Cedar Point 2016 Talk
calakapepe replied to Bansheeback's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thought someone would find this photo to be interesting! https://www.instagram.com/p/BCyPA_Gwe6A/ -
Yeah.. after he replied I looked at the post I was replying to initially and realized I had forgotten since I first read it. That was my bad. Im usually better about going back and rereading/ trying to find the answer myself.

Word has it that there have been a couple successful full circuit tests today. I think what chugh43 said says more though..

AAT?

Which coaster do you want to come next.
calakapepe replied to Beasttamer's topic in Coming Attractions
Racer is attributed to starting the second golden age of roller coasters. What did Thunder Road do? I'm not too privy with Thunder Road and wiki about the coaster didn't say anything of note. Edit- beaten to the punch while double checking information. -

The Racer is as big a historical icon as The Beast, as far as coasters go! RMC shall not make its way to KI unless they are retracking with wood (not likely) or are making a completely new coaster. -
Source or Picture? KK hasn't shown them yet. Did Lightning Run not open on open on time? Does Thunder Run not count as newly renovated? Idk when if it opened with the park, but I assume it did.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk

If you want interactivity, you have to go to the mobile map nowadays. Speaking of which, the mobile app map has yet to be updated. And upon double checking if my app wasn't updated, I found out that Cedar Fair made this Valravn app haha https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.CedarFair.CedarPointVR -- But there's a juicy plot of land next to Millenium Force's overbanked turns... and if Dinosaurs go extinct within the next few years.. even more space -
I-75 in Tennessee Closed (again)

Regurgitation sorta, but this confirms that the plan followed through. Some good news if you're heading south soon, but the trip home will still take a bit longer for now. http://wlwt.tv/6187BexXd Cincy confirms SB opening. Tentative March 24th for ONE lane NB. -
These exist already! But not very intricate and not very common.[emoji14] Interesting. I didnt know there was an adaptation period with water. I usually only drink lots of water when I'm currently in a show.. maybe I should make it a permanent thing.
-
Yes! Water is best. I'm gonna need a lot of bathroom breaks.

I understand "latter". They got a ride from NJ or Cali because WOF got a ride that probably wouldn't have gotten easy certification for the future if it stayed at its old home. -- It was worded in a way that I interpreted it as "Since Ohio is easier on testing requirements than NJ/CA.. we should relocate a ride to WOF.. since Ohio is easier to deal with." Redundant with purpose. I feel misunderstood.

ever watch undercover boss? With the right makeup artist, he could easily be unreconizable as a scareactor.*face palm* idk why this didnt cross my mind. Duh. Hehe I must redact my previous statement[emoji14] A huge concern for me as a singer. For me, my strain never came from when I was being a monster, but when I was giving those spiels about the house rules over, and over, in the near freezing temps.. cough drops were my friends.. however, they can dry your throat out. I can assure you that the actors are not trained how to save their voice. Many of them push their scream as loud as they can. Some lose their voice. Im sure some of the longer term actors have nodes to some degree.
-
And the question is, when does the new 5 year plan begin, and when does the current one end?
-
I think that'd be kinda hard to do incognito though. He's not exactly a faceless name amongst the seasoned employees at Kings Island... definitely not amongst us coaster enthusiasts.
-
Is that list prioritized by most desired to least? Curiously
-
Sounds like you're saying Worlds of Fun is in Ohio instead of Missouri, like it actually is[emoji14]

Thank you for that last point. Yes we all KNOW that not all kids are poor workers, but it's nice to acknowledge the truth after expressing how you perceive things/ feel about the kids you've met.Someone pointed earlier to boost employee morale. Wage increases arent the best thing to do in terms of team performance, or company budget. They need to feel like they are doing something important, that they've actually made a difference, that their performance was well appreciated. The ones that don't perform well will see others getting praise and may rise to reach that level. Wage increases may just make people jealous because you can't necessarily promise a lower employee a wage increase when they pick up their act.. also.. why should they recieve more money for finally doing what they should've done all along?

Good to know! The website gives a good idea of what can be found with your meal plan though however inaccurate it may be.
-
It probably hasn't been updated in awhile, however... "Dining Plan participating locations & menus subject to change without notice throughout the season and from year to year. Operating hours vary by location and some locations may not be open on select operating days." -- From the website.
-
Goodness graciously long, large photo posts! What Meals Are Available When Using A Dining Plan? -- This should be easier to traverse on the forums. If you're going to quote posts with multiple images, it is very appreciated to edit the photo URL out, as we can simply scroll up if you refer back to it. Perhaps only include the picture in which you are discussing.

To my knowledge, Thunder Run has not ever had more than one train.I know with certainty that it doesn't have a transfer track. With that in mind, I don't see how they COULD run it with more than one train. Not to mention, the train is often halfway into the station by the time the brakes bring it to a stop. Luckily, it's a short enough ride with a long enough train that one train operation isn't the end of the world. I've only ever been to KK on weekends and I have never waited more than 30 minutes for Thunder Run. Yeah. I didnt mean to imply that it had a train taken away. I only meant "still" as in it will continue to be one train. 2 trains could be achieved with some modifications to the braking system, I presume. While talking about Thunder Run. It's a shame (as long as I dont know the reasoning) that the ride had the second straight section get flattened out so much. Looks like great pops of airtime in the original layout.

I ended up getting a Season Pass.. Im very tempted to drive down for the 18th.. ouuu.. I'm already booked for wedding details on the 19th.. I can process that day right? (Ill look it up) Now that we know Lightning Rod has tested today, is 10 days enough days to get a clear for public boarding?

I agree. Very empty feeling during the regular season. Zephyr, unused building, unused past ride queue and platform.. entrance to Dinosaurs Alive (which isnt exactly bumping with energy anymore), restrooms![emoji14]I've been waiting for a nice flat to take Flight Commander's old location... waiting.Concerning Haunt.. I too would like a bump in quality. However, if staffing concerns you.. it seems that a lot of the younger ones may not see the job all the way through when it's not as fun as they may have assumed before.. staying up late isnt as fun if you're stuck in a box. Brings me to my next point. I think Haunt could keep the actors AND the guests better entertained if they avoided haunt scare elements that depend on an actor to sit in one spot the whole time and APPEAR! Let them act, let them wander.. have mazes designed the way the best ones in the country are; scare spots are interconnected with several ones. Let them scare at spot A, sneak around, scare at spot B. Less people needed, more fun for the actor, less predictable for the people, slightly more scary. Concerning TR:TR.. it was sad, so sad.. the two biggest failures of innovation at the park leaves nostalgic tastes in the.. mind. Utterly unlikely a TR:TR rehash would return under HUSS or even a HUSS imitater.. that's actually fine. What's done is done, time to move forward, and a new story would be preferred. Story.. we need a story, I think many people are dying for a new legacy worthy dark thrill.. something to write home ab-- something to talk about on Facebook. If it encompasses some dark ride elements of recent CF rides.. awesome.. but hopefully not entirely.. hopefully something with more.. realism. Calakapepe- Not a fan of purely screen based effects, but of more practical effects that don't require glasses.. and please no more guns.. sigh haha

Playfully; not concerningly[emoji14]
