  1. thats suprising........and here i thought six flags was supposed to be great with theme parks...my second favorite theme park they owend but apparently this year they dont own the park...at least its still there...six flags just seems like from what i have heard over the past year or so that they are going down hill quite a bit...or is it just my imagination running around again

  2. Musicians: Kings Island is looking for the following instruments: trumpet, saxophone, trombone and tuba. Please prepare to play in a contemporary pop style. Bring a current photo and a one-page resume.
Sounds like a clown band to me! Now if only I didn't have this pesky job that I need to pay those even peskier bills and to support my family because clown band pay wouldn't cut it... 3202482844_2838e189a1.jpg

THATS WHAT I WAS JUST THINKING!!!!!!! IM GONNA TRY FOR IT!!!WISH ME LUCK!

  3. Becoming? Don has ALWAYS been a huge part of Kings Island, which is doubtless a part of why he became an even bigger part of Kings Island. I daresay I bet at least one future general manager and president, marketing director and operations manager are each posting at this site on a regular basis.

true...lol...i guess you could see it coming if you think about it...

  4. same here....i remember i asked dad once when i was little what they were and he said...foot prints..lets follow them...and this was when i was scared of coasters...it led to The Beast and i freaked out..for some reason i guess i thought i was in line for it when i started seeing it...lol but i do miss those foot prints

  5. "pimp my ebay auction"? Now that hurts my feelings.

I'm a 27 year member of ACE, and know that people who love their park collect this kind of stuff but it's not available very often, so I put a link up.

I remember riding Screamin' Demon that first year...thinking it was nothing until the backwards trip.

I went to KI a lot in my younger days...rode The Beast in 1979 and also got 1 ride on The Bat the next year. Nowadays I spend most of my amusement park time taking my kids to Cedar Point for all the Snoopy rides.

How is the Nickelodeon section of KI? Worth a 3 hour drive for a 3 and 5 year old?

they would love it!! im 20 and I like a few of the rides in NU..I will admit it lol. i dont care but yea definately worth the drive for them. the 5 year old may even like Adventure Express...if he/she meets the height requirement...

  6. see that I didnt know either!!! that is neat, or so I find it. but im just weird like that. now that I think about it, I know exactly where you are talking about too...are there any more cemetaries there around KI that we dont know about??lol

  7. Coney, aka Taft Broadcasting did not purchase Coney Island until 1968. Until Taft Broadcasting bought Coney, there was no formal discussion of relocating to another property. Hence, they did not begin the purchase of land for Kings Island until the late 1960s, not the 1930s as you stated.

And yes, as you mentioned, the deed probably has some restrictions on future use of the land and continued upkeep of the property. Which is why Kings Island likely cares for and maintains the cemetery.

i questioned that also when she said that...but i thought that she could put down her ideas and told her dont worry that someone would also most likely have more info on it as well and will post it lol...and you did so thanks....i will let her know

  8. mom knows the story behind the cemetary or part of it and has info that is interesting...here it is

"KI use to be an old family farm. When it was sold to Coney Island back in the 1930?'s my understanding is that part of the aggrement was that the old cemetary would remain intact and that it would be taken care of. they can not use it in any part of the park and they have to keep it up. You are not allowed to visit it unless you are a family member and I am not even sure anyone is still alive out of the family."

so there is some info for the topic...stuff that i had no clue but for some reason I knew that she would know somehow...weird how she knows some of this stuff..she claims she knows this because of many reasons including she used to work there at KI many years ago before and during when paramount bought KI.

  9. with Kings Island and HH at a close, I have to reflect on how the whole year went. I remember opening day, rainy and cold. I went every weekend up until the end of July when I went on vacation. so many good times and memories that im sure I wont forget. all of the good times that the season had to offer. This is the year I came out of my shell and actually started riding everything there. I couldnt wait when HH kept getting closer and closer. the very first night was fun. It was the very first time I had been in many years. I was really impressed with everything and at the dedication that the workers had. I remember back whe it was fear fest and hardly anyone had the dedication that these people did. I want to thank all of the workers for making so many memories that im sure to always remember. even though I didnt get to go but only like 4 or 5 times this year to HH, I had a blast. Now that HH and Kings Island is closed, I guess its time to find something else to talk about on here since everything is at a close. I want to thank everyone who posted on here to this thred and made it sucessful. I met so many great people on here and am glad I ended up joining. well goodby Kings Island and HH season 2008!!! Cant wait till 2009! hopefully I will have enough money to get a season pass again for next year.
