added seat belts died or was seriously hurt <_<

same with Vortex,The Racers, and Son of Beast

o.k. maybe Son of Beast wasn't the best example :P

  8. I honestly could really care less what the names are changed to.

It is not going to change the ride experience in the least bit, nor is it going to change the way I feel about a ride (i.e. "Man the name of this ride $ucks, I'm not going on it.)

There are much bigger & more important things to be upset with.

so are they going to paint over the italian job billboard or what?

  9. I dunno....to me, 'Flight Deck' sounds more suited to be the nickname for the ride's station, not the whole ride experience itself.

I don't know how, but the name 'Sky Pirate' popped into my head just now.

well it is a great name for top gun beings majority of the time you are in the train you are in the station :P

  10. The only reason I can guess as to why they didnt rename congo falls is because 1. they are planning on taking it out in the years to come, or 2. well i dont know a 2 but yah thats the only reason I can come to why they wouldnt change the name..

Maybe because Congo Falls doesn't directly refer to the movie Congo.

Congo is not only a movie, but it's a place! :o

Most people do not realize that Congo was a movie.

same with drop zone. i didn't know that was a paramount movie until it was pointed out to me in an earlier forum

  11. I was wondering how you guys feel about the new deParamounted names of the rides. I picked the three most major changes (since the forums only allow for 3 polls per topic) so let's share our opinions.

i really like the crypt just because it sorta fits in with the themeing from tomb raider

backlot is o.k.(i'm just glad my mini's arn't leaving)

flight deck just sounds stupid. i think a monkey could have came up with a better name

Invertigo doesn't make since to me they shouldn't have mixed inversion with vertigo

  12. yea, how do you take pictures from a pen-drive and post them?

    never mind

    http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg96/co...pg?t=1198292201

this is the only good picture i took of an amusment park this year

Were you at a place with like a light house and stuff when you took this? Because that picture looks very simaler to a picture that I took a while back from when we took a trip to CP.

if you are talking about a place with a short and fat light house then yes

I want to say he's talking about the Marblehead lighthouse, correct?

i don't know what the place was called. i was just mad that i was that close to Cedar Point and didn't get to go there that day.

  13. Classic... Landmark... either way ACE just leaves a plaque outside of the ride. I plaque that has a mountain and stars on it and will likely be removed before the season's start.

Not to mention they also have to remove that inlaid stone tile thingy on International Street that says "Paramount's Kings Island Welcomes American Coaster Enthusiasts" or something like that. It's in front of the Girl Space and Lotsapalooza stores, but I don't know the exact term for what it's called.

or they could just do like they did in the area that had the paramount movies inlaid in the walkway, just fill in where it says paramount

  14. Well, once I can log into the photo gallery to fix these errors, it will be corrected. Always nice to have members that are willing to provide some quality control for the site, in order to make it even better!

i'll start to look at things more carefully here then.

  15. As CoastersRZ said, there are apparently some technical issues tonight, but it will get fixed. Stay tuned! :)

while he is correcting mistakes, even though this one isn't as big it bugs me a little on the thrill rides caption says pki insted of ki once again not that big of a deal

  16. In these days and with current industry standards, why on earth anyone would want to recognize coasters that do not meet widely accepted modern day safety standards for new installations is totally beyond me.

i totally agree with your statement. we cannot allow safety devices to be ignored for the sake of an award.

i would hope an organization like ace would take a fresh look at the message they're sending.

i understand what you are saying

but i also can see ace's view like moderonizing a roller coaster(such as adding seat belts) takes away from the classicness

so i am on both sides
